The people decided that the 80% of people who don't smoke

This is a bunk statistic.

You know how I'm always crowing on here about actually taking the time to read into things to see for yourself? I'm usually talking aobut Iraq, but it works for all facets of life...this 80% stat came from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Guess where they got their information from?

What individuals reported to their health insurance provider.

Not to mention, to be qualified as a 'smoker' you had to fit the criteria of one who smokes everyday...which discludes a lot of smokers I know.

So you have a more solid statistic? Please .. do share.

Somehow, however, I suspect that you don't.

No, I don't.

I'd guess that the bar constitutes 40% of people who smoke...and this includes your regular smokers, your social smokers, your only-when-I'm drunk smokers...that's a guess, and I have no reason to claim it's accurate...

...but the 20% claim is quite inaccurate.

We have 35 employees here. 23 smokers, and 12 non smokers...hmmmm just a tad over 20 percent

I was going to mention that, NYC passed this type of law like a year or 2 ago, and their nightclubs and bars are still booming in business, and they have Ohio type weather as well.

I don't agree with the government telling you what you can and can't do, and I'm sorry to those of you this will affect, but those of you that are crying that all these bars will go out of business need to take a step back and look at history and realize that people adapt and change and will overcome this and find ways to deal with it.

I was in North Carolina this winter, and the restaurants had tents outside with those propane heaters just for smokers, so they had a decently comfortable place to smoke.

Talk about satisfying the customer, they could have easily just put a sign up outside that read "smokers here" and done nothing. I bet you'll find some Ohio bars finding ways to circumvent the changes and adapt to them.

The world is ending....At least not yet.

Many people have found a way to deal with it. We are saving our money and not going to the bars or out to eat.

I have a feeling as time goes on you may venture out to a bar and find out it is not that bad..............hopefully I am right!

I have been dealing with this for a couple of years.......but not really....the bars in Tampa have been so-called smoke free for a while now..........but most are not........so hopefully the same will happen in Ohio!

All I can say man.................I am a weird smoker................I only smoke when I have a beer in my hand.............and when I walk into a bar............I do expect a smokey bar!

It is really no fun when you ask where the ashtray is...........the response being outside.............or worse is when you light up..............and the so-called bouncer is ready to throw you out of the bar...........only because you just forgot about some stupid law!

Hopefully things will slack on that law in the bars.............I could care less about the resturants!

I just do not see watching a Browns game.............and having to go outside....I have a feeling that it is going to be better then it appears!

The better thing is being able to sit down in a bar with friends ..... have a drink or 2 ...... and head home without stinking like cigarette smoke.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I won't deny that.

You use to smell good when you were in the bars with me, or in the car, or at DTI.
