What was some other things that conservatives said was suppose to happen.....oh yea:

1. Texas was suppose to be invaded by the military under obama's command. lmao
2. Obama was gonna take everybody's guns.
3. he was gonna change the constitution to have a third term.
4. nevermind, he was gonna be president for life
5. obama was gonna have all the white people in FEMA camps. that was hilarious.
7. and he was gonna raise the ISIS flag at the white house...even though he's christian.

Personally, the whole Jade Helm thing was the best one. somehow we was gonna take over texas with what? 1100 troops? man i was dying.

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2016/01...-was-reelected/

It’s now 2016, the final year of Barack Obama’s presidency. A few years ago, prognosticators were very confident about what would happen to America by now because of Obama’s reelection. Let’s check in and see how their predictions turned out:
1. Gas was supposed to cost $6.05 per gallon.
In March 2012, on the floor of the United States Senate, Mike Lee (R-UT) predicted that if Obama was reelected gas would cost $6.05 per gallon by the start 2015. Lee said that gas prices would rise 5 cents for every month Obama was in office, ultimately reaching $6.60 per gallon.

Lee was not alone. Newt Gingrich, running for the GOP nomination, predicted that if Obama was reelected he would push gas to “$10 a gallon.” Gingrich said he would reduce gas prices dramatically by reversing Obama’s energy policies. Gingrich flanked himself with campaign signs promising $2.50 gas if he was elected.
gingrichCREDIT: YOUTUBE SCREENSHOT
Today, the nationwide average for a gallon of gas is $2.00.
Some of the reasons for the decline in gas prices were beyond Obama’s control — including weak international demand and OPEC’s failure to reduce supply. Also driving prices lower was increased gas production in the U.S., which has doubled over the last 6 years. The policies that Lee, Gingrich and others criticized — the rejection of Keystone XL pipeline, more EPA regulation and limiting drilling on public land — have not gotten in the way of historically low prices.
2. Unemployment was supposed to be stuck at over 8%
In September 2012, Mitt Romney predicted that if Obama is reelected “you’re going to see chronic high unemployment continue four years or longer.” At the time, the unemployment rate was 8.1% and had been between 8.1% and 8.3% for the entire year.
What would breaking out of “chronic high unemployment” look like in a Romney presidency? Romney pledged that, if elected, he could bring the unemployment rate down to 6% by January 2017.
The unemployment rate currently stands at 5.0% and has been under 6% since September 2014. Since January 2013, the economy has created over 7.8 million new jobs.
3. The stock market was supposed to crash
Immediately after Obama won reelection in November 2012, many commenters predicted that the stock market was toast.

Charles Bilderman, the author of the “Intelligent Investing” column at Forbes, wrote that the “market selloff after Obama’s re-election [was] no accident,” predicting “stocks are dropping with no bottom in sight.” Bilderman said that the policies the Obama administration would pursue in his second term would “crash stocks.”
On Bloomberg TV, investor Marc Faber predicted that, because of Obama’s reelection, the stock market would drop at least 20%. According to Faber, “Republicans understand the problem of excessive debt better than Mr. Obama who basically doesn’t care about piling up debt.” Faber joked that investors seeking to protect their assets should “buy themselves a machine gun.”
The Dow Jones Industrial Average currently stands at 17,425.03 and, despite a downturn in 2015, is up over 27% since Obama was reelected.
4. The entire U.S. economy was supposed to collapse
Rush Limbaugh predicted that “the country’s economy is going to collapse if Obama is re-elected.” Limbaugh was confident in his prediction: “There’s no if about this. And it’s gonna be ugly. It’s gonna be gut wrenching, but it will happen.”
Graphic accompanying a transcript of the September 12, 2012 Rush Limbaugh showCREDIT: RUSHLIMBAUGH.COM
The economic freefall would begin, according to Limbaugh, because “California is going to declare bankruptcy” and Obama would force states like Texas to “bail them out.” California currently has a $4 billion budget surplus.
Limbaugh added, “I know mathematics, and I know economics. I know history. I know socialism, statism, Marxism, I know where it goes. I know what happens at the end of it.”
Limbaugh said the economic apocalypse could take “a year and a half, two years, three years.” It’s been three years and two months since Limbaugh’s prediction.
The U.S. economy grew at a respectable 2% in the 3rd quarter of 2014, following 3.9% growth in the second quarter.
Although these dire economic predictions have proven false, it doesn’t mean there aren’t real, persistent problems with the U.S. economy. Most critically, wage growth for American workers remains anemic. With a tightening labor market, however, some economists are predicting a better 2016.
This post is based on a similar analysis from 2015 and has been revised and updated.

and even with all that, he still hit on a lot of things.

i'm glad he was our president for 8 years.

you can make a list of everything a president has promised but didn't happen.

I'm thankful for Trump, because now that he's pretty much a shoe in for the republican nod, Clinton or Sanders is gonna steamroll straight to the WH.

Yeah, and a lot of things conservatives said came to fruition. I don't trust any of them anymore...I think Trump is going to eventually say or do something so ridiculous that even his ardent followers will dump him.

i dunno what he can say that can be any worse than what has already been said.

but so far he's said some crazy stuff....and gotten even more followers.

my thing is this: people think obama divided the country.

ok, i don't agree, but ok. so.....they want to replace a guy who divided the country.....with another guy who's gonna divide the country?

that doesn't make any sense to me.

People like him because he's talking about dividing the country 'their' way this time. This is the problem with our citizenry. They have us squabbling like crazy till we're taking sides like we do in the smack shack, therefore we are more apt to vote on party line rather than for candidates (who are mostly low percentage getting third party type guys) that would genuinely govern with the American people in mind.
The left is beholden to the environmentalists, the abortionists, the same sex marriage-gender 'fluid' types, big labor unions (who I don't believe for one instant represent the 'little guy' anymore), all the while keeping the section 8 food stamp people in their pocket promising they're going to get them out of it but never do.

The establishment right is much simpler, they tip their hat to the pro-life, traditional marriage, small government, pro business crowd but are completely sold out to big business. No spine at all, Paul Ryan is John Boehner with a beard instead of tears.

I don't think Trump will make it out of the primaries. I really thought he would've flamed out by now (and have been hoping for it since he announced) but I will be voting Cruz when the Ohio primary comes around myself. Closest thing to a genuine conservative on the platform other than Rand Paul who I 'like', but not as much as Cruz.

Glenn Beck said years ago that we should watch how far we swing the candidate 'pendulum'.
If one doesn't think Trump is equal the swing opposite Obama then one isn't paying attention and of course the 'machine' wins and we never do.

Can you please tell me how in the world he is center right??

I'm no fan of either party....we have essentially a 2 party system and the American people are being screwed over...and in the same breath I'll say the people are part of the problem...being divided and manipulated so easily.

I'm hoping a viable 3rd party ever happens I'll go that direction...but I dont think the elites in charge on both sides will ever let that happen.

Here nor there....what in the world makes you think he is center right? Though in fairness I have heard from his supporters the few that are left...he hasnt went left far enough for their liking....but I sure would like to hear your opinion.

Which proves one thing and one thing only, Politicians will say anything to get elected or in an attempt to stop someone else from being elected.

They will lie to us and mislead us. They will marginalize anyone that has a potential solution to a national issue if it doesn't fit into the agenda of those funding their campaign.

It seems like the far right want's everything their way and the far left wants everything their way.. Yet, in truth, on most things, the answer is more towards the middle. Most times, the answer either "leans" to the left or right but doesn't go all the way in either direction.

He enacted a plan, once favored heavily by republicans in the early 90s, for compulsory health insurance. Has kept the status quo in regards to financial policy, civil liberties, corporate welfare, lack of wall street reform, pays lip service to concerns of the left base, supports a drone program that kills more innocents than enemy combatants, but he has done nothing to support those causes of the left.

He's effectively a third term of Dubya.

Is his rhetoric left? Yeah, but he lacks the cajones to enact his rhetoric. Therefore he is center-right as the graph shows.

before getting all smug with Item #2, however, you should probably pay attention to the legislation that's in the pipeline.... including the executive orders coming within the next week.

Step by step, a little at a time, Libs come for our gun rights and whittle away until they are lost completely.

Obama keeps trying to make criminals out of law abiding gun owners by passing decrees that effect only the law abiding.

Those graphs look bogus..I take those tests all the time for laughs...and it has put me inline with Hillary to a right wing lunatic...I align with neither..though lately it has become far right.

He indeed did follow alot of Bush's policies...but I never really looked at George as a true republican...more like RHINO...maybe Obama started off centrist but he is no where near that anymore.

Thanks for your response Rocket I just dont agree with you.

They arent even trying to hide it anymore..the left that is...there end game is Australia like gun laws and constantly blab about how we need to be more like "insert country here" that has tight restrictions on firearms.

Complete confiscation...not possible but making the laws ridiculous..yes. One more libby judge on the supreme court and I think things will change drastically regarding gun rights in this country.

So I dont think its a boogey man fallacy at all.

Take a look at the bill for the Assault Weapons Ban of 2015 that will be voted on by the sitting Congress.

It basically does away with anything that isn't a revolver or a bolt/lever action.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/4269/text

Add in whatever Obama will be putting in his executive order next week and it's a big step.

Also, note the severability section at the bottom or the Bill. If this goes into law, even if it is struck down as un-Constitutional, it makes itself so that only the un-Consitutional parts get removed and not the entire Bill.

If anyone wants to say that they are not making a big play for guns, they're delusional.

Here is how I envision it.

First - a national gun registry. "Hey, folks, we aren't coming to take your guns, you just need to register them with your local law enforcement."

Then, be it a few years or whatever, a "gun tax". "We see you have 1 gun (or 20 guns). Thanks for registering them. However, we just passed a law that says you need to pay a gun tax of $100 per gun, per year. Thanks for cooperating."

Throw in an "ammo" tax of say $2 per box of ammo you buy, which will increase every year - just like the penalties for not having health care - increase on up to $20 per box purchased.

Then, throw in a requirement for lawful gun owners to get liability insurance "just in case your gun is stolen. And, it will only cost $300 per year, per gun. And since you were kind enough to register your gun/guns 2-4 years ago, we know you have X number of guns. So, pay up. Hey, we aren't taking your guns."

Legal, lawful gun owners will start to do 1 of 2 things: Get rid of their guns due to financial reasons, OR, be forced to become felons.

None of these things will stop the criminals though.

These things come up from time to time, and in a world with several Communist regimes, Obama is to the right of them. Is Obama to the right of a Communist regime like that of Hugo Chavez? Yep. Is he to the right of the Pope? (who should be left because his role is not to promote personal accumulation of wealth, but to help all people) Of course. Is he to the right of people like the Dali Lama? I should hope so.

The US is to the right of much of the rest of the world. This is a fact. However, within US politics, which is how we mean when we speak of a US politician being "right" or "left", Obama is to the left. The rest of the world does not matter, because it does not govern us. This "Oh, US politicians are not right/left" is not really accurate. Maybe we are not "as far" left as others, but on the scale of US politics, certain people are right or left on that scale. The rest of the world does not matter and it creates a false argument, as those people do not govern us.

What has he enacted that is a left policy? Every single one of his major moves are an exact extension of popular conservative viewpoints. Even his major healthcare idea came from the right. Obama favors corporatism.

Y'all need to stop listening to Beck, Limbaugh, Fox News, and for the love of all stop reading the chain emails about Obama. Actually, watch Fox and Beck...they work great as unintended political satire. They're all wrong.

Ive always thought about this...if I was antigun...I would do it in a couple ways...Make ammunition hard to come by...buy it up in the guise of government use...tax the hell out of it..make it economically unfeasible to get ammunition in bulk same with the ability to make your own bullets....I already think they have pushed the laws towards making someone a felon a little to easy...so I'll add that I guess.

Then have the push starting in pre-k to make guns icky not needed and oh IDK say its COMMON SENSE GUN LAWS and push it on the youth at a young age and just bide my time till the youth grow up with the same anti-gun thinking.

And its passed on from generation to generation until before you know it...all the kids are grown and voting and have been taught from very young age its just common sense and the ones who dont believe that way are lunatics and not the "norm"

I dont listen to Limbaugh...very little Beck..and watch the the 3 different news channels...some times FOX sometimes not...dont have facebook..my wife does so I dont do the chain e-mail thing.

So who or where should I get my news from Rocket? Honest question...where do I get enlightened news from I'd really like to hear your answer on that.

Off the top of my head I cant think of 1 thing Ive agreed with Obama on...I'm sure there is something I just cant think of it at the moment...and I think he is one of the worst presidents of my lifetime...toss up between him and Carter for me.

I listened to him in the debates leading up to his first election bid...didnt like anything he said except maybe making college more affordable.

But when he said he wanted to fundamentally transform America and I read his books...I wanted no part of him...plugged my nose and voted for McCain...and then barfed after voting for Romney.

I'm babbling on...where should I get my news from Rocket?

This is where lawful, legal, law abiding citizens have to step in. If you have a gun, or guns, teach your kid to respect the gun, how to use the gun, and teach them the fun stuff as well.

Just this morning my wife told me "you need to take Sooga to the gun range again. She loves it." (Sooga is my 15 year old daughter.

Why go to the range? I have a range in my back yard.

My daughter respects guns, and loves target shooting. She isn't one that will take in the anti gun propaganda. She also isn't one that will walk the streets packing, either.

She knows my one shotgun is used for nothing but deer. And she's seen the hole it can put in a living creature. She respects both aspects of that gun: that it provides food, and that it's dangerous.

Another shotgun is for shooting clay pigeons - with different ammo. She knows the difference between a slug and skeet loads. She's even done semi well shooting clay pigeons.

I was at Fin, Feather, & Fur today and could even get any ammo for my gun - they were all out of my particular caliber.

Not speaking for fbh, but my take on his comment about making your own bullets wasn't "the bullet". It had to do more with the powder, brass, primers, etc.

I never got into reloading, but I've been doing some reading up. As soon as it becomes cost effective or necessary to load 9mm, .223 and 30-06, I'm going all in. Those calibers of brass can be picked up at the range easily. My poor kid got a 30-06 for Christmas last year, but 15-20 bucks for a box of 20 it's expensive to shoot. I'm well stocked up on the 9 and .223. I don't regularly shoot the home defense shotgun slugs and buckshot.

You mean that guy who owes nothing to no one and is the only one financing his own campaign?

That guy who brought up the illegal immigrant problem as they pour across our borders while the rest of the candidates in both parties cry for the poor poor Dreamers? The guy who intends to stop that flow, keep the good future citizens and throw back the trash?

You talking about the Donald who wants to recommit America to her allies around the world and renegotiate with those who take financial advantage of us? The guy who's goal it is to restore America to world leadership and stop those who treat us as a punching bag?

Is this the man who has put the Muslim world on notice that they are either with us or against us when it comes to Muslim extremism and has made it clear they will be treated according to their choices in this matter?

This is Donald Trump, a lifelong builder of buildings, who starts a project by pouring concrete and then tactfully building great and amazing structures from there.

What I feel we are seeing during these primaries is the pouring of Trumps concrete, hard, unwavering, strong, unmovable concrete.

Will this building process serve him well as it has throughout his successful lifetime? Only time will tell.

I'm not a Trump supporter, but I'm pretty sure he's never been bankrupt. Some of his businesses have, but him personally? Pretty sure not.

Regardless, the u.s. is bankrupt anyway.

None of those were personal bankruptcy filings.
