I was checking some of the Bengal boards and on the one most of the Bengal fans blame the Burfict/Brown hit on Brown, one guy actually said Brown ran into Burfict. LOL
And this idiocy is what we have to deal with every day in SW Ohio and is EXACTLY why I'm glad Pitt won tonight.
How in the world is Joey porter allowed to go onto the field and antagonize the bengals and then Cincy is called for giving him a little shove and telling him to gtfo?
See my post above yours. The flag was not about the slight shuffle with Porter. PacMan rushed himself, pushing into the three Refs to shout something at Porter.
Refs could have thrown a flag for excessive celebration when that group of Bengals players ran off the field and into the locker room after the interception. What the hell was that? The game wasn't over/"don't count your chickens before they're hatched."
The Bengals were lookin' to win that game, what a stupid late hit that was towards the end on Brown.
As usual, the Bengals blow it in the playoffs once again and the Steelers find a way to win. I hate it that they won, but it was a great old school sorta game with hard, violent hits and with some fighting mixed in there too. I loved it.
Nothing will happen to Burfict because talent trumps stupidity in the NFL.
I watched the same game as you. Burfict did nothing wrong, his hit was shoulder to shoulder, just like he said. Ryan Shazier's hit was to the chin, He could have killed Benard. Shazier should have been flagged, ejected, and he should be suspended for a year.
Also, Adam Jones, did you see the replay of what he was flagged for, (30 yards on two flags to set up the winning fg), because I didn't , and I don't believe there was any foul, except the refs , giving the game to the Steelers.
It is sickening, ...
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
Yes it is. And it couldn't have been more painful for the team or their fans. As sadistic as you are you are concerning bengals pain you certainly have to appreciate that.

Bengal fans are saying Burfict tried to avoid contact.
Yes because he's such a polite guy. Never lets his emotions get the best of him. Never had run-ins due to his behavior/attitude in the past. His coaches never had to try and calm him down and gain control over him.
Plus, it doesn't matter what he TRIED to do. What matters is what happened, and he cold-clocked a defenseless receiver right in the earhole with his shoulder and knocked him completely out of the playoffs.

Fear us, for we are the BROWNS, led by the mighty BM! Only in Cleveland.
No love lost for Pitts, but I feel bad for Antonio Brown. Not a chance that man is playing next Sunday and he might be out a lot longer than that (if they somehow survive Denver). NFL concussion protocol + he was knocked out cold.

Burfict lead his right shoulder into the others right shoulder.
And Jones didn't do anything everyone else wasn't doing for the previous 30 minutes.
Bottom line, whether it's Rooney influence, or what it is, the Ref's keep giving the Steelers games.
But that's not the worst of it. The worst of it is the Steelers seem to have license to injure the opponents players with no reprocussions.
The ensuing 6 minutes after that started with that hit on Giovani Benard, I got to be honest with you, I've not been more embaressed of the NFL game, in decades.
Can you imagine a foreigner watching this game for their first idea of football? It was a disgrace.

This game will bring all kinds of rule changes for 2017. All of them will somehow come back to bite the Browns in the butt. Probably benefit the Steelers in the long run. Both teams were a disgrace tonight. I am happy the Bengals lost but I would have been equally happy if the Steelers would have lost.
Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Well if you rewind life 20 years, that's called a classic, good old-fashioned smash-mouth football game between two division rivals with their playoff lives on the line.
Considering the evolution of the rules and CYA for PR with respect to concussions etc. then the refs did about as good of a job as they could have. Those were fouls. They didn't MAKE them do them.
Where I would place some blame is on coaches, for not benching guys who were obviously out of their minds and playing on raw emotion instead of with their brains, and also on the refs for not at SOME POINT saying enough is enough and ejecting players. It was apparent they didn't really care about the personal foul flags (obviously - they literally gave away the game doing it) so if the coach won't stop it by removing the players then eventually the refs probably should have.

Well, he did try to avoid hitting his own guy ......
That was one of the dirtier, and most dangerous plays I can remember. Good luck not seeing a multiple game suspension to start next Burfict.
As for the rest of the crap, Lewis should have, if he was smart, pulled his team off the field, or at least to their sideline, while they attended to Brown. That would have been the intelligent thing to do ..... get your team out of there and don't allow additional stupidity to take place.

I totally agree with you on the Burfict INT. That should have been flagged. I'm just on cloud nine right now knowing that Cincy blew the game the way they did. Steelers will be done after next week too!
Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

CIN gave this one away in the last 2 minutes. And they did it because of a lack of discipline.
There are different kinds of 'mental toughness.' There's the kind that compels a player/team to not give up... even if they are down by 15 at halftime. CIN displayed that sort of mental toughness to scratch and claw their way back to a lead with the game in the closing moments.
Then, there's the kind of mental toughness that compels a player/team to play right up to the razor's edge of the rules... but not step over. That takes discipline- and a kind of mental toughness that always keeps emotion subordinate to intellect. Smarts won't always win you the game, but stupid is ALWAYS a killer. CIN displayed a decided lack of this particular type of mental toughness when the game was on the line.
They broke. They choked.
Don't get me wrong here- I LOVED the slobberknock style of this game. It was Old Skool as it wanna be... and I enjoyed (almost) every minute. I loved the way CIN didn't back down... ever. BUT- you simply cannot give up 30 yards of field position without a play even being run!
It was a very 'Browns' way to lose a game. And that's a shame, no matter what team is being mentioned.
I've never seen that team play harder. I actually had some true respect for them when they fought all the way back. Then, they allowed their emotions to sabotage all that hard work- with 90 seconds left on the clock. In a playoff game. Against a team that knows how to play in the post season.
They 'played like a Brown' tonight... because they allowed the game to be decided by the refs. A team that does such a thing in the playoffs doesn't deserve to win a Super Bowl.

I want to feel sorry for Marvin Lewis. I really do. I've always liked the guy, and respect the hell outta what he's done for that team. But tonight, I can't really let myself do it-
-because it was his responsibility to slap the leash on his players when they started losing their composure.
This lack of discipline thing goes way back with the Bengals. For years, we've had fun with their collection of felons in the Smack Shack. I think it's a trait of a Marvin Lewis-led team. Yes- I think it's possibly a fundamental flaw in his total coaching package.
He's never been a 'dirty' coach. In fact, I consider him a gentleman among that group of 32. But I also think he's a 'soft Dad,' when he should be stricter with his boys.
So... I feel bad for him. This must be a crappy-feeling night for him. But I can't feel sorry for him.
If you want to see a lack of composure, there's an instagram clip of pacman after the game. Shows what a real jackwagon he is. I'd link to it, but it's laced with profanities.
And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul. - John Muir
He's just as bad as Jerry Jones. He lets his guys do whatever they want.
Vontaze Burfict is the symptom, not the cause. The Marvin Lewis era Bengals have always sold themselves out for the most talented players and then crossed their fingers hoping the culture wouldn't turn toxic. Well guess what? It always does. The Bengals' immaturity/lack of leadership always comes through in big games, and this has been going on for more than a decade.
This is a "no duh" but man, a first round bye is incredibly valuable. Pittsburgh is physically beat up heading on the road to mile high stadium facing a healthy Broncos team.

Also, Denver gets a beat up Steeler team instead a streaking KC..
Man.. if Pitt and NE lose next week..
I can actually watch football games without any rooting interest during Conference Championship week AND the SB..
I rarely get to do that.

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I must admit when I was watching the ref explain the flag on Burfect's cheap shot I was expecting him to say and #55 is ejected. I think he should have been but just imagine the "fix is in for the Steelers" crowd today if they had ejected Burfect and Jones.
The Bengals should have won that game. It was their own fault. They choked, imploded call it what you want. I have to say it was nice seeing it happen to someone else for a change. This will be remembered for a long time.
The Steelers coach was on the field for one reason and one reason only, because he/they knew it would draw a flag (the Steelers are dirty like that). The refs really botched this game, and hopefully Denver scores enough to make the refs and Steelers ability to cheat to win a non factor.

I agree, you know there is no need for him to be out there as a defensive coach he shouldn't have been on the field when it was an offensive player that was injured, but by NFL rules he can be but also by NFL rules it is illegal to put your hands on an official and Jones should have known that.
