If you are a softball junkie like me(3 leagues a week)..heres a heads up for ya....I just went to Dick's Sporting Goods and picked a Worth Blade Model for 80 clams..... I have always used Worth bats..from the original Powercell to the Supercell EST and now the Blade....for 80 bucks I couldn't pass it up.... its got a nice end load, but the barrell is shorter than most Worth bats...oh well, thats life. Can't stand the DeMarini's....they are good for 100 at bats and they go to hell...

It's funny you say that about Demarini vs. Worth. I've had Worth bats go dead on me before a season was over, and I'll never buy another one. I stick with Louisville Slugger TPS or the new Easton Synergy bats. They're expensive (upwards of $180-$250, but with bats I've found you get what you pay for.

My biggest challange is finding a glove. I'm a lefty when I throw so finding a fielding mit that I can use is a little bit of a challange. I found a really nice one at Dicks/Champs one time. Felt like it had been broken in really well, 20 dollars.
My bats... I don't use a particular make or model, I'll usually pick up every bat in the rack (This usually takes an hour maybe longer) and try them all till I find one I like. Some I put back because they feel too top heavy (in the barrel of the bat) or they're too short, too long. I guess I'm just as picky about my bats as I am about the rest of my gear.

I certainly wouldn't consider myself a junkie but I like to play... I'm a good hitter but I'm a better shortstop... and I hit for average, not for power so I generally use a nice light bat that i can control.

I don't play softball, I'm still young so I still play the REAL baseball Like DC, I have a bat that I can control and have decent bat speed on, and just hit for average, every once in awhile I'll get one in the gap Real players don't wear batting gloves! Like Me, which just a little rub of dirt on my hands, and I'm good to go!

Yes you will... If I knew how much I'd miss it, I would have NEVER struck out with the bat on my shoulder...

I play 2x a week... I play shortstop on both teams(and I'm left handed) :P.... I have a Worth bat too and I love it! Sunday I dented it though when I hit a homerun so I don't know how it will be after that... But, I can hit the ball an extra 30-40 feet with that thing. It is by far the best bat I've ever used! I picked mine up at Play it again sports in the offseson for 35.00.

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I stopped playing baseball in 3rd grade. That year I played soccer in the spring and fall, and only had time for a half season of baseball ... yet I still made the all-star team. I got so burned out from sports that year, I stopped playing. Big mistake. When high school rolled around, my skills were so rusty, I couldn't get back into the flow of things, and couldn't make the team. I started playing softball when I finished college and have always been one of the best players on whichever team I play on. It always makes me wonder how I might of done had I just stuck to baseball from 3rd grade to high school.
In softball, I don't try to hit for power, but I hit liners so well, that they tend to go for home runs anyway. When I really get locked in, I can hit opposite field home runs all day long. (One game I got 5 home runs ... in 5 at-bats) I love gunning people out from the outfield as well. One season I probably threw out baserunners from the outfield at least once or twice a game. It's more enjoyable than hitting a homerun! Nothing feels better than scooping up a sharp liner to short left field, and then still gunning the guy down at first.
The biggest problem with my game is my fielding. I field like Doran from Major League. One too many bad hops whizzing by my face, and I'm just waiting for the ball to take a bad hop. I feel like I'm playing russian roulette with my face.

I'm still young enough to play real baseball too, but I choose to play REAL softball - fastpitch!

I still play catcher after having both knees operated on. I pitch from time to time (The whole novelty of being a left hander) if my coach wants to give me a day off I play DH

I love womens fastpitch. The Akron Racers start up June 1st. And they are playing Jennie Finchs' team, the Chicago Bandits.
It impresses me to see a woman throw underhand 70 m.p.h. And they are great athletes also. Love that game.

I've been a huge Worth fan for about 15 years now. I have to tear off most of the leather grip to increase bat speed....I never had really quick wrists. I go yard about 5 times a year..it just kinda happens by luck.( I did hit one last Sunday...308 dead center) I just try to hit the gaps and hopefully get to 2nd or 3rd(epecially if the CF has a weak arm) I've used DeMarini, Dudley, Nike,Easton.....nothing compares to a Worth. I hit #2 in the lineup....I leave the homeruns to the 3 thru 6 guys.
