Way to represent, Hawkeyes. OTOH, McCaffrey sure is fun to watch. Gotta love a triple threat.

Really hope the Hawkeyes pull this off. Would like the Big 10 to look better than just one or two teams in the Bowl season. Just like the old days. OSU, ttun and nobody else.

Down by 38 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd and Ferentz kicks a field goal? Now he's only down by 7 touchdowns and extra points. That's showing Stanford what you're made of.

Umm ... wouldn't 7 TDs and extra points be 49 points? I feel like I should be watching Animal House ...... "Forget it, he's rolling ...."

Yes it would be five TD's and extra points! Is there a sport where touchdown and extra points are worth 5 points?

If there were a way to make TDs worth only 5 points, the Browns would have figured out a way to do so when trailing in a game by 7 at some point.

The way OU and OSU (Okla State U) have been playing these bowl games it's not the Orange Bowl or the Sugar Bowl but the Dust Bowl that we're playing like.

Just a special class that OSU had. It sucks that they're all gone, but they're an all time great core of players.

Just a special class that OSU had. It sucks that they're all gone, but they're an all time great core of players. The current junior class has 37 wins. We play 12 regular season games, the B1G championship game would be 13 then 2 playoff games is potentially 15 games next season. If they go undefeated and wins the National Championship that would give them 52 career wins. The current sophomore class has 25 wins. They could potentially win 55 games
Is buttcheeks one word? Or should I spread them apart?

The bowl games [especially the "major" bowl games] have sucked this year. Most were not even watchable.

Big Ten is 5-4 in bowl games so far, and most likely will finish 5-5 after Penn St gets smackenburged by Georgia today. I would check the other conferences to see how they compare if I were feeling ambitious.

Kansas State +12.5 TCU +7 West Virginia -2

Okay, by my reckoning, conference bowl records are as follows:
ACC ... 3-4 (1 game to play)
Big 10 ... 5-4 (1 game to play)
Big 12 ... 1-3 (3 games to play)
PAC 12 ... 5-2 (2 games to play)
SEC ... 6-2 (3 games to play)

One Big Ten game remains.
Penn State vs. Georgia, Taxslayer Bowl, noon EST.
Can't believe after this afternoon, no more Big Ten football for 8 long months.
September-to-January goes way too quick. Seems like a month ago I was counting down the seconds to opening day kick-off. (20,783,552 till opening kick-off 2016)
Have a great winter, spring and summer everyone.

Conference records can be misleading. Look at the PAC 12:
Stanford's destruction of Iowa was impressive.
Yet, UCLA was beaten by Nebraska.
USC was beaten by Wisconsin.
The other 4 wins were over New Mexico, Miami, Southern Miss, and Air Force.
Color me not impressed.

Yeah, it is misleading when you consider the number of bowl games and the quality of the teams playing in them. I do think the way Iowa and MSU played this weekend reflects badly on the Big Ten, and isn't really mitigated by OSU beating ND, or UM beating Florida.

Why?
What about Nebraska and Wisconsin beating UCLA and USC?
I am really tired of the anti-Big 10 pub.

I'm not anti-Big Ten. But when the two top teams in your conference get b-slapped and dominated by the top teams in in the SEC and the PAC12, it reflects poorly on your conference. Wins over pretenders (IMO) like ND and Florida can't change that.

The problem is that Sparty had a lucky horseshoe stuck up their butt all season and got exposed.
I think it goes without saying, but Urban Meyer is a truly incredible head coach. His resume is going to place him among some of the GOAT when it's all said and done. I know he's had some frustrating moments, but we need to show some trust in the man. 4th straight season of 12+ wins.

I would argue that Ohio State is the best team in the conference.
Btw--------you sure sound biased.

I'm not sure what you mean.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-kD_8QZM9k[edited to add]My favorite part of that clip is the reaction by the fan and by Harbaugh. Harbaugh is breathing heavily through his mouth like he is having chest pain.

I think the Buckeyes are one of the top 3 teams in the country, but they lost a game they could not lose, and missed a chance to prove it. I think if OSU played MSU 10 times, they would win 9 of them. If they played Clemson I would give OSU the edge, If they played Bama, edge goes to Bama, IMO. Anyway, it doesn't matter, that's not how it worked out. The perception is the reality in this case; that OSU lost to MSU, MSU played Iowa for the B10 title, and OSU was viewed and - more importantly - ranked as the 3rd best team in the Big Ten.

ND is a really good football team IMO.

Yesterday was the first time I watched ND, and I thought they didn't belong on the same field with the Buckeyes. If we'd had Joey Bosa and Adolphus Washington all game, I think it would have been a real blowout. (I was actually hoping it might be anyway, without those guys, because I wanted Cardale Jones to get a quarter, or at least a couple series to end his career at OSU.)

They way the game started I thought it was a good chance that it would be a blow out too. OSU's offense was just to much for Notre Dame's defense to handle and OSU's defense was doing a good job at putting pressure on the QB and not allowing anything to happen but when Bosa was ejected you could see OSU wasn't putting as much pressure on the QB and I figured it would be a shootout.

Looks like the demise of the SEC might have been written too soon. The narrative all season was the SEC was over rated and besides Alabama there were no good teams in that conference. While the Big Ten had a tremendous season with 4 very strong teams but not much depth and the PAC 12 boosts a deep conference but no teams in the playoffs.
The SEC has set an NCAA record with 8 bowl wins in a season with Bama still having another game. While the conference is not a semi NFL conference like some loud mouths say. It is still the deepest conference in the country with plenty of strong teams.

I have to say this again............the bowl records of conferences can be very misleading. I agree If you look at the bowls the SEC teams have played in the SEC teams have had the same or a better won-loss record then their opponents in 7 of the 10 games. I don't think you can cherry pick facts that spins a certain reality into what is truth. Last season the SEC lost there biggest bowl games and were exposed to not be the NFL Lite conference some were saying they were. Reality was the conference still was 7 and 5 in their bowl games. A winning record for a conference in a bowl season is hard to achieve. To win 7 games showed how deep the conference was. The narrative however was the SEC is over rated because the Ohio State beat Alabama, Wisconsin beat Auburn, TCU destroyed Ole Miss, Notre Dame beat LSU, and Georgia Tech beat Miss State. Even with those losses the conference still won 7 bowl games. This season every time the SEC lost a game it was see they are over rated. Then the bowl season happened. The teams in the SEC has went 8 and 2 winning 3 games against the Big Ten vs 1 loss including a beat down of the Big Ten Champion. They are also 3 and 0 vs the Big 12. Is the SEC NFL Lite as some in the media suggest No! last bowl season proved that. But in the last 2 years the conference is 15 and 7 in bowl games including 2 NCAA records putting 12 bowl eligible teams in bowl games (2014) and winning the most bowl games in a season 8 with 1 still remaining(2015) proving they are still the deepest conference with quality teams in NCAA football.

Oregon blew a 31 point lead.
