These guys are already marking time waiting for the clock to wind down. It's like they're a high school team playing a pro team.
Shots just aren't falling.

Big time…these guys haven't played since Thursday right? They should've been rested and focused. May be rested, but that's about it...

I have never seen a less inspired performance than I saw from Ohio State's basketball team on Saturday. Thanks to the Cavs for not letting this comment stand for very long.

Man, what a disappointing game. I am glad that I missed it.

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Breaking News: NBA Season Canceled, Title Awarded to Golden State based on January Win. +1 Like I posted at the start of the 1st quarter, the Warriors were embarrassed by the Pistons previously so they came out on fire and wanted to make a statement. It happens. They didn't miss. The same thing will happen to Brooklyn in the Cavs next game. I watched the Cavs play the Warriors and Spurs tight on the road in the past few weeks. I wasn't happy we lost those games but they were close enough loses that I wasn't worried about the playoffs. Last night was a game I can throw away and forget about.

Some points about last night's game:
--It's January.
--It's a loooooong season.
--Well, the above comments are only true for the Cavs. Other teams are the only ones allowed to play solid defense and use ball movement to get good shots rather than standing around watching a guy dribble.

Really disappointed with this performance. Blown out is too weak a phrase for what I am seeing.
How could you not be ready to play these guys? What WILL motivate this group? Alarming fail IMO.

It's not just last night, its quite regularly we stop moving the ball and stop playing defense and get outcoached. Right now imo our 3 biggest threats are OKC, SA, and GS, and we are 1-3 in those games. We don't look like a team with an identity, GS and SA when you watch them, you know exactly what they are.. The more I watch the more I see that lebron is an impedence due to his ego and Love just doesn't fit (or blatt has no idea how to use him) To lose is one thing, to roll over at home really has me concerned. It is a long season, and I think there will be a few trades made. You can tell when we play contenders there are holes that you can't mask like you can against inferior teams

I have a hard time blaming Blatt when it's LBJ who is running the team. I don't think this is the offense Blatt wants to run. I do think he wants guys to play tough defense. I don't think he is in love w/the ISO.
If I were him, I would really be tempted to do it "my way" and to hell w/LeBron. Blatt will probably get blamed and fired if the Cavs don't win the championship, so why not go out under your own terms?
LOL......I know why, but again, I don't know if I could stomach LeBron Ball.

Right now, our biggest problems are Lebron, Love and Kyrie. No amount of Mozgov or Varejao trades are going to fix that. When Lebron and Kyrie refuse to run anything other than their Pound-Nails-and-Shoot-Long-2s offensive set and Love and Lebron play Harden-esque like Defense for the majority of the game, we're going to have problems.
You also keep going back to "coaching", but which currently unemployed coach is going to come in and suddenly turn things around? Who's going to actually command the respect of Lebron and Kyrie and force them not to run Le-ISO or get them to play hard-nails defense every game of the season? At some point the players have to put their ego aside and actually let coaches coach and stop trying to play hero-ball.
I hope the team cohesion issues work themselves out. Ultimately, this is still a game in January. We just need to be "up for it" in the late Spring. Atlanta beat us 3-1 in the regular season last year and blew us out by 30 at one point. We swept San Antonio in the 2008 Regular Season.

You know.........I was all about us getting Love last year, but man, he isn't really stepping-up in big games. In fact, it's just the opposite. That's very disappointing.

I hate it when we get into that flow of just settling for contested jumpers. We don't even move the ball around when we get there.
Very disappointed in our team. There's no way we'll advance much playing like this. Teams like Golden State and San Antonio will just embarrass us. We played better last year when star players were hurt.
Cleveland sports is just a global unit of suck...

I know I was mocking the "it's only January" and "it's a long season" excuses, but both things are true.
We do have time to turn it around. I do think that the team should be more cognizant of what constitutes good play and perhaps learn from teams like the Spurs and Warriors.
It was my birthday yesterday and the kids were over most of the day. My son and his fiance had to leave for awhile and they returned around halftime. My son saw the score and said WTH. I said the biggest difference between the Cavs and Warriors is.....and before I could finish, he says: "ball movement."
It doesn't take basketball geniuses to recognize that both San Antonio and Golden State get a lot of great looks because they move the ball so well. Additionally, guys are always ready to shoot because they trust they will get the ball if they are open. And there is nothing worse than making a sharp cut for a wide-open look only to be ignored because some guy is pounding nails.
If dummies like me can figure that out, I'm sure that LeBron and Kyrie can too...........Right?

LOL......I know why, but again, I don't know if I could stomach LeBron Ball. its Blatts job to make players do what he wants..i mean players play, coaches direct them on how to do so. Blatt wasn't hired to coach this team, he was hired to coach the young rebuilding team that didn't know lebron was coming back. I think had they known prior, blatt wouldn't have been the choice. He's got to take a stronger hand

This could be better for the team than a close loss. This game could highlight the things they're doing wrong right now, while they have time to turn it around. Maybe it will embarrass them into seriously addressing some of the things that are holding them back.

Maybe it will embarrass them into seriously addressing some of the things that are holding them back. The "desperate wishful thinking" part of me is hoping that this might just be strategic. Mail it in against the Warriors and give them a false sense of security. They've really seen no sort of organized offense, so they have no practice against defending it. We've seen everything they can throw at us and now have several months to game-plan against it. When the Finals roll around, maybe the Warriors will come out and play like they've already won the title and we'll come out and play like the real season just started?

The Cavs are playing just .500 ball since the Joe Harris trade. Might of been a bigger blow than we initially thought.

Well............I wouldn't trade anyone right now. I am hoping that LBJ and others learn from watching San Antonio and Golden State. I am hoping that they will accept Blatt's offense, which relies on a lot of ball movement. Love would be a great fit in that offense. I think this team would thrive in that offense. It's so superior to the ISO crap we are being forced to run. Maybe the light will come on.......

Brooke Lopez is not a defensive post presence. You might be thinking of Robin. He's no Rudy Gobert, but he's decent. He has more blocks and a better Opp FG% than Robin: http://nyloncalculus.com/stats/rim-protection/Although, again, I was just saying that sort of tongue-in-cheek. We could also trade Love straight up for Demarcus Cousins.

I knew that Brook was playing defense better this year. Traditionally Robin has been better. If the Celtics were to trade Love, they should try and acquire someone to take away minutes from Dellavedova and/or Williams. Something like this: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h4hbyle(I know that is not enough, but it's a start. The Celtics have a ton of picks.)
