i watched his presser, the guy is delusional. The last 20 seconds of the first half says everything one needs to know about Pet.
I would not allow him to finish the week. He would be fired tonight. There are rumors that he will be. Apparently Haslam is meeting with his senior leadership tonight. What I read implied it was to discuss Pettine's fate. Two things really ticked me off this game... 1. With about 11 minutes left in the second quarter, Pettine wanted to call a timeout. He waited until the play clock read 1 second. Why? It's not that big of a deal, but why was he burning game clock for no reason. Just more odd behavior. 2. With over two minutes to go in the first half and down by 20, the Browns let the play clock run down to the two minute warning. They wasted about 30 to 40 valuable seconds they could have used to try and score a TD. But Pettine was playing for a walk off FG. Why? Isn't the objective to win the game? Don't forget not challenging the catch where Benji's feet were clearly in bounds.

Best part of being at the game was fans throwing the tee shirts back onto the field during the tee shirt toss they do at some commercial breaks.
I left at the end of the 3rd quarter, earliest I have ever left a game. I'm defeated.
To top it off I asked the metal detector wand guy why his line was so much slower than the one next to him on the way in. Literally 50 people went in while about 10 made it through my line. My reward? He refused to let me in and told me to go to the other line if it was so much faster.

On Bengals WR A.J. Green’s touchdown catch: “Just a quick note because I wanted to make sure it was out there, too, since no one asked. On the (DB) Tramon (Williams) touchdown, he should have had top help. Sometimes, you see a guy get run by, but he was supposed to be in trail coverage with help over the top. I wanted to make sure I got that out there.” You rolled the other safety down and you think the other is supposed to make to the sideline from the middle of the field to help when Williams let him release outside? He ended his presser with this without being asked. It was odd. Like I said the guy has suffered some type of nervous breakdown. Maybe he saw himself as the next Belicick and the walls of reality are crashing down around him and he has a personal vendetta against a certain player so strong that he is willing to damage this team to satisfy it. Yes his behaviour is very odd.

He's just an ego maniac.
He puts himself before the team.
Refusing to get involved with the D.
Refusing to change the scheme.
Refusing to listen to his players.
Casting aside players that aren't choir boys.
Rewarding teacher pet types instead of putting the best guys on the field.
Thumbing his nose to Haslam and Farmer.
The list goes on and on...
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I listened to some post game on my drive home - they tried to get a comment from Hartline, he said something along the lines of "no comment, I still want to be employed tomorrow"

It was so embarrassing at the bar today when people kept asking me if manziel was playing.
And I had to tell them No, because he's being punished. Like he is a kindergartner sitting in the corner.
How embarrassing. We are running a kindergarten and not a football team.

I noticed exactly the same thing (points 1 and 2). So disappointing. I hope I get to see Manziel next week - I am flying up for the game. Wish I could have my dang money back on the tickets. I'll have a lot of fun in Cleveland Saturday night - but at this point I'd be as happy watching from a bar as going to the game. Pfft.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

On the benji catch, he looks at the scoreboard poitns to the ref trying to explain its a catch and doesnt throw the flag. I guess he thought if he can get the ref to look up he wouldnt have to risk one of those coveted timeouts lol.

We might see him really come unglued.

I don't see any reason to try and cause the guy to have a meltdown. He's a decent person, just not a very good head coach.

If the Cleveland media had half a brain, they would have followed up the "guys gave great effort" response with, then why did the team get blown out again? Then again, he would have blamed it on the talent and injuries.

One other thing about this guys ego...if he wants to exercise that ego at his own expense, that's fine. But he's getting a bunch of coaches fired too.
Again, Pettine is just a petty guy.

My apologize, just got in from the game...Sat with my good buddy GM..I haven't looked through the thread yet, I need to collect myself a bit. I will as usual, state my dissatisfaction with Pets sideline manners.. Let me just say, He has no sense of urgency or desire to communicate with any asst coach or player.. I'm not even pissed they lost, had a ball sitting with GM..Although there was a Bengal fan who ran his mouth and I shut him up in a real meaningful way... I let him know I have urgency and pride in my team. Not much else to say but, looking forward to next week...

I've always known how bad our franchise is ... even when we have been "competitive" ... but this is the LOWEST point I've ever felt
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Same thing I've said last two games, what a joke...
Austin looked pretty good though IMO. He did about as good as he could given the situations. Closer and closer to #1 pick.

I don't think beating Cincinnati today was realistically possible. We don't have much talent on offense, and it shows, it's not like Mike Pettine can come right out and say "we don't have the talent to win". This is a bad team right now, with a lot of players under performing.
I tuned in this afternoon expecting a dumpster fire.
I'm sorry if some of you tuned in expecting a good game.

austin looks like a decent backup prone to do the stupid. Sliding last week, taking his freaking time with 20 secs left in the half. he and pet are the worst tandem ever for HC and QB clock managment.

I did but that's because I was expecting the usual anomaly of putting up at least one good effort per season against the bengals.
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...

There is literally no hope with this franchise right now. Even when we were bad in 01, 04, 13, etc I could at least muster the energy to watch.
Today, I didn't even care.

Deisle I have no idea how you guys continue to go to games and punish yourselves like this.....very admirable. You guys are much better fans than I am I checked out weeks ago. I watch on tv but don't get mad anymore. I just expect to lose.

BigWillieStyle, We are all the best damn fans in the country. When you post on this board, means you have the same heart as the ones that go to games.. It's the fact whether you go to games, post on a board ,watch a game at home or a bar, stream it or radio... The fact is we care, and never stop caring, because win or lose as a team... we always win as fans.. Damn I have met the best friends of my life from this board and from bars and games... Wouldn't trade it foe nothing !!! It's Posters like you BigWillieSstyle is why we come here.. To learn, listen and care about another Browns fan and maybe talk about a win here and there Think about it... the team loses and mostly sucks year after year... But where do we come ? Here, why ? To be a part of something we love ! Being a fan.

Got up at 5:30 today to go sit in the woods. Made sure I'd be home by 1 to watch the game. Got side tracked by the land owner, didn't get home till about 1:30.
Watched the game, then went back out. Technically, I was hunting deer. Realistically, I was sitting in the woods watching nature.
Don't regret a bit of my day....but I do wish I would've gotten a deer.

Just clicking.
Didn't watch much of the game, just checked in every now and then. Spent the day cleaning the basement, putting up the tree. Enjoyed a Sunday for once.
I am numb to this colossal cluster. I am a fan and always will be, but I can't really get behind this team. There is no case for staying this course. Too much regression from last year. A few weeks ago I was OK w keeping as long as Farmer went. Now, they both can go.
Stubhub has tickets for SF starting at $7. Not worth the trip, I will pass.

Sometimes when I fart and it really stinks, I hold my breathe for a little bit. That's the same effect you get when watching this horrible defense operated by Jim O'Niel.

I saw that too and was wondering why in the world he would let the clock run down to 1 second before calling timeout. He was right next to the ref too while watching the clock go to 1. It made no sense. It was like he was in a bizarro world and must have been thinking he was killing time to kick the game winning field goal. Maybe he thought it was still Monday night. He really just looks lost.
If it's not Chaos, it's not Cleveland.

I look for us to end up 2-14 for the season. We have the 49ers....Seahawks....Chiefs and Steelers and I don't see us winning any of them after what I saw today.I never turn of a Browns game, but Monday night and today I shut it off at halftime.Today I went outside and split firewood. Was a lot more satisfying than watching this pathetic excuse for a professional football team.
I hate to see us start all over again, but I see nothing that has given me any reason to hope anyone stays around.Every phase of this team stinks.Sure makes it hard to say I will be back for more torture next year, but I know I will.Have been a lifelong fan and I am 64.Would like to see them win something before I am planted in the ground.

I've always known how bad our franchise is ... even when we have been "competitive" ... but this is the LOWEST point I've ever felt Me too. Been a fan since I was five. 1967. I've been through the Phipps years, RR88, the drive, the fumble, Jump Art jump, the move, the return, the losing..... The only time I've felt lower about this team is right after they announced the move. I burned all my Browns gear and WAS done. Aside from that, this is the lowest. If they keep Pettine and or Farmer I might just be done for good. I don't think either one of them has a clue.... I'd seriously consider hanging it up. I can't see watching another season of this.... whatever it is. It's NOT footbnall that's for sure.

I hear you on wanting them to win before I kick.... I'm 53 and in not so great health. Lets just say I'm not getting any damned younger. Here's hoping we do end up 2-14. First pick in the draft. Then we have to hope that whomever the next GM is, knows what he is doing.
