That makes sense to me.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I read an article earlier today about Gordon, and I really don't feel like digging for it because it's not that important, outside the point it made.

The point they made was this: If the Browns bring Gordon back, it is impossible to believe that they would "not count on him". He has game changing talent, and if he is back, the team almost has to rely on him.

Now whether or not that is a smart approach to take can be debated, and whether Gordon is someone who should be counted on is very debatable, but if Gordon comes back here, he will be counted on. That cannot really be debated.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Yeah, I too feel and ask...,, why? We obviously had no issues not counting on Bowe and basically making him as if he wasnt even on the roster.

I think a better way to word that, IMO, is if Gordons comes back, he'll perhaps get an opportunity to prove he 'should' be relied upon.

I don't think Hue just going to put all the eggs in Josh's basket and rightfully so. He's given alot of coaches reasons to not have faith in him.

My guess is if he screws up this time he will not ever be re-instated to the league again.

Agreed.

It still doesn't keep me from wanting to see this young man succeed.

I can't help it... I'm a sucker for stories like this.
Why?

...because, at one time- I was Josh Gordon...
...and my absolute 'last chance' led me all the way to Carnegie Hall.

Even now, I think back on 5/7/2011...and all the folks who 'gave up' on me.

I also think about those who never gave up on me.
THOSE folks were the ones I thought of, 5 minutes before I took part in the Concert of My Life.

I was one 'bad choice' away from the life I've lived for the past 30 years... and I was no smarter than Josh Gordon has been since he was 19 years old.

How many of YOU were any smarter when you were his age?

________________

If I'm a GM, I'm 'hedging my bets' with a 2016 draft pick.
If I'm a GM/HC/WR Coach, I'm doing all I can to help this young man help his team.

My efforts will result in either:

1. a (potential) win/win
2. a (potential) win with Gordon's replacement.

______________

If I'm at 76 Groza, I lobby hard to draft the best Gordon clone we can find, and try like hell to bring Josh back into the fold.

Who knows what might happen?
I played my ass off in New York City. Played my ass off in every gig that led up to it. Josh might just play his ass off in a Super Bowl run... if hes given...

...one more chance.

I'm OK with the idea of trying.

I have no ill will towards manziel or Gordon. I hope both get their heads on straight and become great players and good men.

I posted before in regards to Gordon that I think his problem isn't so much addiction as some speculate, but rather that he has a weak personality to so to speak. He's a follower through and through, looking for a good time, and that is who he gravitates towards, which often times leads him to some very poor associations. He gives in to peer pressure and I think to a degree let's people take advantage of him.

Look at the types of issues he's had, particularly with the weed issues. Weed is something that mostly gets used in social settings, so if he did try to pass (and I don't mean puff, puff and pass to the left), he's certainly going to be faced with peer pressure.

The guy who bailed him out of jail here in NC when he got his DWI, known as "Fats", has been known to have some very dubious relations with some very bad characters and has been associated with some of the problems local collegiate athletes have had (including our old friend Gregg "stone Hands" Little.

Then when we drafted Manzie, Gordon gravitated to him.

It really sucks how his 1 year ban went down. I don't think it unreasonable to believe that one would think once the Brown's season as over, the year was 'over'... but 1) he still should have known for sure and 2) the WR coach sure as hell should have known for sure.

The key IMO to Gordon's success is whether or not he grew as a person over this last year and developed a stronger sense of his self.

Manziel is in the same boat as Gordon.

But the reasons are different. Manziel even with his minor infractions and brushes with the authority (legal or NFL) is too risky to go entrust as a QB for an NFL team. Gordon has one foot out the door, and the other half is directed that way.

For now, it would be foolish to structure the future of the team around them.

You hope they turn their life around, but you cannot rely upon them to do so.

I wonder what kind of conditional pick we could get for him? If he stays clean a year we get #2 or something akin to that.
I don't think anyone would give much without some conditions applied.

So long as we have him under contract, I say keep him and let him score touchdowns for us.
I have the same mindset clem has towards him, even though I've never played at carnegie hall.

WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM

So, if reinstated, Gordon might be a good replacement for Bowe (I admit I would miss his production).

I think this is where PetFarm were under-estimated. See, Farmer recognizes the luster still in the gem of a guy like Bowe. They made him a healthy scratch so that he could concentrate solely on learning everything there was to know about the offense and our division. 2015 was purely a mental year for Bowe.

Now, the genius in that is by not playing Bowe in 2015, he doesn't give our 2016 opponents any tape on him. 2016 is supposed to be a career, HoFer level year for Bowe where he would be U.N.S.T.O.P.P.A.B.L.E. Farmer just garunteed his contract ad locked him up for 2 years in case someone else got wise to the secret plan.

I'm sorry I didn't reveal this sooner... maybe people wouldn't have been so quick to want to run them out of town. My bad.

Personally, I think the only reason Bowe is here is because he has pictures of Farmer doing odd things and threatened to share them on Instagram if he didn't bring him in.

Personally, I'd LOVE it.
Matter of fact, I actually gave a "WOOF!" at the dress rehearsal that afternoon.

I gotta tell you- the acoustics in that hall are wonderful... that bark sounded GREAT!

That was like the Cleveland Browns version of the X Files LOLetc.!

Healthy scratches were all a stealth move, so we fed all the smurfies all season to set it up for 2016? Consider we have Bowe (Probably pretty fresh at this point and well rested), Pryor, and throw in Gordon. Conspiracy theory not as crazy as I thought at first, still plenty crazy.

Just incredulous I am.

he makes the 53, and ends up making the pro bowl.

What does Manziel have to do with this?

Hint: the correct answer is Nothing, except that you want to drag him into any/every discussion.

Beyond that: we should accept back anybody that shows with their actions that they are taking their new chance seriously. Words are meaningless, actions are what matters.

So far, Gordon has - by all known accounts - been paying for his sins and earning himself another shot. Manziel should take a few lessons from Gordon on maturity and growth, it would appear.

You saying he has nothing to do w/it doesn't make it so.

Josh's sins are way worse than Johnny's. Yet, I just left the JM thread and read stuff like "who cares what Johnny wants..." and then come to this thread and it's "poor Josh."

Hypocritical.
