Report: Johnny Manziel goes incognito in Vegas, with blond wig, fake mustache and glasses

By Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com
link

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Now we know why the Browns didn't know if Johnny Manziel was in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

He apparently went incognito, wearing a blond wig, fake mustache, glasses and a hoodie, according to radio host Mitch Moss of ESPN Las Vegas.

Oh, and he introduced himself as Billy, maybe after Idol, with the blonde wig and all.

But somehow, Billy Football just doesn't have the same ring to it.

The Manziel sighting went so viral on ESPN Las Vegas that it crashed the site.
But never fear. ESPN Las Vegas posted all the details on its Facebook account:

"We all know Vegas stories can get extremely crazy involving celebrities. This is going to sound wild, and maybe hard to believe, but this is what we're hearing regarding Johnny Manziel.

"Our sources tell us Manziel was at a popular night club on the strip Saturday night. The QB entered wearing a blonde wig, a fake mustache, glasses, and a hoodie.

"Manziel introduced himself as 'Billy.' He was there into the 3 a.m. hour and when it came time to pay the bill, he asked to have it comped because he didn't bring cash and also didn't want to put it on his card.

"However, the sources tell us he ended up paying with his card and signing the check.

"By 3am he appeared to be enjoying the party scene that Vegas is known to offer.
"The club had Manziel and his crew placed at a VIP table close to the DJ booth. The table is located in one of the darkest areas of the club.

"Manziel dined at the club's restaurant before going to the nightclub. He was seated at the most private area in the restaurant, which is still out in the open. And yes, he ate with his wig and glasses on.''

WTAM's Will Burge tweeted that he's positive it's true, and later said on the air that he has a screen-shot of a Snapchat with Manziel in disquise.

Of course, the Browns are not the slightest bit amused by Manziel's weekend excursion. He missed his mandatory concussion treatment on Sunday morning, and embarrassed the organization again by traveling to Vegas just three days after being diagnosed with a concussion and two days after being ruled out of Sunday's season-finale against the Steelers, a 28-12 loss.

He did show up for Monday's exit meetings, but it might've been too little, too late. Peter King of The Monday Morning Quarterback reported that the Browns are 'so done' with Manziel, and that the quarterback wants to play in Dallas anyway.
Haslam also had nothing positive to say about Manziel during a press conference Sunday night and was noncommittal when asked if he wants him on the team next year.

"It will be up to the coaches, and Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi (Brown) and the GM as to who's on the team,'' Haslam said. "They will make those calls.''

Asked if Manziel needs to meet certain conditions to remain with the Browns, Haslam said, "I think we will expect that of everybody. We certainly expect that of Johnny, too."

He also hinted that Manziel might not be long for Cleveland when agreeing with left tackle Joe Thomas that the quarterback is vitally important.

"I don't think there is anything that compares to it in professional sports in terms of importance to a team,'' he said. "Joe has been around the game. He's smart. He's exactly right.''

Then he added, "We do have the second pick in the draft."

That has to be great news to the coaching candidates rolling into town this week, including Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase and former Bills head coach Doug Marrone.

But not such great news for Billy Manziel.

I have tried to stick up for the guy, but this is simply childish, and kind of scary...like a split personality. At any rate, I wouldn't just cut him at this point. I'd explore options, but I don't want him to be there once camp opens. Maybe even OTA's.

This is beyond the guy liking to party, the guy is a nut.

Report: Johnny Manziel wore blonde wig, glasses in Vegas

By Shalise Manza Young

As if it's not quite unbelievable enough that Johnny Manziel thought to sneak off to Las Vegas on Saturday night, a day before his Cleveland Browns were playing their season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers, there's a report with more details of the lengths Manziel went to in order to stay under the radar in Sin City.

Radio Station ESPN Las Vegas posted the following on its Facebook page on Monday night:

We all know Vegas stories can get extremely crazy involving celebrities. This is going to sound wild, and maybe hard to believe, but this is what we’re hearing regarding Johnny Manziel.
Our sources tell us Manziel was at a popular night club on the strip Saturday night. The QB entered wearing a blonde wig, a fake mustache, glasses, and a hoodie.
Manziel introduced himself as “Billy.” He was there into the 3am hour and when it came time to pay the bill, he asked to have it comped because he didn’t bring cash and also didn’t want to put it on his card.
However, the sources tell us he ended up paying with his card and signing the check.
By 3am he appeared to be enjoying the party scene that Vegas is known to offer.

The club had Manziel and his crew placed at a VIP table close to the DJ booth. The table is located in one of the darkest areas of the club.

Manziel dined at the club’s restaurant before going to the nightclub. He was seated at the most private area in the restaurant, which is still out in the open. And yes, he ate with his wig and glasses on.

Manziel had been downgraded to out in the days before Sunday's game due to a concussion suffered the week before against the Kansas City Chiefs. He reportedly was at the Browns' facility on Saturday morning, but he was not there on Sunday morning, as required. Reporters at the Browns' facility on Monday said Manziel was present but he was not spotted.

You really can't make this stuff up.

Although, maybe you can make a profit off it - this t-shirt quickly showed up on Twitter for purchase:

It sure seems like he is thumbing his nose to the Browns. He couldn't really expect not to be noticed...could he?

peen...this kind of behavior is what you expect from people who are addicts.

The difference is, Manziel is a rich addict, with the means to fly to vegas when ever he wants.

Manziel's brain is impaired with who knows what kind of drug or drink...

mac, this stuff has already been posted on the board.

The second article you posted has word-for-word excerpts taken from the first article you posted. So it's really only one article copied from another. But I guess if it looks like two articles that makes whatever point you want to make that much better.

What I find interesting about this whole "Billy" incident is that even though JM was supposedly in Vegas for what amounts to about 36 hours we still haven't seen a legitimate picture of him yet. No grainy cell phone video. No rapping video. No picture of "Billy" in his wig. Nothing. And this supposedly happened 3 days ago.

Could it all be true? Sure. If so, it has to be the most bizarre incident involving an athlete that I can ever remember. But the thing that puzzles me, or maybe amuses me is a better way to phrase it, is that either Johhny is just about the most immature pro athlete on the planet (and that is saying something) or he somehow thinks that his master plan to get out of Cleveland is working to perfection when in reality it's just making him look stupid to all football people. With the possible exception being Jerry Jones in Dallas.

I guess there could be a 3rd option involving a different dimension and some kind of time warp but I'm still working on that theory....

Anyway, I will await the "Billy" pictures with a bemused detachment from all of this. I'm numb from all the bad football that doesn't involve Johnny so this stuff really doesn't phase me that much anymore.

Yeah, I'm there too. I agreed with the original benching but not for having a drink, for the lying. So I wasn't too concerned with the reports the guy was in Vegas, he wasn't going to play and as long as he was at the game supporting his team I was fine with it.

Well he didn't show at the game and support his team and that was it for me. I hoped maybe he was growing up and wanted him to succeed so we didn't have to waste his pick and waste a high pick this coming draft on another qb. He shot that hope down and this whole blonde wig thing is ridiculous.

Try to trade him to Dallas or any other team that might want him. Otherwise what do we need to do to get a compensatory pick for him?

I echo a lot of 'Peen's sentiment here. I'm fed up with it, too. He's obviously saying 'eff you' to the Browns so he can leave. To some extent I understand with how everything was handled in the season, but now he's just making it worse... and when you say 'eff you' to the team, you're saying it to the fans and the other players, too. And to Jim Donovan. And I'm not about to negotiate with terrorists, so I say don't trade him or cut him... suspend him for 11 games for conduct detrimental to the team.

Yeah, just what we need, multiple threads on a "punk" as Jim Donovan would say. The only thread JF deserves is the one we discuss the 6th or 7th round pick we got for trading him, or how nice it is after having cut him to not deal with his entire off field life, which has, as a long long time ago, worn out it's welcome.

Sick of this... joke. Package up Manziel and Gilbert and let's hope we can get a 6th rounder for that.

When did Manziel even get his concussion? I haven't watched the last few games all that closely so I'm not sure when in the Chiefs game it happened. And the timing of everything, with the symptoms being made public after the four loko video went viral, him going to Vegas on Saturday make me wonder whether or not he actually had a concussion. Of course, the Browns cannot come from that angle due to the sensitivity of the issue-- they would open up themselves to massive liability if they second-guessed whether a player had concussion-like symptoms. I'm just wondering really, and am kind of surprised the issue hasn't been brought up here.

I suppose it IS possible his disguise was decent enough that no one recognized him. The reports state that he wasn't "known" until he used his card, and or when he was asked for i.d. at the blackjack table - by the dealer. I assume dealers aren't allowed to take pictures, or broadcast who is sitting at their table.

Who knows.

Wow!

Johnny Alcoholic is certainly making a negative spectacle of himself.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in rehab again.... He obviously didn't take his last trip to heart.

He keeps drinking and sooner or later something really bad will happen that he cannot cover up. It may take a few years, but it usually happens to all of us (addicts).

There was a thread in the Pure Football forum but it got too long and subsequently closed.

P.S.

TMZ reports:

JOHNNY MANZIEL WINE & CHIPS NIGHT ... After Vegas Weekend

http://www.tmz.com/2016/01/05/johnny-manziel-buying-wine/#ixzz3wVxqgsls

It's too bad - he was exciting to watch play but he obviously won't quit drinking and wants out of Cleveland.

Yeah mac, I did. Two different articles. Two different links. Two different authors credited. The second one containing a lot of the exact-same-words as if it were copied and pasted to make a new article. It wasn't a new article.

It was no more than another person copy & pasting sections from Mary Kay's article and adding a few words of their own so it could be put on their website under one of their writer's names which they couldn't have done otherwise.

Only the most naive would be gullible enough to not see that.

This kid just doesn't have a clue about personal responsibility ..... I mean, this isn't a big thing, but it is an easy thing to take care of ..... and it's just one more thing on top of the pile that is the Johnny Manziel Experience.

Johnny Manziel of Cleveland Browns cited for driving with expired license plates
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/145198...-license-plates

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was cited early Saturday morning for driving with expired license plates.

The news was first reported by WOIO-Channel 19 TV in Cleveland.

Manziel was cited at 8:28 a.m. in North Olmsted, Ohio. He has an arraignment on Jan. 21, but he can pay $125 online to waive the charges.

North Olmsted is close to Cleveland Airport but also close to Berea, where the Browns facility is located.

Manziel was in the NFL concussion protocol at the time he was cited. He was placed in it last Wednesday.

Sunday, he failed to report in the morning to the team facility for a required assessment.

Reports said he was in Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

Before the Chiefs game:

Quote:
What the Browns didn't know was that Manziel had made at least two visits to Bar Louie in the days leading up to the game, lingering one night until at least 11 p.m. Or that in a few hours, a video would surface showing him rapping while holding a flavored malt beverage called Four Loko. Or that within a week, Manziel would be ruled out for the season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a concussion. He would then show up for a meeting on Dec. 30 looking disheveled and unkempt, according to a team source. He would get a ticket for driving with expired plates. He would skip out on his team-mandated concussion treatment, around the same time rumors would begin to surface about his whereabouts, every alleged trip taking on legendary status worthy of a custom T-shirt.
