Rank as many on the list that you feel comfortable ranking.

Rank them by the order you think they will be drafted, not by who you like the most.

I'll try to figure out a consensus opinion.

Also add any info about the QB or any personal opinion you have as well.

For the people that look at tape, things get easier to spot when you are watching for something somebody else mentioned. I know there are quite a few guys on here that would be thankful.

Matt Johnson from Bowling Green should at least be on the list I think. He's way better than Stave and Frohnapfel IMO. Beautiful touch on the deep ball, but I am always a sucker for that (Stephen Morris, Carr, etc.)

I don't want to rank them in order I think they'll be drafted, I want to rank them in order I like them, lol.

I don't need to rank 30 QBs, first because I don't sit around watching tape..

Right now, from what I've read its..

1 Goff
2 Wentz/Lynch

I really have no interest in taking a QB deeper than that and I really am not a fan of Cook.

Either cut Manziel and draft big.. or keep Manziel and don't draft a QB at all.

I guess it's the senior bowl but Lynch has dropped out of the media.. I am still more intrigued by him than I am Wentz... but that's subject to change.

From Walter Football

In speaking to coaches that attended the Senior Bowl, the only quarterback who truly impressed them was North Dakota State's Carson Wentz. The other quarterbacks were all viewed as being backup quality. Teams really liked Dak Prescott in the team interviews and feel he has excellent football character. He could go in the top half of Day 3. Alabama quarterback Jacob Coker is viewed more as a late-rounder. They feel he has a long wind-up and is a statue in the pocket. One coach said that Coker is a poor man's Mike Glennon.

Yeah, I get the same read. I understand he has fans here, but I just don't get it.

Good to see that Wentz and Prescott are impressing. I think both could be special if given time.

Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan has some fans with teams. They feel that he may never be an effective starter, but they do believe that he could be a good backup quarterback. They like his intelligence and feel he will pick up their playbook quickly. Sources from a playoff team said they would consider taking Hogan as soon as the third-round to upgrade their backup signal-caller.

The Los Angeles Rams are clearly in the quarterback market and sources say their favorite signal-caller right now is Carson Wentz. Perhaps as the process gets further along, Cal's Jared Goff will rise in the eyes of the Rams, but it looks very likely that the Rams would have to trade up to land either Goff or Wentz as they won't get out of the top 10 and to LA's pick at 15.

Are there any other positions on the field besides QB? Do the Browns have any other needs besides QB? Was QB the biggest reason the Browns lost games this year? Do you guys know how to talk about anything else?

DE, OLB, ILB, WR maybe a lineman if somebody leaves... it would be easier to say what we don't need, but I think the writing on the wall with Hue is that we are taking a QB with the first pick. Bosa is a possibility, but probably the only other possibility and It would be hard to do a thread just about him.

It's really hard to talk too much about the prospects at the other spots until we get closer to the combine.

It's all about the top pick right now and that will be a QB or Bosa. Only so much you can say in a Bosa thread.

Yes. Yes. No. Yes.

If you want to talk about something other than QBs, you should probably look in a thread without QB in the title. Or start one. But why do that when you can complain instead?

Too bad Lynch and Goff are underclassmen. Would have been nice to size up all the prospects side by side at the senior bowl.

You guys think you know that the Browns are going to draft a qb at number 2, but you really don't know that.

This is a weak qb class in my opinion. Taking a qb at number just because of a perceived need could be a disaster. There are numerous qb threads. No one seems to want to talk about the other positions. But man...........the Browns have needs at other positions and the talent is better at those positions.

I think Treadwell is a reach at #2. There are are few more defensive players that I like better than Bosa at two, but nobody else is going to want to talk about them.

The guy I would like a #2 is Deforest Buckner, but that would go over like a lead balloon in this group.

So...........it's not like they have a long history of being right. smile

I don't want this guy at number 2, but I am really intrigued by Spence. His burst off the LOS is awesome. I think he will be a fearsome pass rusher in the NFL. Some team is going to luck into him.........well, it may not be luck, but they are going to reap huge rewards.

He's a good pick if he's still there at #32. a Bosa/Spence combo would do wonders on our front 7.

I'm floored by where Hogan keeps getting ranked. I've watched a ton of Stanford games and I'm just not sure why he keeps getting ranked so low. I don't have specific insight, so maybe his release is not fixable, that's about the best I can come up with.

Smart kid, good football player, more athletic than he looks, can make all the throws, in a pro offense...not sure why he's a 6th rounder in a QB weak draft.

He might not be a starter on day 1, but the kid is a good player.

He has a pretty horrific throwing motion that's going to take a lot of work. That's it. He'll get drafted as a back-up somewhere where they can work on it for a while.

He's done stupid things like Gordon though. There were rumors of him being an ecstasy addict and Spences parents begged Urban to talk to him.

Yeah, I know. He would be ranked very, very high if not for that.

It's a legit concern, but I did read that he has passed numerous drug tests this year.

He was the best player on the field today. Now It's matter of a team taking a chance. I think someone will before he falls to #32.

I am not in favor of taking a QB at #2 but if I were to do so it would be Paxton Lynch. I believe he has the tools to be the Elite QB from this draft class. I go back to that game against Bowling Green am just blown away with the throws this kid made. Hell his best throws were dropped but he didnt let it get to him. He just kept hitting them and mostly they kept dropping them lol.

The Auburn game he and his team were just completely overmatched but work with this kid and he can be a star in this league.

hell I would probably bring in RG3 as well. I was his worst critic but believe he has now been in the NFL long enough that he might actually be ready to be an NFL QB at least It wont cost anything to test it out. I dont cut Manziel either, he would be inactive reserve for the year. We gotta find a QB and do whatever it takes. His money is guaranteed so cutting him doesnt help and u couldnt trade him for Greg hardy at this point lol.

I've been watching about of games of the Qb's on draft breakdown. Lynch, Goff, and Wentz. Here are my evaluations.

Lynch:

Positives - Great size and escapability. Very strong arm. Throws a very nice long ball and good touch on the short passes. Overall a pretty good decision maker.

Negatives - Tends to throw off his back foot, though when he does he doesn't seem to lose much accuracy or velocity. But this could be an issue at the next level. Tends to trust his arm too much at times. Biggest downside is the offense he ran at Memphis. Their offense was completely ridiculous and in no way even remotely resembles an NFL offense.

Overall - If he can learn to understand an NFL offense then I can see him turning into a Cam Newton type player. If he can't then he'll be relegated to Tannahill status. I have heard nothing about his work ethic (good or bad). I hear rumor that he was a good leader but these 2 intangibles need to be confirmed. If they can be then I would be very happy if we took him at #2.

Goff:

Positives - Natural thrower. When he throws it it effortless and the ball zips in there. Good decision maker. From all I hear he is very football smart and a tremendous worker. A true film junky.

Negatives - Everything I read about him praises his accuracy. God help me, I don't see it. He misses a lot of open receivers and even his completions require the receiver to reach for it. Thin frame. Has been filling out but needs to develop more physically.

Overall - I saw him as a freshman and he caught my interest. Loved him as a sophomore and was really high on hm going into this year. But after looking at multiple games this year, I was severely disappointed. He should have stayed for his senior season and given his body more time to fill in. I just can't get over his accuracy issues. Why is my evaluation of his accuracy so different than the pundants? Am I that off or are they? I cannot endorse taking him at #2. I would take him at #32 but cannot see him lasting that long. I certainly wouldn't count on it.

Wentz:

I don't know how to evaluate him. Watching him he looks great. Hard to find any major flaws. But against inferior competition. I hear he is a hard worker and tremendous leader. But how is he any different than Brock Jensen (The NDST Qb before him)? If our brain trust loves him, I can get excited about taking him at #2. But I just don't know how to make that evaluation myself.

Wentz is more accurate than Jensen was. Jensen also had a strong arm but tended to overthrow guys on deeper routes because he would throw so hard. But your point is a good one I think. He really didn't make an IMPACT to his team, and this was at the FCS level. They were champions before him. Without him this season, they went undefeated and won all three playoff games leading up to the title game. I haven't gotten to watch the Senior Bowl yet, but saying that the talent differential between north and south team didn't allow him to really stand out just reiterates that he is a piece, and not an impact player. Not someone I would use a first round pick on.

I will say, for Goff's faults, you are much likely to win a game because of Goff than because of Wentz. It's a tough thing for me to quantify or describe fully, but there is a difference between guys who are good players who execute correctly and guys who will do things that make you win the game.

Goff is a better game manager. He understands what he needs to do to limit his risks and still get the first downs. That is a quality that you usually don't find without years of experience. I think Wentz and Lynch have a few more tangibles, but this one intangible is something you just don't see often and wins football games.

Jester the Goff inaccuracy to the edge is very reminiscent of Brady Quinn. Everything has to be down the middle. Again, I know some teams will love him but I dont see him as an ideal fit for the Browns offense.

If I wait till round 2. I have no issues taking a shot on Coker. I think he is just now scratching the surface of his ability. He can come in be your game manager while he learns.

Wentz, I like the kid but he is gonna be way overdrafted and I cant see the analytics department writing off on a small school QB with limited experience.

I dont hate this QB class, I just am not wowed by it. Lynch is really the only one that gives me that Wow factor and I think at the end of the day if we take a QB high, he is the one I take.

I disagree with the take of Goff as a game manager. Maybe it's that he doesn't have the strongest arm that is triggering those associations, but he is definitely a challenger. I agree with Jester that he doesn't have great accuracy, especially downfield, but he takes his shots for sure.

I actually meant it as a compliment that he takes smart risks and knows when to take them. He just makes better use of his options.

Agreed, he's a gunner.

I want to like Kevin Hogan, but his throwing motion is worse than Tebows. It's like a horrible jump shot, nothing can fix it at this point.

It's weird....but, Hogan is a guy that really interests me. He burst on the scene a few years ago. Really fell off the map last year, but his dad was dying. Played much better this past year.

Lot's of guys w/funky motions. Rivers, Bernie, Teddy, etc.......I haven't studied a bunch of these guys because I am unimpressed w/the top of the group, but I might look into Hogan a bit more and will let you know.

Oh............and that is only for those of you who have come to appreciate my qb evaluations over the years. It won't be for anyone who is looking for an argument.

Similar to my opinion on Hackenberger. The guy looked like the next Manning and then bam everything with the guy just fell off. I know there was a coaching change but wow. makes it very hard to judge what u see with him.

I think there's a better chance he's a UDFA than getting drafted in the 3rd. He's a worse version of AJ Mccaron.

He's solid to good at everything except his throwing mechanics. He's throws like a windmill.
