I'll move my post here..... I like this hire a lot. HJ was the guy I was hoping they would get, Patricia second. Good to see the Browns able get their #1 man this time around. Another positive, Hue has been game planning against our division rivals for the past couple years. Ian Rapport Verified account @RapSheet Ian Rapoport Retweeted Michael Silver The #Browns get their No. 1 target. Ian Rapoport added, Michael Silver @MikeSilver Hue Jackson will become the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns. "They made me feel comfortable," he just told me. Tweet

If true, then welcome aboard Hue.
Your first job is to drive immediately to Joe Thomas' & Alex Mack's houses and get them to stay with the Browns. Next stop is Schwartz's house.
After that... go ahead and take the rest of today off.

For those of you unfamiliar with Hue Jackson, the dude is a crack up. Watch the opening press conference, it should be pretty funny.

So excited. Love this hire. Now let him do his thing and make a solid commitment to him. No one and done. We can't keep starting over like this.

Wow we got the first guy on our list.
Good way to start the offseason off.

That would be a good first day. So, I guess this means Hue chose Cleveland over NYG, Tampa, SF, Philly and Tennessee.

I know he is an offensive guy but I wonder if we shift back to a 43? Hasn't he been around the 43 for the past 10 years or so? My guess is he'd want to do with a system he has some familiarity with as the HC....
We'll see.

I love Kevin Mack too, but I think Alex Mack would be a more useful visit! SorryPurp, I couldn't resist!

Here's hoping the Bengals new OC stinks it up. Watch them go after Flip. Flip is still under contract with us, I believe... so, unless we grant them permission to interview him, they cannot even contact him as it would be a lateral move.

We'll see. I hope so, I'm tired of running the 3-4 and being miserable at it. Also, I'm happy we went with an offensive minded head coach, and one that seems to have some charisma.

I think this makes Goff a lock to go #2. Manziel doesn't fit his scheme at all. A guy like Goff does.

No idea if this is true. We'll know soon enough I guess. Hue Jackson took an Oakland team that wasn't so good and at least got them to 8-8 before he was fired. To be fair, they were 8-8 the year before when he was a Coordinator for them. Under him, they were 4th best Offense in the AFC and 6th best in the league under him his first year as a coordinator. I don't know if he's a good HC, but he's a pretty darn good coordinator. He had Carson Palmer for a while (9 games I think) then Jason Campbell and Pryor. He may have had Kyle Boller as well for a NY Minute. We'll see, Sure hope he can get a strong staff together.

j/c.... Kevin Jones @Mr_KevinJones .@MikeSilver: Hue will have a lot of say in who picks the players. Hue never wanted personnel control. He tailors his system for players Tweet

At least he has one year experience as a coach. Just hope the Browns are patient. He has a big Pettine mess to clean up, but I, for one, am in full support of the Browns new coach! Congratulations Hue!

What is all this keep Joe Thomas here talk. He'd under contract for 3 more years? I know he was upset with the fire and on the day of...said maybe if asked about a trade he would say go ahead???
has there been more development since. I just too it for granted he was depressed from the firing. Time would heal.
jmh?
