It's either him or Goff for me. Great video piece on Joey Bosa and why he dominates:

Is he going to be a game changer like a JJ Watt?

I feel like whomever we dont draft is going to be an all pro future HOFer.

That was a very good video. Who is the guy doing it?

The thing I like best about Bosa is how explosive he is coming out of his stance. It's a great mixture of speed and power. Very rare to see a guy who is among the best at both.

I think he would be great in Horton's scheme. He would be the type of impact player that the Browns so desperately need.

If Titans take Bosa, I think the can't miss player at #2 would be the OT assuming of course we don't sign Shwartz - He would be an upgrade on Shwartz and in 3 years he can move over on the left side if JT decides to retire. We would have a seamless change of guard. And a great RT in the process.

Bosa for an attack defense. or a stud OT worthy of the number 1 slot let alone the #2!

How many rings has JJ Watt won?

It starts with the QB.. Get Goff!

First play dude analyzed.. I thought about how Mingo did that and people were furious that he didnt get the sack. lol.

That is such a dumb argument.

How many rings do the following qbs have [all picked w/in the first 3 overall picks]

--Timid
--McNabb
--Akili Smith
--Vick
--David Carr
--Harrington
--Palmer
--Alex Smith
--Vince Young
--Stafford
--Bradford
--Newton
--Bortles????????????

In fact, since 1999, only one qb picked in the top 3 has ever won a Super Bowl.

If we would've acquired Jim Schwartz as our DC, then I think I'd be really keen on drafting Bosa. Everything I've read about him says he's better suited to a 4-3 DE (not to say he can't transition to OLB, but he's more natural as a DE).

The more I think about it, the more I don't see a way we DON'T take Goff as long as he grades out. The frustrating part is, there's a good chance we don't start him, as we have McCown and Goff has to learn how to play under center. If we do draft Goff, everyone will have to have a ton of patience.

I'd love to have Bosa, but I feel it's yet another top pick geared towards a Qb for us. One of soooooo many.

It'll be great when we don't draft immature kids and find a legit and reliable Qb and not have to discuss the high possibility of drafting qbs in the early rounds because we "need" to in future drafts. Boy if we could ever reach that, it would be an incredible milestone.

I like Bosa, but he played soft this year. He may have been doing so to stay healthy, but that is a red flag in itself.

And as far as 3-4 vs 4-3 don't put too much stock in the guys that project him better as a 4-3 DE. He would really be good as a 3-4 DE 5-technique in my opinion and in a 4-3 I'd play him as a pass rushing DT in a 3 technique.

Two things:

1. You brought up that Watt hasn't won any rings. I showed you all the top qbs taken haven't won any either, except for Manning. So, your argument was dumb.

2. Why would you want Goff if you don't think a subpar QB can win a championship?

Guess the issue is: Is Goff a subpar Qb?

Some say yes, some say no. If we think he is going to be a quality QB then we take him. If we don't then we go a different direction. Whether that is Bosa or a different Qb that we like.

I see Goff, Lynch and Wentz as fairly even (at least in this point of my review) and Cook not far behind (I am ignoring the Alabama game because I personally believe his arm was still injured). I would not be opposed to taking Bosa or Treadwell or Tunsil at 2 then trading up to get one of those Qb's.

AS long as we don't end up trading up to #22 to get them. I know that is an irrational concern but us drafting a qb at #22 is just bad juju. I also don't want to give up our 1st rounder in next year's draft to do it.

I think the argument is - does Goff equal the likes of a Tom Brady, Rodgers, Eli, Big Ben - to win a championship? If he is of that stratus sphere then it is an Automatic pick.

Not many do.

We are building an attack defense this we know and Bosa has the special combination of explosion, speed and size that can be a difference maker. The only teams to win a championship without an elite QB did so with a SPECIAL Defense.

Texans got into the playoffs with inferior QB play. 1 we threw away as dis 2 other teams, 1 the Pats threw away and Texans eventually cut. The 3rd taken off a couch.

They got where they did via DEFENSE led by JJ WATT.

1. If there is a clear cut stud QB our team covets...automatic pick at #2.
2. If not then our best bet is to get a 10 year stud on defense that fits our defense.
3. If Bosa is not there the wisest move would be to get the stud OT. Probably the lease agreed move on this board. As I said WISE wink lol laugh

I believe Goff is that dude. You take him and don't think twice.

Argument can also be made the other way around.. how many 1st round picks did we use on defense.. Have we improved any over the past 10 years?

When we have, we had better QB play. Get your QB!!!

The same number as the top 4 QBs taken in his draft.. Newton, Gabbert, Locker, and Ponder... Of those 4, one looks really good, one is decent, one is not very good, and one is out of the NFL (I think)...

So if you can get a good QB, I absolutely agree.... but if you think it's a reach, go find a legit impact player at another position..

The Texans are the definition of a team that is a QB away from being very good... we are not.

Every bad team is a QB away from being good.

The Colts won two games. . . draft Luck -- BLAMO, playoffs!

The Seahawks go 7-9, 7-9. . . draft Wilson -- BLAMO, playoffs!

The Saints are 3-13. . . sign Brees -- BLAMO, playoffs!

What is your point?

The guy said "how many rings does Watt have?" He knew it was zero. I pointed out that all those qbs also have zero rings. Is that a lie?

Are you implying that there are no pass rushers that have won Super Bowls or are in the Conference finals?

Man, y'all don't even try to debate fairly. I would have NEVER brought this up if the guy hadn't said "how many rings has Watt won?" as if it was an indictment about pass rushers.

if Goff is really that much better than the other 2 or 3 quarterbacks, then take him. If it is a tossup between him, Wentz, Lynch and whomever else, then try for Bosa or Treadwell and go QB with the second round pick. That's what I say now. Of course, I change my mind on this stuff depending on the last think I read.
But Bosa will not be a bust. Any of those QBs could be.

Here's my Bosa question. We will be playing a base 3-4. Does he play DE or OLB?

Honest questions here.

Is he big/strong enough to be a 34 DE?
Is he agile and quick enough to play 34 OLB?

This has to be the worst logical fallacy I've ever seen on here. You mentioned a subpar QB in Andy Dalton in the context as if he won a super bowl. I'm hoping you misread what Turk said.

I'd prefer him at DE but he is about the Same size as Willie McGinest. He is probably big enough an agile enough to do both.

He will be expected to add a little weight and be a DE for the 3-4. Unless we go the route of the McGinest Pats D where at one time all four LBs were ex-college DE's. I think those years were the best D the Pats put out.

SO who knows but I always picture him Bosa playing an attack DE opposite of Bryant.

Had the chance to see Bosa in person at the Illinois game.. Had ridiculously good seats.

He was giving his guy problems on every play. The first step is so good. You could really tell he was a step above everyone else on the field. He looks like a pro.

I know we need a QB, and if Goff or Lynch measure out to the Browns as one of those guys who will take snaps for 10+ years, be my guest... But you can't screw that up when there are guys like Bosa and some of these other blue chip guys who have a high percentage chance at being mainstays.
