Aaron Glenn was hired by the Saints. He was said to be one of the guys we wanted to keep. He was our assistant secondary coach last season. https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/687385718994415616

Shouldn't our new coach determine who we want to keep and who we want to dump? It's his staff to build. I hope he cleans house and dumps them ALL.

I definitely think he should try to retain good coaches, just because they are from the previous regime doesn't mean there is something better out there. I think they should take a long look at keeping Defillipo.

who wanted to keep Glenn?
I suppose if Flip impresses Jackson, that could work. Flip is a young guy that can really learn from Jackson. He might find it's a great stepping stone. That could actually work out well for Jackson and Flip.
Can't see any way that O'Neil remains here. he'll end up with Pettine wherever Marrone ends up. that may include the unemployment line.
I like Tabor, hope they retain him.
I also like Montgomery but don't know if he'll fit for Jackson.
All reports I've read are saying that Jackson won't want Manziel.. Who could blame him for that.
One of them said Goff is a sure fire selection in the draft? Dunno.
The one thing I'm most happy about (and I can't tell you why) is that we were VERY quick to get our coach and by all outward appearances, he was the guy we wanted all along.
I read that Sashi Brown was instrumental in "closing the deal" with jackson. (I know I read it, but I'll be darned if I remember where, so much info coming out)

It has been reported that Hue will call his own plays. I doubt that Flip will want to work under those restrictions ... but I would be happy if he would stay. I also hope that we keep our QB coach. I think that he did a great job getting 3 different QBs ready to play.

I don't hope he dumps them all and don't really hope he keeps all or some. My hope is he brings in guys he can work with and as a team they get results.

I hope we get a DC that understands the players on this roster that are good. There are a few, believe it or not. O'Neil was a joke, and from what players have said recently, had no respect for him.
Most thought our defense was going to be a plus, even the national media. While watching the games this year, it was evident to me that what O'neil was trying to do was assinine. He preached about playing to the players strengths, and did the opposite. He, IMO, was the biggest reason this team failed this year.
Jackson is well liked around the league, I hope he can attract someone with a proven scheme that can use the talents of some of our better players. I would also love to ditch the 3-4. It seems everytime we run it we are horrible.

It is probably unrealistic, but I'd love Jim Schwartz as the defensive coordinator. The last time he took over a Mike Pettine defense, he turned it into one of the best in the league.

So if he wants Flip and Flip wants to call plays, I don't think that would be a stumbling block.

That was a pretty informative presser. Obviously he can't answer some questions yet.. Like who he wants to keep on staff or as players..

Hopefully it's a tough decision for Hue and has to select from a group of very qualified coordinators and etc.

O'Connell is one of the guys I was hoping we'd keep. Hue Jack is an offensive guy though, he probably has specific guys in mind to do what he wants to do. I'd guess that very few of our current guys on that side of the ball will survive.

He trained with George Whitfield prior to the draft.

I'm feeling a little ambivalent about Horton. I'd welcome him back, for sure, but it's not like our defense was setting the world on fire in 2013.
We had a good ranking in yards per game (9th), but we were 23rd in the much more important Points per Game.
Yes, this was the season of Chud, and the team laid down and quit in those last seven games, but, it wasn't exactly thumping opponents before then... and neither were the Titans this year.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I remember a lot of posters were upset w/Horton's defense as the season wore on. Many got sick of him talking so much and said he was making excuses.

yes, we we're 9th in yards per game
and 27th in points per game(31.19)
but, we we're 7th in yards per rush at 3.9
18th in rush yards per game
we were also 8th in passing yards per game
20th in INT(14)
16th in sacks(40)
do you even wanna see the nastiness of 2015?
nah? imma show it anyway, just so we all can throw up in our mouths.
27th in yards per game
19th in points per game(30.08)
26th in yards per rush(4.5)
30th in rush yards per game
22nd in pass yards per game
21st in INT (11)
28th in sacks (29)
_____________
all take a ray horton defense everyday of the week over a pettine defense. this ain't even close bro. not remotely.
