Barnidge To Pro Bowl Browns TE Gary Barnidge named to Pro Bowl In the Film Room: Barnidge Talks Touchdowns Gary Barnidge's career year isn't over yet. The Browns' veteran tight end, who set personal bests in every receiving category and flirted with a handful of franchise records, will represent the Browns in the 2016 Pro Bowl. Barnidge was originally listed as an alternate but found out today he'd be replacing New England's Rob Gronkowski, who is unable to participate because of an injury, in Sunday's all-star event. Barnidge will join Browns offensive linemen Joe Thomas and Alex Mack at Sunday's Pro Bowl, which kicks off at 6 p.m. and will air on ESPN. "I am very appreciative of this honor," Barnidge said. "It is a privilege to be able to represent the Browns and our great fans at the Pro Bowl. One of the best things about this is that I get to share this experience with Joe and Alex." Barnidge came into his eighth NFL season with 44 receptions, 603 yards and three touchdowns. Given the opportunity to thrive as the No. 1 tight end for the first time in his professional career, Barnidge made the most of it, leading all Browns receivers with 79 receptions for 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns. Barnidge tied Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome with the most touchdowns by a tight end in Browns franchise history and was second for most yards. Among NFL tight ends, he finished tied for second in third-down receptions (24), third in receiving average (13.2), third in 25-yard receptions (nine), third in receiving yards (1,043), fourth in receptions (79) and tied for fourth in touchdowns (nine). Barnidge joins Newsome (three), Milt Morin (two), Kellen Winslow and Jordan Cameron as the only Browns tight ends selected to the Pro Bowl. The 2016 Pro Bowl Draft is set for Wednesday, as NFL legends Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin will pick the teams that will square off at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Yeah... he wouldn't have had to wait if he were on a more flashy team with the big season he had, IMO anyway... but well deserved. He's a beast on the field and he's a real man and gentlemen/role model off it.
Big Play Gar!

Good for him! Should have already been named but better late than never. Put Gordon with Benjamin and Barnidge, that's some threats out there next season.

He deserves it. He was like a mini Gronk out there this year.

I think WR is a priority, although we have a few priorities. But getting a big WR is a must in the draft somewhere.

Is not only good because he is a Brown, it's also good because he is a good person and an example for other players.

Fantastic!
Barnidge works as hard as anyone, and had a great year. He absolutely deserves a trip to the Pro Bowl.

Not to damper on the mood, but just honedtly curious..
Besides Joe, Mack, and Jamir Miller.. have we ever had a Pro Bowler that wasnt an alternate?
Possibly Gordon, Cribbs as a returner, etc..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Jordan Cameron ... who? Good for Gary! After seeing him struggle w his hands in the preseason I was ready to turn him loose. I have been wrong before, but this was about as wrong as I could have been.

The Pro Bowl is a joke obviously.
But holy crap, no one wants to go this year..
Like 40 people have declined the invitation.

Now it's not even NFC vs AFC any longer and your own team members could be on different squads. Other than watching basketball I can't imagine something worse to watch on TV.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
