Tough for me to see Denver beating Carolina, who is really coming on right now (and they were darn good to begin with).
I was wrong about Denver the past two weeks though ... so we'll see
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Boston is far to the left as KC settles into the slot. Fannin is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Sampson are split in the backfield as the ball is hiked ... Here we go."
I favor Panthers because of the OLine. Not sure they can stop enough of rush, but if they can bully ball the Denver D, it could be a long day. Cam's first ring.
I have REALLY enjoyed watching the kids getting game balls after scores. Some genuinely jacked up littluns there at the rail. Classy.

I think that if there is any group of defenders with the speed & athleticism to neutralize what Carolina does and get hits on Cam, it is Denver. Denver's defensive playmakers aren't just lanky one-trick speed guys like a Wimbley or Mingo; they're powerful, explosive, and strong, too.
I think Peyton puts all of himself on the line for this one last one. His last game.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I want Denver to win, but don't think it will happen. Even more than that I want to see a riviting nail biting game. Drama at it's finest. No blow outs.
My thought process is that Denver does have a better D. However, Carolina has a very good D as well. Not to the level of Denvers but at least in the same area code.
I don't believe the same holds true in terms of the O. I believe Peyton's sun has set. That he's well beyond his prime. I give Carolina a HUGE edge on the O side of the ball.
At some point, the old guard will be replaced by the new guard. The inevitable becomes the reality. I believe that time has come.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
I really wouldn't mind if Peyton got a 2nd ring and rode off into the sunset.
I also really like Cam (I know a lot of people don't)... dude has matured a lot since he came into the league and I don't know anybody who has more fun playing the game and is more adored by his teammates and his fans than Cam Newton.
That said, the difference in this game will be turnovers.. I don't expect Carolina to force 7 like they did the other night but they are one ballhawking team. If Denver can keep it to 1 or less, this could be a really good game. If Denver turns it over multiple times, it could get ugly.

There's no doubt or questioning how lethal Denver's defense is. Ware in the title game played incredibly that for the longest of time, he was the only player/thing I was watching when Denver was on defense... and it was damn fun in doing so! They got some monsters and people were playing very physical. There were plenty of hits for the defensive people as myself like to see.
But, Cam, whether you hate or love him, is just playing very good football right now. He's making the throws, making the reads, making yards happen with his feet and he needs to be accounted for literally at all times. Ginn just has too much speed too at WR. That really hinders what a defense can dial up those two factors alone, and the fashion they must play. Face it, he's not like Manning/Brady where they'll make their living basically and solely in the pocket and Denver's defense has a recipe to destroy that type. It's hard to defend an offense with a running and throwing QB that is starting to play very smartly as' well with the football. And he's huge, they said on the radio he's over 265lbs. Say what?!?!?!
I'm with you. I had a really hard time rooting for Denver over the Pats, but I'm tired of the Pats. I was already pulling for Carolina early on, so I'm sticking with them. Wish we had a player like Cam
I'd guess Rivera because he's latino and Phillips is only white and old

I hope Carolina destroys Denver. Broncos fans getting on my nerves already. 13 more days of this...
I'm with you. I guess you have to be old enough to remember the misery that team caused us. I genuinely dislike anything Denver....Avalanche included. We (Red Wings) had a heated rivalry with them for a while.

Manning is a good enough guy and it would be a nice ending for him to walk off into the sunset with a 2nd ring, but he plays for Denver. Poo on the Broncos. Go Carolina!
Cam and Kuechly are fun to watch too.
The Panthers Spanish announcers are even better.
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”
I like the Panthers offense vs the Denver defense far more than I like the Broncos offense vs the Panthers defense.
Carolina wins, and fairly easily.

If Carolina wins, where do they rank as a team all time? People talk about their defense (and rightfully so) but their offense scored over 500 points in the regular season. They went 15-1 and have a chance to win the super bowl. They've completely destroyed some good teams along the way too.

I know a lot of people get stuck on those old 49ers teams and some of the other great teams but the Panthers deserve the recognition.. it's just one season so we will have to see if they can sustain it but for just one season.. not too many better.
And there is no reason they can't sustain it, most of their key players are pretty young and what they did this year was without their best WR...
I think thats going to limit how "great" the Seahawks are going to be, they got auper lucky and had three of their best players making basically nothing for 4 years and could load up on other positions..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Cam got his $100 million last summer. But I agree, Kuechly, Norman and a few others are going to want paid over the next year or two so they may have to make some choices..
This. I find it hard to root for that team. Really conflicted when they played NE as I am tired of them. Was interesting to see how a team used to getting calls reacts when not getting them.
I spend a lot of time in RTP for work and know a lot of Carolina fans, I'll pull for them. I knew I'd be rooting for the NFC team before the conference champion games were played, though.
I'm torn between rooting for ward or the panthers. Ward is my favorite player.

Would you rather see Ward with a ring, or Derek Anderson
DA helped us win more games than Ward did.

You know Peyton is going to put everything he's got left into this one. He needs a 2nd ring. Can you imagine being punked by Eli the rest of your life if he doesn't?
Does anyone think in the world of hindsight that had Carolina not had that sloppy loss to Atlanta, and had made it the the playoffs unbeaten, that they wouldn't have made the SB? Too much pressure, etc?
Also, they have to be the least hyped 1 loss team in NFL history.

I dunno. But man DA almost led us to the playoffs. I still think about what if....

My first attempt to care about a game I don't care about is to count the former Browns on each team. In this case its a push; TJ Ward and Jordan Norwood in Denver vs DA and Fozzy Whittaker in Carolina. My backup plan is to count former Buckeyes, which favors Carolina. They have WRs Corey Brown, Ted Ginn, S Kurt Coleman, and OG Andrew Norwell while Denver has only TE Jeff Heuerman and CB Bradley Roby. Clear edge to Carolina.

Manning gets elusive #2 and closes the gap on the better QB, Manning vs Brady.
He sails off into the sunset straight to Berea as the Browns new GM after Haslam gives him an ownership share.
I think this game comes down to the same thing that has decided the playoff games after the Wildcard games, and that is: who wins the battles between the o-lines and front the front sevens for each team.
Cam has been getting all day to throw. Clean pockets. But, he will fail miserably if Denver can pressure him the way they pressured Brady. No way will Cam be able to make good throws and decisions w/that much pressure in his face. However, if Carolina's line can protect him, Cam will continue to make plays.
On the other side of the ball, I think Denver's OL is suspect and Carolina can rush the passer. If Manning is pressured, he will turn the ball over multiple times. I think Denver is going to really have to game-plan to minimize the number of times Manning drops back and the WRs run their normal route trees.
