That is a smart move. Marvin is a good coach who needs fewer bad players. He also picks the players.

That is a smart move. Marvin is a good coach who needs fewer bad players. Bad apples arent the reason they lost. I loved that these guys went after the Steelers and actually played like the brotherhood meant something. I am so freaking sick and tired of the candy ass way this group of pretend Browns play the game. They nearly rip Manziel's head from his shoulder and after the game our players are hugging them. win or lose the Bengals played their assess off and gave as much as they took. Smart or not the Bengals played the kind of football I want the Browns to be playing on Sunday. I am used to seeing this team lose but I cant get used to this team being punked week in and week out. McCown damn is damn near 40 years old and takees on 3 defenders diving into the endzone gets himself knocked out and this team tucks its tail between its legs. The Rams cheap shotted us over and over and our response was well i think we pointed at them and yelled a few bad words before we continued to take a pounding. Chad Johnson runs his mouth and he leaves on a stretcher. I loved it. I loved the fact that when the steelers took out a bengal the bengal took out a steeler. Thats the brand of football I can respect.

That is a smart move. Marvin is a good coach who needs fewer bad players. He also picks the players. I've said it before, and said it recently in the post season thread. I think Dalton is keeping them back. Cincy has had talent for a while now, and can't get past that hump. I do not think he is the QB to get them to that next level, but he does enough during the regular season that the team does not give up on him. I did not think Lewis was the problem, but losing control of his players Saturday made me think twice on that.

Playing aggressively and playing stupid are different. Burfict is a cheap shot artist and it finally caught up to him.

And you would have lost the game, too.
It was a dumb play that helped cost his team the game. I actually think PacMan's play was even dumber.

Well they didn't fire him the first 5-6 years why would they fire him now - considering Brown is pretty cheap. If he is thinking of firing Lewis he would wait for the contract to be up.

I didn't see the game, but I have to (somewhat) echo the sentiments a poster had about sticking up for your teammates. Nothing gets under my skin more than watching our QB take cheap shots, and there's no retribution. Steelers hand out cheap shots like candy on Halloween, and Browns just take it (and ESPN laps it up). It's easy to say that the Bengals were dumb and lost the game (true, and fair point), but I am just really sick of Browns players just showing no spine whatsoever.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Agreed. The coach had them winning. Two players chose not to.

We have to hope Jim Caldwell is retained in Detroit. Their new GM came from New England, I fear he might consider Patricia as Caldwell's replacement.

Well, now is the time for the Browns to pick up the pace. I understand wanting to be thorough and make sure you are covering all of your bases, but if you really like a guy or two, get busy figuring it out. With the owner meetings this week, we are likely not to have resolution on this until the end of the week. I hope in the meantime, they have a game plan and have reached out to Patricia or Jackson or McDermott and are getting the wheels rolling. There's being methodical and there's being dumb. I hope the Browns don't end up the latter (at least on this HC search).
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Unless our leading candidate is still in the playoffs. You know - where many high caliber leaders are right now.

Guys like Burfcit and Pacman are a coach's nightmare. There is nothing wrong with using your anger by laying out a guy with a perfectly legal hit. There is everything wrong with losing touch with the game and giving the other side 15 yards because you can't keep your cool.
I have had guys that I have played with that cost us games doing just that and guys that I played against that I would specifically rile up because I knew they would do something stupid.
These are supposed to be Pros thinking like amateurs.

I hope you are right, but what do you do when Hue takes the niners job and Patricia decides to stay in NE, we are going to end up with a 5th or 6th option like we did last coaching hire. The browns will be right back to where they are in 2 years and noooooobody wants to be there again. Had enough of that BS

What makes you guys so sure that Patricia is going to be a good head coach?
Can any of you provide a link of his successful head coaching career in the NFL? College? High School? Middle School? Mighty Mites?
He may turn out to be a good HC. He may not. Fact is that he has no previous HC experience, which makes him very similar to other guys we have hired and fired.

If Mike Shanahan gets a head coaching job, does he try and bring Kyle with him? If he does, three jobs in three years for Kyle.

tough division to compete in.

Tom Coughlin pulls out of Eagles search Posted by Michael David Smith on January 14, 2016, 12:58 PM EST Tom Coughlin AP Tom Coughlin will not be the next head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Coughlin is withdrawing his name from consideration for the Eagles job. Schefter reports that it’s not the right fit. The question is whether Coughlin decided on his own that it’s not the right fit, or whether Coughlin decided it’s not the right fit only when he realized that the Eagles are planning to hire someone else. Coughlin and the Giants also spun his departure from the Giants as a resignation, even though it is clear that the Giants’ ownership nudged him out. The Eagles have also interviewed Doug Pederson, Pat Shurmur and Duce Staley for their coaching vacancy. It is unknown whether they plan any other interviews. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...partner=ya5nbcs

I can't believe the Titans are going to hire Mike Mularkey. Dude has been a head coach for two teams (the Bills and Jaguars) and an interim once (the Titans in 2015). His record? 18-39.

Hard to believe, isn't it?
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
