The Good:

--Coaching. The team played hard against one of--if not the--hottest teams in the league. Unlike what happened under Chud and Shurmer, this team continues to play hard. Gotta credit the coaching staff for that.

--Manziel probably had poor numbers and we didn't score much, but he looks like an NFL qb. He needs playing time and weapons.

--Barnidge fighting for a first down.

--Mingo was very solid when he was in there.

--The d-line had one of their better performances.

--Crow and Duke ran well.

--The OL as a whole played well. Joe T was once again dominant. What is the LG's name? He was good. Mack was very good.

--The new kid on kick returns. Kudos to YTown for calling it.

The Bad:

--Bademosi should not be playing corner. He just doesn't possess the quick twitch motor skills to play CB.

--I am really tired of seeing Erving getting blown up. I am even more tired of reading all of the excuses for him because a few guys love Farmer.

--Gipson is half-assing it. I think he knows Farmer doesn't want to keep him and he is just trying to stay healthy. He might wanna consider that perhaps we might fire Farmer and he is costing himself money.

--Schwartz makes one or two dumb decisions each game. Why block the inside guy when we had a 2 on 2 and leave the outside rusher unblocked? Freaking dumb.

--T. Williams has been bad this year and he gets a pass from the Farmer Fanatics because they don't want to admit that we should have kept Skrine. He freaking stinks.

--Nate Orchard's outside containment, or lack thereof.

--Farmer. Our overall talent is so inferior.

--Five dropped passes.

The Ugly:

--I like what Travis Benjamin has done this year, but he is a wuss.

--Gabriel wussing out over the middle.

--Pryor getting a chance early and having the ball clang off of his hands.

--Erving being blown up w/in a play or two of entering the game.

--Joe Haden not playing while collecting a big paycheck. Fraud.

Benji is not a wuss. He is a tiny little guy. Seriously. He's like smaller than Joe Thomas's arm. He will get squashed if he's not careful.

Well, that is kind of my point. LOL

Btw-------------I forgot to add a Good:

--Moore: he dropped a pass, but he is one tough guy. We need more guys like him and less wussies like Benji and Gabriel.

I actually thought Danny Shelton had his best game of the year. Was not great but a solid performance overall. I think he was credited for 4 tackles 2 in the behind the line of scrimmage. Still think he needs to lose some weight to max his ability.

Benji plays with a lot of heart, but he has to play smart to not get squashed.

The Good:

* This thing will be blown up again at the end of the year. Whatever we have is just not working from the coaching, GM, players. Time to move on yet again.

*Big play Gary: Where the heck would we be this year without Barnidge? Maybe 0-16?

*Two games left to yet another dreadful season. Get it over with already!

The Ugly:

*I thought the Oline was terrible especially Erving. Thank god Johnny can run or I think we could have seen another 6 or 7 sacks.

*We have the worst receiving core in the league. This whole unit needs a complete overhaul starting this off-season. Having Pryor take up a roster spot is stupid. He's not a receiver and won't ever be one.

*We need a stud RB in a bad way almost as much or maybe even more than a stud WR. I'm not a Crow fan whatsoever. The guy is average at best. Duke is a keeper, but is not an every down back.

*This defense: Nothing more needs to be said really. They have been in the ugly category the whole year. It speaks volumes about the level of talent on this unit when Badmosi is seeing this much playing time.

Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

I think this all depends on what Haslam wants to do with Manziel. If he wants to commit to Manziel, you almost have to keep Pettine unless he has a coach who is willing to come here and have Manziel be his starter. Farmer you can probably get rid of. But if Pettine is retained, O'Neil has to go. If I were Haslam and were willing to retain Pettine it would be on the condition that O'Neil is replaced. If he balks, then he can walk too.

This whole season has been so mishandled.

I agree with a lot of your "Good".

Seattle is really, really good. Wilson is playing like an elite QB. There really are several young QBs who look like they could be top end guys. He and Newton are definitely having great seasons. Luck has the talent to be there also. It looks like Winston, Mariota, and Carr may join them, and maybe, shockingly enough, Blake Bortles, who has quietly out together a 30 TD season so far. I hope that Manziel can join them as top of the line, young QBs.

Manziel looked, again, like he understood what was going on around him, even against a really good pressure defense in Seattle. I do not like everything that Pettine has done this year, and his defense drives me up the wall, but I really think that he has toughened up Manziel a great deal, and has him playing like an NFL QB. I really hope that he commits himself 100% to being a great NFL QB during this coming off-season. If he does, then I like his chances of at least being a capable NFL starter.

Barnidge plays hard on each and every play he is on the field for. I bet that he would play every down, and every down on defense defense as well if they would let him.

Duke really looks like a great pickup for us. His ability to both catch and run is huge for us.

I liked the way Shelton exploded on several plays. He blew a few plays early on.

I agree that the LG played well. Erving played like an Erving. He did have a decent play or 2,but that was really about it.

I also agree with you about Gipson not playing hard. I disagree with you about the blame though. If a player is slighted, then I expect him to bust his butt so hard that it becomes impossible to ignore him. Playing safe because the team is losing, or because he is upset that the team did not yet re-sign him, is unacceptable to me, and makes me less likely to want to bring him back.

Dropped passes drive me up the wall. Receivers have one one primary job .... and that's to catch the darn ball.

I don't know what to think about Crowell.

The defense is just sad. I think that the decimation of the defense by injuries as the season has gone by, and the complete inability to stop the run are major, huge concerns. I think that Pettine has to, at least, look at the scheme if he remains as head coach.

Sorry if this is not in the spirit of the thread, but I admit that I have no clue as to what to do with the coach and/or GM. I look at a guy like McKenzie in Oakland, and how he struggled early on in the draft, and I wonder if Farmer will also learn and improve as he goes along. Pettine is similar. If I were Haslam, I almost think that I would let both guys know that their futures are tied together, and that I expect results next season, Period. Either they show great improvement, or they are both history.

I just really don't know. I don't think that Pettine has lost the team. They play hard, but are just dumb on occasion. I think that the defensive schemes need a lot of work, and that is something I would insist be addressed if I were in charge. I think that Flip has done a nice job of getting production out or some really questionable talent on offense. He has not been perfect by any stretch, but man, last week we had Jennings and I can't even remember who finish the game at WR. The offense still produced. I really want to see him grow as OC, and I don't want to see things blown up on offense again. I think that Flip has a good future ahead of him.

Sorry if I went off track.

The Good.........

As you said, the numbers won't show it but I thought Manziel looked like an NFL QB today when he didn't get much help.

Duke was our leading rusher and reciever and approached 100 yds total...he continues to impress me. I don't know if he can be an every down back, but he hits the hole hard and is really quick and has great hands as well. All in all not a bad day rushing the ball when you consider we were going up against one of the Ds in the NFL.

I thought Shelton made a few nice plays. This was probably his best game to date, but that is an aweful low hurdle to climb..lol.

The Bad......

The tackling on this team is atrocious.

The drops were killers. I counted 5 but I might have missed a few.

The Ugly.....

Bademosi is just not a CB. The coaching staff is asking him to do something he cannot do. There are guys on practice squads who are better at playing CB than he is. Great STs player, but why we continue to trot him out there at CB is beyond me.

Bowe not even trying to come back for the ball on JMs INT. Talking about guys who have mailed it in.

Speaking of which, I agree with you on Gipson....guy has quit.

The Good:

Manziel. Played like he belonged. Loosing effort, but maybe this kid has something. If only we could trust he won't self Destroy himself somehow off the field. But on the field, the kid seems to be all business.

Barnage, what can I say, he continues to perform beyond any expectations I had for him.,

The Bad:

Dropped passes, seriously, if it hits your hands, you gotta catch it. Not sure the result would have been any different, might still have lost 30-13, dunno, but it would have been a bit more exciting.

Oline in general and specifically, Irving. He just doesn't get it. Perhaps he will in time, but right now, he's not getting it.

The Ugly:

Again, while the D did better, they are no match for even the banged up Seahawks. Until we fix that, we are nobodys

I like Game day threads cause we see so much of the same.

Outside of the Farmer stuff. Here are some notes on what I saw.

1. Coaching - I agree they seemed into it I wish they coached this way all season especially for the D before injuries to the DB.

2. Barnidge that was a great play glad we signed him his tread should be good even though his age says otherwise. I think his run blocking has gotten better the 2nd half.

3. Mingo...ehhh he has no power I think he should be a SS...lol

4. DL... I like the fact that we are playing the kids a lot they were held back cause they didn't quite get the D now they are just let loose and what they don't bring in discipline they bring in enthusiasm.

5. OL did well - the LG I thought improved from last week. JT is amazing I think he's playing on bad knees.

6. Could be a steal the Kick returner...I liked the way he backed up and caught the ball on the run and got it passed the 20 all the time - saw him on Coverage also.

7. Shelton I thought had his best game.

8. Gaines most the plays looked good.

The Bad.
1. Gaines getting in a one way heated argument with Whittner as he criticised him on the sidelines.

2. Bad-emosi...why they keep putting him out there. I know he's tough but well instead of twitch and stuff I'll go layman's term...he sucks in coverage.

3. Erving and I'm not a Farmer agenda guy I'm surprised you put that as the only reason somebody can say something that you don't see. Erving...made some mistakes especially early on pass blocking. He's an asset in run blocking.

4. Gipson...I had the exact same thought probably on the exact same play and more than one where he held off from finishing plays. I wouldn't of course blame it on Farmer but on Gipson cause its obvious he doesn't want to get hurt before his payday. But this entire season was not a good one for Gipson.

5. T Williams is not great he had a good first half of the season but its obvious once he became the straw to stir the drink...just not that good. But it has nothing to do with Skrine actually he plays the outside better than Skrine.

Dropped passes yeah its a shame

Orchard I think you are wrong about him...early on in the season I thought you had a good read on him...but he has improved a lot. That play he went INSIDE from the get go...I read that to be a call and somebody was suppose to either loop or come up with containment responsibility.

Ugly. Yeah Benjamin is hesitant sometime going inside not enough though to state ugly?

Gabriel - yeah that was a total bail and worse thing was he wouldn't have gotten hit.

Pryor - there is a reason he's a project, right now good in practice he has to get game day tough!

Haden - I think you are way off base there unless there is stuff going on that neither of us know about...if you are correct I would be backing you but that is a big accusation on a guy with a double concussion.

Good - we lost but fought hard good for the draft.
Bad - we fought hard but lost. Seattle just is a better team right now and it comes down to defense.

Wilson btw is playing as good as any QB right now.

We did well with the noise I thought, no false starts???

GOOD:

Johnny. Looks more like an NFL every week. Not great numbers but continues to pass eyeball test.

Duke. makes plays, needs to see the field more often.

Shelton: geez, saw him in the backfield more than once. Was like, holy crap, who is he? Where's he been?

New KR. Showed some flash.

OC. K liked how he designed mis-direction plays. It worked for awhile but their D adjusted. They are good.

BAD/UGLY:

Bryant and Orchard, in same drive, got schooled with misdirection, didn't maintain their outside positions and it cost us big chunks of yards.
Speaking of big chunks.....

Tackling issues, drops issues. Bad D in general. T. Williams and BADemosi aren't cover corners. BAD should never see defensive snaps period.

That face mask penalty at end of half. As soon as I saw the flag thrown I said "yup, that's our Brownies!"

SIGH. On to Kansas City....

Manziel had good poise and I liked what he did for the most part.

We need bigger more physical receivers for those routes across the middle. Asking travis to run those routes is just stupid and reckless IMHO. Too many alligator arms dropping passes in the mid. I saw johnny make some great passes that should have easily got caught. I'm sure some of that is chemistry.

That new LG has really improved our O-line. LIKE OMG its such a noticable difference over Bitonio. Crow definitely runs to the left side when he is not sure where to go. That instinctual desire to go left tells you who our RB trust.

We knew our defense was over matched and it showed so no point in dwelling on it. Haden in on IR I think so why are folks complaining when its beyond his control.

The thing with Haden: I hated the way he played before he got hurt. That said, right now he is in the concussion protocol, after having a concussion after returning from a concussion. The NFL decides when a player can return from a concussion, not the team, or the player. An independent neurologist has to clear the player. If Haden has not been cleared, it is not because he doesn't want to return, but because he is not physically cleared to play.

After playing Blaine Gabbert and the 49ers reality has come back.

The Browns can not stop a quality offense.

Listening to the game "The Browns have won once in December in the last three years". Not much can be said about that other than: Sad.

22 consecutive losses to teams that have won over 8 games was on the ticker of ESPN.

"Another shot to the temple".

The team played hard and got beat by 17. Maybe there is a talent gap? What do you think?

Duke Johnson continues to impress me. The receivers? Not so much.

Crowell defines average. Poor vision, goes down easy, lacks quickness.

Erving obviously not a first round talent. A swing lineman who is not good at any single position.

Shelton had a decent game.

Manziel just needs to keep playing. He has a long way to go but has shown improvement. There is no answer about him and there will be no answer this year.

I think the commentary on Haden is just fan frustration. The guy cares, and I think questioning his heart and "want to" is just people venting. Questioning his ability as a shutdown corner is fair, but not his commitment.

From the broadcast, it sounded like Johnny played very competently. I gotta say, that was my best case scenario coming into this game. We knew that we weren't going to get anything going on the ground or have any sort of matchup with our receivers, as well as playing from behind for most of the game. Despite that, Johnny seemed like he did a very adequate job. Still some work to do as far as tying everything together, but his play should be inspiring confidence. Let's see how he does these next few weeks, and then get this guy some playmakers and a d-coordinator worth a damn.

Which would be incorrect. We've lost 12 since we beat the Bengals last year.

Not that it is a whole lot better, but it's not 22... and it will probably be 14 by the end of the year, barring something totally unexpected.

I generally agree with all that has been said in the posts above. Our effort was every bit as intense as was the Seahawks, but as Vers has stated for the last while, our talent level is not comparable to even that of the middle of the pack. I have mixed feelings about this ENTIRE coaching staff with the notable exception of Flip. I believe he has done an admirable job considering the "talent" and the fact he's a rookie. I look for good things to come from him...

I liked a lot of what I saw from Manziel yesterday. Yes he has a lot of room to improve, but overall he made good decisions and good throws. He was off on a couple, but what QB isn't? He showed solid to above arm strength, really firing the ball into his receivers on occasion, and throwing with nice touch on others. He appeared to understand what was going on within the field of play. I don't believe that we had a single procedural penalty yesterday, which is impressive against a defense that attacks as well as Seattle's does. Manziel played within the pocket when he could, and moved smartly when he could not. (for the most part. There was one play I remember where he could have stepped up, but broke the pocket instead, but that was only after the rusher who came up the middle went by him IIRC) Man, his receivers really let him down. There was one throw to Pryor that really hurt badly. Pryor was wide open, running wide open, and just flat out dropped the ball. That would have been a huge play. I thought that Manziel handled things well yesterday, from pressure, to drops, to crowd noise. I am pleased with the way he has been developing. I think that he could be something special if he just completely commits himself to being the best he can be, and stays out of trouble.

Doesn't matter how you slice it, the stat is wrong. We've only played 21 games since we beat the Bengals... we lost 17 of them... of those 17, 12 had 8 wins...

If the point is that we have sucked, then fine, we have sucked... but the stat is not correct.

It looked to me like they wanted so bad to win and were wound up tighter than a seven-day clock that they got jumpy. The Browns didn't cause it. They were just on the balls of their feet until they settled down.

Your posts get more annoying with each new one, unless you're Googling information, you're pretty good at that. As for your opinions, well, you certainly have your right to them but you choose the most obnoxious way of expressing them.

just sayin'... as it needed to be said.

As someone who got roped into watching the Bengals game, with an extended family, I'm glad someone posted the only thing I really wanted to know. Means a lot more too since pblack is very biased. Obnoxious, but not bad.

The good for me was being happy for the first drive...Johnny Football getting better I think willynilly and I really hope whatever happens at the end of the year the kid still gets his chance to play next year/and he stays out of any real trouble.

The bad...had the game split screened on my TV with the Cavs game and found myself more engaged with the Cavs then the Browns first time thats happened in my 50 plus years watching the Browns...me wanting to watch someone/anything else during the Browns game that is.

The ugly hmm...My level of apathy with the Browns has surpassed the level I had last season and it was bad last year. Also it was a little heart wrenching when talking to my adult sons about the game and they just say Dad why do you waste your time watching them...

And realize my oldest boy is 25 the youngest is 23 and they havent witnessed winning football from there hometown team for almost every year of their lives. That was ugly and depressing. I guess those are my good bad and the ugly for me.

I don't agree w/all the takes on this thread, but people were actually trying to talk football. Your intent was "Hey, look at me!"

Lame!
