I though the same thing, but after watching the highlights of that drive, the 3rd and 12 completion by Manning was insanely clutch. Sure they ran prior to that and after the Manning conversion, but that was still big.
With that being said, I don't think Manning can beat the Patriots. Tom, Gronk, Bill, and crew are too good at home.
It's going to be funny seeing Goodell and Brady on stage at the same time with the Lombardi trophy.

I realize that many of you hate the Steelers, but the Bengals are a dirty team. Have been for the past couple of years. I do not think the Steelers are a dirty team.
I disagree, I think both teams have their share of players who wouldn't hesitate to take your head off... maybe the Bengals have a couple more, I don't know... but Burfict isn't that far removed from James Harrison.
I do believe that being a part of "the Steelers", which is a highly respected organization, which has won consistently for quite a long time, and which has had it's share of great players... buys some of these guys the benefit of the doubt with fans and in the press. Where as being a part of the Bengals, which for a long time had more articles about police blotters than winning teams, does not.

Do teams make the QB good or does the QB make the team good?
Both... you can't win without good QB play.. so the QB with the best supporting cast and the healthiest line-up usually wins.
By contrast, during the same period, the NFC has had 11 different QBs in the super bowl and only two (Wilson and Eli) have been there twice. It is interesting.
1. Steelers have to have the best needle guy in the business. All the reports stating Big Ben could not throw the ball past 10 yards. Not only did he throw the ball with normal zip but he took a few shots in the shoulder. Oh and he probably has the best making routine for steroids too
All these putz get super strong when they go to the Steelers then when they leave they suck!
2. Game was a good one I wanted a domination by the Broncos but got what I thought. A Steeler team digging in making a game of it.
3. Broncos had those numerous dropped passes and the Steelers had that one costly fumble...timing was everything. Nearing the end of the 4th and the Denver high mile atmosphere had the D gasping for air and not able to shut down the run like they did the previous 3 quarters.
Two point conversion worked like a charm...did they go hurry up on that?
Kudos to the Broncos for sticking with the run throughout the game even though they could barely get more than 2 yards...except for the early romp for over 20...I think it wore them down.

I would agree with both, but then I have to acknowledge Brady as the exception.
Man, he takes a very average receiving corps, 4th and 5th string RBs, and an underwhelming OL, and still has that offense working like a well oiled machine.
Think about this: His top 3 RBs (Bolden, White, Jackson) had 300 yards rushing in the regular season. His receivers are all possession types. Gronk has a higher yards/catch average (by 5 yards/catch or so!) than any of the WRs. However, Brady turns this kind of team into a machine, that just marches down the field, methodically, and frustratingly effective.
Edit to add: Despite the underwhelming talent around Brady, and despite all of the injuries that have endured, they were 3rd in scoring in the regular season, and are on that same pace in the playoffs thus far.

You also have to give some credit to those very average players too. There is also some seriously good coaching going on there beyond Belichick. Everyone is always ready to do their job and they do it.

Denver did beat them in the regular season. Though I do recall Brady being upset about that loss, he could come back in hulk mode and destroy the broncos.

Yeah there is more parity in the NFC than the AFC, no doubt about it. That's especially the case this year with the Vikings, Cardinals, and Washington winning their respective divisions. There are still teams that are in the playoffs almost every year (thinking Packers and Seahawks here) and some teams that haven't made it in a while but not to the extent that you see in the AFC.
