I think the best part of the night was Lebron's interaction with the kid with disabilities. Say what you want about lebron, he truly gets and embraces what star athletes have as a responsibility to be a role model and to give back. He does so much for kids its really hard to not like him. Need alot more people like him. I know some players do charity work and thats great, but what lebron does is above and beyond. It made me proud to be a Cavs fan to have a player like that representing us.

Word is that Irving is set to return against OKC this Thursday. They just reversed course. He's NOT going make his season debut tomorrow.

Yeah, just saw that. Straight from an Irving tweet. They probably don't want him chasing Russell Westbrook around the court for his season debut. They'll wait till the Philly game.

Kyrie did tweet out that the rumor is not true and then when he is ready to return, you will hear it from him. So until you see it on Kyrie's twitter feed, take it with a grain of salt.

Which is all perfectly fine. We don't really need him until the 2nd Half, anyway. Let him get totally healthy and ready to roll, no sense rushing anything right now.

Does anyone know the number of games Kyrie has played in and how many he has missed in his career?
Him and Shump really can't be counted on. Both seem to be made of glass.

Prior to this season, Love and Irving had missed about the same percentage of games throughout their career.

In loves defense, outside of the bush league play in playoffs, he was really durable last year..this year he looks to be in best shape of his career. Irving and shump are constantly injured. I'll give you Andy, but luckily he's not being asked to do too much this year. We need that 2 guard position shored up. Besides, I don't think we sit and eat 14 million in trade exception. Thats a really nice asset come deadline.

That's a pretty nice and clean breakdown, lead. I would agree that this issues exist currently, but let's see what happens when Kyrie comes back. And...Having EVERYONE healthy.

We might actually do just that ... as a $14 million dollar exception costs us nothing and a contract for the same would cost $42 million in salary/luxury tax. Not saying we SHOULD, but it's possible.

Also on that note, what do we trade? I see the Wolves are K-Mart shopping right now (pun intended). What can we offer that they might go for and not mess up our chemistry in the process? I'm not sure a Trade Exception, Joe Harris and the 28th pick in the draft will get the job done.

No other assets are allowed to be involved. Also, the Cavs don't need another player who needs minutes. Starting in February they are going to have to start cutting guys minutes and dial in their rotation. They already have at least ten guys who need minutes (LeBron, Irving, Love, Smith, Shumpert, Mozgov, Dellavedova, Williams, Varejao, and Thompson). That is too many. Adding Kevin Martin doesn't really do much for them.

You may be thinking of the rule where you can't combine two exceptions together in one trade. Also, the Cavs don't need another player who needs minutes. Adding Kevin Martin doesn't really do much for them. I agree, but the problem is that people can't stay healthy. Shump keeps hurting himself and Irving is always picking up injuries. Delly and Mo are also getting worn down this year. If everyone is healthy, then yeah, we're struggling to find guys minutes. The frontcourt almost seems thinner. You've got Love, Andy, TT and Mosgov. Kaun is getting almost no play and you have injury worries with Andy, Moz and Love.

If I remember right, the Cavs used an exception plus two draft picks to get Mozgov last year.

I am more worried about our PG's defense. I forgot just how putrid Mo's on-the-ball defense was. Delly has also been lacking at stopping penetration and Kyrie doesn't think he needs to play defense.
I will say Kyrie improved last year on the defensive end, he is still a liability. When you can't stop the ball, your entire defense is compromised. Even if the bigs [who seemingly get a lot of the blame around here] switch and effectively contest the shot, the defensive rebounding position is compromised.

Shouldn't Shumpert be guarding the opposing team's starting point guard (if he is healthy)?

That TT turnover is alarming He was just trying to get it to a more consistent free throw shooter.

The number 2 golfer in the world right now OK. Couldn't prove it my me. I never heard of the guy. Watching golf is about 3 places behind watching paint dry on my list of most boring things ever.

Lebron is 16-4 head to head against Durant. Yeah, I think Lebrons ego takes it a bit personal when he plays Durant.

I don't think Andy/JR are safe from being moved necessarily. But by April, Mo and Delly are going to be worthless they are going to be worn down so much. I don't think the money matters, I think the trade might even be a one year rental type deal. I really think if it don't happen this year its not going to. After giving TT that contract, Gilbert has proven he values the potential ring over money. So I still don't think we eat it..but then again, it takes 2 to tango and we might not find any takers. To revisit this conversation ... I'm not sure that Gilbert spending the money is the issue, it's that we don't really have anything worth trading at the moment. Nobody is going to want Andy or JR. Andy is an injury risk on a 3yr/$10 mil contract and the Knicks practically gifted Shump to us to take JR off their hands. Plus nobody wanted to give him a contract when he was a Free Agent just a few months ago. I think the only "trade-able" guys are Mosgov and Delly, but trading either one would put huge holes in our current team makeup. Unless we find a team desperate to shed salary and want nothing in return but cap space, it's going to be hard to get a trade going.
