[quote=rockdogg]I've always thought that taxes are dues shared by all to insure the well being of our country.
Tax breaks these days means the redistribution of wealth toward the top.
Middle class and lower spend a larger percentage of their income than those who can actually afford paying taxes, but choose to do everything to avoid them so they can increase their profits and their profits keep rising, especially in comparison to the growth of the middle class.
Placing profits in over-seas tax shelters is the same as stealing from everyone. If your company profits in this country then it should participate in maintaining it.
Add this theft to the borrowing of money, which conservatives hate so much, I guess, to finance an invasion of Iraq and an after-thought invasion of Afghanistan and you crash the economy.
So the answer provided by conservatives is to blame others for not fixing conservative screw ups fast enough. [/quot
Ok while I have a moment..What about the redistribution of wealth that goes to the ones who get back way more in refunds then they pay in, in the lower class?
Ive been on both ends of this..Earned income credit is a form of redistribution of wealth towards the lower middle class and the poor. I know I received way more back then my wife and I put in when we was young.
Now that my children been out of the house a few years our tax situation is UGLY. And frankly I get pissed when someone balks at the notion that I'm somehow not doing my part when I use legal avenues to keep as much of MY money as I legally can.
I'm invested in all kinds of things..Ive heard people complain about capital gains tax rates..well damn I already paid taxes on the money I invested and then they get to collect more when I get that money back...so maybe people need to be smarter with their money and take advantage of these loopholes:/
I got off track..I say kudos to anyone who knows how to play the game and keep their money..Now corporate welfare I dont agree with...I guess I understood your point rock..but make no mistake the rich a paying the hell out of some taxes..I'll gladly show you my w-2 and show I've done my patriotic duty

From where I sit seems like the lefts answer is to spend and spend more to fix the screw ups and then tax some more..to me man its gotten to a point where its getting hard to tell the difference between the 2 parties when it comes to spending our money.

Ahh I said more then I intended to have a great day..I have to go.
