Whoever loses between us and Baltimore tonight has the #2 pick. The Titans currently have the first pick.

thankfully neither needs a QB so it won't matter.

Titans will steal a few, Mariotta is too good not to.

I fear a trade up. Getting the #1 pick is the only way to prevent that.

It doesn't really matter, but I was watching that game a bit yesterday. It looked like the Titan receivers were running the wrong routes a ton.

They were just doing that to have their boys back. No reason to make your qb look stupid.

I personally know two MSU players (both are from a local school and both are offensive players). They have both told me that he's very isolated and arrogant. Very rarely talks with teammates, always blames others in film sessions, never takes responsibility, etc.

Now, that's only from two players (one of whom is also a QB) so take it for what it's worth. They just don't really like him.

IMO the QB is not the issue with our team. McCown or Johnny can get the job done if he gets his head screwed on properly.

Here is what I see as out biggest issues
0. Coaching

1. WR #1
2. DE
3. RB
4. WR #2
5. DT
6. OLB
7. ILB
8. OLB
9. SS
10. FB
11. G
12. Blocking TE
13. Inside corner
14. Kick Returner
15. Quarterback

There is no real QB in this draft.
At best I see a bunch of bust backups that will be the next Colt McCoy.

looking realistically at our team needs for next year

1. DE - major need to stop the run, rush the passer, and replace Desmond Bryant
2. ILB - Dansby is already on his last legs and our LBs are a huge liability
3. FS - Gipson is gone, so we need to make a lateral move at best
4. OLB - Kruger is most likely gone, as is Mingo. We're bad here too.
5. TE - Barnidge is probably gone, so we need to make a lateral move at best
6. RB - still looking
7. WR - Can we rely on Gordon? Probably not. We need a game changer
8. QB - last, but not least, a QB

That's not counting a new GM and coaching staff

Soo ... pretty long list

Why does Desmond Bryant need replacing? He is our best defensive player.

Also, Gipson leaving is far from a sure thing. I think we probably tag him at this point.

I agree Desmond is our best defensive player when he's on the field, but I've read many places that he'll be a casualty. I'll try to find the few articles I saw

Just basing it off of what I've read/heard other places and articles.

hmmm! that's 15 out of 22 positions on the field. We can't get that many picks in the draft can we?

If the Titans get Mariota some weapons like a running game and some decent receivers he will be a force in the league.

He has a much upside as anybody I have seen.

I haven't really seen anything from the top QBs to think that they can fix our issues. Could they end up good players? Probably, but in our mess most likely not anytime soon. None of them really scream leader to me and I think that's what we need most on Offense. I do need to dig in more, though. Watching the Browns this season has stifled my football interest somewhat.

I think our biggest need is creating pressure on D. Now if we need to get players, change schemes, change players attitudes, or probably some combination of all three, I'm not sure.

I'm leaning Bosa right now. I think he could be a Ryan Kerrigan-like OLB.

If you're getting Bosa, you may as well run a 4-3, because it's unknown whether or not he can perform the same as a 3-4 OLB. Isn't he a junior anyway?

All I know is I've done my looking around - QB I want Cook...even if Manziel starts next season so be it if he wins the job ala Brees over Rivers.

I've watched Cook for quite a while I know he has dropped in some eyes. Not mine, He will be a great NFL QB. He's from Cleveland area he will be the guy.

We're going to pass on a young QB, and take a guy ranked in the middle of the first round #1 overall..

Then we'll trade back into the first round, and select some famous players kid..

We will also trade for a punter returner..

I saw it in a documentary. .

I'm not that high on Cook. The leadership questions really turn me off and I don't really see any individual trait that is great. He's always played on a team with a great D. I'm not sure if he can carry a bad team.

I'm starting to take a look at Carson Wentz as a QB prospect for us. From the little I've seen, He looks interesting.

From what I have seen so far I agree with you EO.

I have watched every game this year and Cook has done nothing but impress me. He has consistently made NFL type reads and throws.

The one thing that I have very little to go on is Connor Cook the person. His leadership and people skills.

This part of evaluating is very difficult because you can't see it. You have to depend upon what others say which often is not verifiable.

Over the months to come more will come out.

Lynch and Goff are interesting. Both have their decisions to make regarding staying or leaving.

Both have more to learn than Cook. They come from spread type offenses. They both have intriguing skills and offer good upside.

Hopefully whoever makes the decision will look closely not just at the film but try to figure out what makes the guy tick.

Last year Mariota displayed unique and unquestioned skills as a player. But his character was part of what sold me on him.

Still plenty of time to evaluate.
