People probably don't bring him up because I think everyone knows and agrees that he is a complete bust. Unequivocally. The only thing to debate, at all, in regards to Gilbert is when will he get cut.

Manziel, however, still has people thinking he will turn a corner. If he does, great, but everything he's shown says it isn't very likely.

DB coach is Jeff Hafley. I don't know much about him, but when I listened to his pressers early season, he seemed like a no bs kinda guy. I think if Gilbert was being babied, he'd see the field on circumstances other than a plethora of corner back injuries. If Noone got hurt, Gilbert would solely be a special teamer.

I don't think it's all that complex. Manziel plays a more critical position that gets a ton more scrutiny than any other.

As far as comparing their performance to their respective expectations? I don't know who is worse, and I don't care to investigate. Both are not performing anywhere near the minimal expectations I had due to severe maturity issues.

JFF came into the league with maturity baggage, and really hasn't shown much in the way of getting past that. I believe that he does want to grow up, just not enough to actually do anything about it.

Gilbert's issues sound like they might be more serious. There have only been these one off, unconfirmed stories about how little he cares and how big a brat he is. I just don't see the value in figuring who is the biggest loser when they're both huge losers.

There's no spin there at all; it is exactly what it is. There's no point in everyone constantly beating up Gilbert because we all know and agree that he's a bust. There isn't a single person who can make even a halfway compelling argument to the contrary. On Manziel, there is room for debate.
