I am a disposed StL Rams Fan and I've made an executive decision to follow the Cleveland Browns. This is not a decision I've made lightly. I've always liked the Browns (not gung-ho) but I'm a home town team guy.

I decided at this time to throw my hat in with the Browns because:

1) Despite the bad taste the Rams leaving left in my mouth, I love football too much to just shun the NFL entirely.
2) I like the direction the Browns are headed, with Hue Jackson (I'm a fan) as their head coach. It also helps that we are both black guys.
3) I feel the Browns are trending up. It would be easy for me to jump on a bandwagon but I wanted to follow a team that did not have a recent history of winning and I could really get invested in as it went from the bottom to the top. Or at least clawed for respectability. Not too dissimilar to my former team.
4) I like the passion of the fan base.

So you got me. I'm not going to be a fair weather fan either. I'm gonna stick with the Browns from here on out. Heck or High water, think or thin.

Oh, and the Jim Brown story. A while ago, I was working for a radio show in STL and we got celebrities in the Studio all the time. Movie stars, comedians, you name it. I even almost got punched in the face by Randy Orton (another story for another time). Anyway, one day we had the HOF great Jim Brown in studio. Now, I'm the type of guy who doesn't get star struck by many, but when I went to the green room to let Mr. Brown know we were ready for him, it was a different feeling. It was like I was in the presence of true greatness. I know that sounds corny but it was truly an honor to be in the same room as he. It's a feeling I'll never forget.

So that's my story. I look forward to posting and debating with the other passionate fans on this forum.

Well, at least you rooted for a team that won a Super Bowl.

Welcome

Do you know if anyone voted against the move? I've had real problems with it, and I was hoping that we might have voted against it. Especially after what happened to us and Baltimore.

I just hate seeing cities lose their teams.

Why they didn't move just move the Raiders there is beyond me......... Nobody goes to Raiders games and LA is filled with Raider fans.

Oakland fans still have the 49ers a short step away.

Anyway, hopefully the Browns get better...... And I'm sorry for what happened. NFL Owners prove all the time that this is a business, and they don't actually care about the city their team plays for.

well my friend. welcome, the door is always open to welcome new fans. it's not easy being a Browns fan. but once you are...you'll find you can never be a fan of any other team...just can't...and am sorry you lost your team, we all know how that feels.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm sorry for the loss of the Rams. It shouldn't have happened.

Welcome to the board. About that font color - don't be surprised if some readers think you're being sarcastic - posters use purple around here to connote sarcasm, and your font color is pretty close.

Or maybe you ARE being sarcastic about adopting the Browns? wink

Judging from the 20 or so posts welcoming me, I think I'm gonna like this forum.

As for the font color, I've always used some purple (favorite color of mine) for my posts. Hopefully no one mistakes my passion for sarcasm. Or vice versa...we'll see over time.

And I may not know "Cleveland football" pain as many of you do, I fully understand the searing frustration of watching mind-numbing decisions affect a football team, as well as getting your pre-season hopes up only to have them dashed on the rocks so early into the season. But hey, at least you have a owner who gives a (bleep) about your city.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

I think two owners voted against the move. It's all moot now. I have all but excised the Rams from my thoughts.

It was very difficult because I never really followed football before playing it in HS, and by that time the Rams were coming to town so that was my first real, hometown team. To see the mismanagement of the team for so long yet we still kept coming to games, then knowing they were probably moving but never really believing it till it happened, was heart breaking.

Welcome to you, Timmy. Glad to see a new fan! Hope you find it great experience.

Pick a different font color maybe. Or are you playing an April Fool's Day joke trolling in purple? Means sarcasm or tongue in cheek.

I admire your guts, Timmyfriend, but question your judgment a tad. Buckle up! Always a thrilla.

I think we as Browns fans that have lived it, breathed it and experienced it since they return - would recommend vetoing your executive decision to hop on board.

The professional American football team now known as the Los Angeles Rams was established in Cleveland, Ohio, and played there from 1936 to 1945. This article chronicles the team's history during their time as the Cleveland Rams. The Rams competed in the American Football League (1936) and the National Football League (1937-1945), and winning the NFL championship in 1945, before moving to Los Angeles in 1946 to become the only NFL champion ever to play the following season in another city.[1] The move of the team to Los Angeles helped to jump-start the reintegration of pro football by African-American players and opened up the West Coast to professional sports.

After being based in Los Angeles, California, for nearly a half-century, the Rams franchise moved again after the 1994 NFL season to St. Louis, Missouri. In 2016, they will move back to Los Angeles.[2]

All I can say is welcome. Becoming a Browns fan is either a brave move or a crazy move. Not really sure which. lol

St. Louis has had a rough time. First losing the Cardinals and now the Rams. I saw that you are really too young to remember the pain of your city losing the Cardinals, but wow, a double whammy to be sure.

Anyway, welcome and enjoy the ride, as bumpy as it may be.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Welcome aboard. There are no fair weather Browns fans, that's for sure.

Sorry, bro but I'm not an NBA fan anymore. I was in the 90's but I've kinda soured on the style of play. To each their own I guess.

Any suggestions on a different font color, seeing as how my chosen shade is not kosher. I don't want to rub people the wrong way. I'll keep trying some out and see if people yell at me. Is there a color that does not have some hidden meaning behind it. I like the orange on black but I also want to be different. thumbsup
