League source told http://cleveland.com that Pryor was getting set to meet with #Bears today but is signing with #Browns instead https://twitter.com/MaryKayCabot

Hope he wrecks the league. If true, welcome aboard. Soooo, he and Bowe are almost in a dead heat then for production, right?

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Fills 2 holes, really. If Josh goes to IR, we have a 3rd string emergency QB.
It seems as if the rest of our WRs have concussions.
I'm anxious to see a bubble screen or something for him.

UGGGGHHHHH we could've BEEN signed this dude. ehh.... for what?? personally, i would've signed him and that kid Lintz or whatever after the preseason. let's say hypothetically, Bowe actually produced(lol). i'd STILL sign those two. they knew bowe and turbin we're recovering from injuries. you sign these guys, then cut them loose once bowe and turbin were healthy, IF they weren't producing. i'm not saying our season would've changed. not at all. but if Pryor produces, that's a hole we don't need to fill at the WR spot. that's all i'm saying. i dunno if these last few games is enough to know or not if we need to draft a WR in the second round. cause IMO, its either Goff or Bosa with our first pick.

I'm having totally unreasonable thoughts of Pryor becoming an effective WR and having Josh Gordon back next year. We could go from having the smallest WRs in the league to some of the largest (I think TB still wins with VJax and Evans).

As they showed Dwayne Bowe standing around, all but retired on the sideline, I thought to myself, "we cut Pryor why, again?" And here they go and sign him. Good. I don't love Terrelle Pryor but my god, how much more obvious can it be that we have exactly one half-ways decent WR and a TE who thank goodness came out of nowhere to have a nice year.

Why only a one year deal?
Now if Pryor somehow performs great he will be a free agent this off-season.

The only reason he is even getting any looks right now is that it is REALLY late in the season and teams are REALLY banged up.

If we sign Pryor, does he take McCown's spot (IR) or do we cut Bowe? I see no reason keeping Bowe on the roster at this point. He's not contributing...

I have been against having Pryor on the roster more than anyone. There is like a 1% chance of him being good. But we should have protected our own interests.

McCown is done for the season, so that opens the spot we need. We don't need to do anything else.
Bowe probably will not get released during the season, at all. As a vested veteran, we're on the hook for his money anyway, so we're going to keep him and use him as a body.
I have to say that I think this is wrong and he should be released so we can at least bring in somebody that wants to try to play the game, but that would cost us more money for a mistake that is already too pricey at a point in the season where it really just doesn't matter any more.... there's very little to gain from doing it.

At this point we should be playing every inexperienced guy we have.
Once Bitonio is back, move Erving to center and Mack to the bench.
Pryor over should get plenty of snaps.
If Gilbert is not too concussed, then he should play every defensive snap.
Manziel at QB.
Bibbs should be playing a ton.
Campbell over Whitner.
Cooper should be playing.
Desir over Trammon Williams.
Etc, etc.
If Pettine doesn't want to play the young guys, fire him now and hire an interim coach who will.

But in the long run does $9m hurt someone like Haslam? We have to pay the guy anyway, I agree we should just let him go and bring in someone who wants to at least try.

The $9 million is already gone no matter what. I really don't understand how Bowe has lasted this long. Marlon Moore is playing over him. The whole team is just one big missed message.

I wanted Pryor here, but nobody picked him up that was sort of telling we didn't make a big mistake.
Bowe can his butt. All those guys hurt and he can't get on the field. Can him! Take the dead money hit now if we can.

I should point out that my post assumes McCown is going to IR; he is not on IR - yet. So... I don't know what our roster count was at before signing Pryor, but if we were at 53, then there is likely another roster move still coming later today. Seriously.... it needs to be Bowe.

My guess is Manziel starts the rest of the year, and Pryor is getting a tryout at the same time as offering a big target for Manziel.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I've said it before and I'll repeat it now... he's basically a Steve Heiden clone. Nothing super-flashy... he's just solid. On a team without many other options, he stands out because he just does his job even though there's nobody to draw attention away from him. If nothing else, THAT says a lot, I think.
