I don't actually think Joe wants or is implying to have Cleveland trade him. Eotab...I would be inclined to agree with you..but at the end of the Steelers game...that man had a face like F-it I'm going to retire or just get the heck out of here. Maybe that will change when he sees the new hires of see the plan come together...if not well see ya Joe and good luck. And if Mack and Shwartz go...well I think it would be the perfect time to trade him to wherever he wants to go or who will take him for the right price...and let the complete rebuild begin. not that I want to trade him...id like to see him finish his career here but if he doesnt feel that way well

Joe's not going anywhere. IMO Pet did him no favor's by asking him who he thought the O supported more, Josh or Johnny. Joe should have taken the high road and said that was a coaches choice. The players are paid to play to their best no matter who starts and you can't have the players running the asylum. I think that was one of Pets biggest down falls. He worried what the players thought of him. He was to soft. Now we need someone who can crack the whip and bring these guys in line. YTown, Man I like ya dude, but your going into Mac Mode and it's really getting old.

Did you listen to what, and almost as importantly, how Joe said what he said?
He sounds like a man who has been beaten down by all of the crap and drama around the team, and who is dead tired of all of the changes. I also believe that he was genuinely upset a all of the trade rumors that surrounded him last year.
I am sure that his agent has also informed him, in case he didn't know, that analytics guys see older players as assets to be used in trades, as opposed to keeping on the team.

He, like many of us, needs to get some time and separation from the season and see how this is going to shake out.... and he has a LOT more at stake in this than any of us fans. Fortunately for him, he also has a MUCH better view of things and how they will be perceived as working or not working with this new alignment. I'd say that if he has hope of it working, he stays. If he sees no reason to believe that we're finally turning the corner for real, I'd expect that he will ask to be traded. If by some freak chance that he is traded without asking for it, then we all need to march on Berea and burn it to the ground with Moneyball and Sashi inside
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Well, to argue back, so to speak, Farmer is no longer hear. Neither is Pettine. Were all Sick and Tired, I really believe that's why Haslam is doing all he can.
Let me run this by ya. We've had GM's and Coaches, all kinds. And every single time the GM has made some kind of power play to unseat the Coach. I know the talking heads like to bash us with "they painted themselves in to a corner with this GM title" But think about it, what better way to filter out the head strong GM than by doing just what they are doing. Telling anyone who is interested that no longer are we going to put up with power plays and if your really interested in helping our Team, then please join us to be together. I don't think this move was a mistake, as much as it was a way to filter out the un-wanted.

If we are that far into analytics, and if they see this team (as I do) as being 3-4 years away from winning, then Thomas is almost certain to be traded.
I would guesstimate that he has about a 65% chance of being traded.

I don't think that's true. Haslam knows we don't have many true Browns to look up to, I see this as JH telling anybody who wants to trade Joe, No, we need him to retire as a Brown. He's right up there with Jim, so I can see us making an exception with him.
Edit: I want to add that he's not falling off or getting injured, so you also don't trade the best LT in football just because. I think Jimmy knows if they trade Joe, then he'd be run outta town

We'll see what happens. I think that it is far more likely than not that Joe is traded.
Time will tell.

Just need to get the right QB in place and he'll stay and be effective, without a doubt.

I agree. I hope he remains with the Browns but I doubt that he will.

I wonder what the analytics say about putting a rookie qb behind a line that doesn't have a good LT, C, or RT and has no cohesion because there are three new starters?

There's no guarantee we're losing Thomas, first of all (the Browns hold the cards unless he retires). Also, there's no guarantee the Browns will start a rookie QB in 2016 even if they draft one.

Really? I didn't know that. Amazing insight. You don't have to be such an arrogant ass about it. I thought I was "discussing football" and you come back with a comment like that. You made a supposition and I provided an alternative. Heaven forbid anyone do that!

The whole AP team Oline is AFC North - sans Car C / Mack was robbed :-)
Glad to see Joe leads the pack at LT
Regardless of what the analytics might say - I think I agree - he retires a brown
It only comes down to Joe and what he wants - I hope he gets his wish and wins here
He has bled more for the brown and orange than any of us keyboard jockeys

I believe Joe was upset and disappointed in the way the season ended. I believe some of his comments were more of the emotional type. I don't really read much into them with that in mind. I can't really blame him.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I believe it IS time for JT to exit this mess. He needs, deserves, wants and can play for a SB contender, and he should before he is much older.

I think the new guys will trade him while he still has a very high value.
Since this is a complete blow-up and roster shake-up they'll use the draft pick(s) they get for Joe to help jump start the rebuild. It's the dumbest thing they can do but I'd almost bet they do it.
I'd be cool if he ends up in Green Bay, though I don't really know their situation at LT.
