I know it sounds like I am just on a rant but I am a bit old school and when I hear a HC praise the mental reps of a team when they had a walkthrough instead of practice, it drives me nuts. I knew what was gonna happen from what we saw in preseason and what we were hearing from practice everyday.

All teams have soft practices now but when I have a diehard tell me that the Browns have gone from full pads to maxi pads this year something is wrong and this is from someone that never says anything negative about the Browns. ytown was correct in the hammy injuries and some other injuries taking place but damn u have a 90 man freaking man roster for preseason and you couldnt find 22 that was able to play hard.

I dont know, there was just an attitude with this team that I didnt like and at the end of the day the coach is primarily responsible for it.

None of this is even taking into account some of the other stuff that has gone on from clock management to having Bad play over many defensive backs that simply put are just vastly superior to him in coverage ablity. Its like us naming Solomon the starter at OLB when he was never more than a decent special teamer that will give effort in practice.

Even if we look past everything mentioned, this is a 3 win team and that is gonna get people fired.

If ever there is a year for a 3-13 record coach and group of coordinators to stick around it is this year.

Half of the respondants on this board want at least some of them to stay.

And they can still sell the hope of Manziel's first full season as the #1 starter. ( We all know we have 3 starters each year.)

Personally, I think they should leave the Defense completely alone. They should NOT CHANGE A PEBBLE on this Defense.

The Defense is Perfect! The only thing they need to do with the defense, is " bring everybody back" emphasis on the "everybody!".

Imagine this defense, if they could just get everybody healthy, and back together, and a year of experience under their collective belts. It is going to be UNSTOPPABLE

And if you disagree, then I don't think you are wearing your orange colored glasses.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Did Throw Long just use sarcasm?

It's a Christmas Miracle!

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Improvement is the key word.

That is what this all boils down too. That is what Haslam has to be looking at. Last year the defense played well at times. After playing in their second year with the coaching staff and adding the players they wanted to add. Improvement was expected. Especially when they are the highest paid defense.

It not only didn't happen they got much worse. Which in itself is an indictment on Pettine.

I like Pettine and think he may get better but this season is hanging on him like a cheap suit.

If Haslam comes to the conclusion that Farmer has to go it would hard be to justify keeping Pettine unless the new GM would want to keep him.

Flip in my mind has done a good job. I would like to see him stay. But again he may fall victim to the changes above him.

Tiring really. I watched the Seattle game with no emotion, none. Sat there like a zombie waiting to lose.

At this point a winning season would feel like a Super Bowl.

Not much sarcasm in that last post.

Take it as straightforward. If they can keep this team together, I think they have the start of something to build on.

If we can get Everybody back on that defense, with Cooper, and Orchard, Dansby, Kruger, Mingo, and Kirksey, if they can come back healthy , and this team can roll out, a healthy Haden, and Ekpre Olmu'

along with K'wan, Peirre, and "all" the safeties, then this defense is going to be a WINNER.
