What is your feeling for the FB in the Browns offense for 2007? Before, Terrell Smith was a non factor in the offense other than blocking. He was one dimensional.
I think their is a real possibilty that the starting FB(Ricard,or Vickers) could see a more active role in the offense. Both have shown to be reliable out of the backfield when you need that 4 to 7 yard catch to convert.
Lawrence Vickers flashed last year enough to warrant a expanded role.
I could see the FB in the Browns offense catching anywhere from 15-30 passes this season.
He would be easily to forget about when you have the LB's assigned to KW2 downfield.
I'm all for the FB getting his hands on the football,especially in the red zone.

I would love to see the return of the Mack/Byner , days ! .. A lewis / Vickers tandem would be interesting to watch ..

i doubt vickers will get tons of carries....i see him more of a pass catching threat

I can see Ricard only blocking for Lewis. However, I think Vickers will get some carries and passes (thrown) his way. I don't think you will see anymore FB passes. LOL

There is no "OR RICARD" in the picture...Ricard is simply insurance and is one dimensional - If he doesn't stud on Special Teams he will find it hard making our team.

Vickers is the real deal and we will be utilizing him as another Weapon in the arsenal. His improvement in blocking was noticeable and made Smith expendable. The rest is all there...Hands, running skills - Redzone and especially Goaline situations many times the defense will not account for he FB...is so Vickers will make them pay

I see Lawrence Vickers as a blocker/receiving threat. Just about everytime we brought in Vickers in 2006 was during a pass play.

I think we're looking at an offense with our FBs looking like Lorenzo Neal.

Which i think should be lovely. I hope we use Vickers the same, but with more catches, cuz thats what Vickers does. Sadly i think Terelle woulda fit better if we ran a SD style O
