I am still confused by this "logic." What exactly do the Kardashians provide? Someone else's life to focus on rather than one's own. They provide a diversion, a distraction from the important things that are too hard to think about and way too hard to actually do anything about. Gossip is easier.

I get that..........but if the public places more importance on that than education, perhaps they should stop complaining about the quality of education in this country.

It's no wonder why entertainment's biggest growths, in this country, correlates to severe economic depression. Movies, Radio, and pulp books all came as ways to deal with The Great Depression. These offered new venues for people to escape from their day and enter new worlds. This is what the Kardashians offer. Escapism. Possibly to a greater extent than most entertainment in the Great Depression, due to our love for lavish things.

With all the coin this guy said he brought in, how can he be $53 million in debt - personal debt?
I guess he isn't all the thought he was?
Spend spend spend, thinking his self proclaimed "genius" would bail him out?
He could have ........ah, never mind. His "genius" was thinking people cared about him. Like he was some "sent from God" person. Sadly, he'll sink like too many others who think they're all that.

i guess that's relative.
and that also depends on what social circles you run in.
one thing i'm noticing is that a lot of people's opinion are based off what they observe within the limits of their own circle.
i see very few groups with worldly views on anything.
prime example that i bring up a lot: most people didn't know Georgia was a country until russia invaded them.
Most people also don't know that Iranian's are persians, they aren't arab, and if you call one an arab, it's gonna be problems.
teenagers, whether they are in private school or public school( i had the fortune of going to both) still care more about fashion and celebrity gossip than their education, in general.
because people are still trying to find themselves at that age.
like for me, i cared about passing my classes. but you know what the biggest thing going on was when i was a freshman/sophmore?
"yo bruh, did you hear that Jay-z/eminem track 'renegade'? em killed jay-z on his own track!!!"
because expecting kids to act like adults and value something YOU deem more important is going to lead to disappointment pretty much 9 times out of 10.
as far as this relates to kanye/kim K, it's just this new batch of HS students who this appeals to the most.
there's an equivalent version of kanye/kim k in every generation. and then every past generation are always crying about "These kids care more about <insert thing> than <insert thing>, when the reality is that you guys were in the same boat prior to us.
this is the part where somebody goes "i always valued my education before anything else in high school".
thats great, thanks for being a special snowflake, now for the rest of society, thats simply how it works.

his clothing line is trash bro.
the only thing that was a slam dunk was the Air Yeezy's. they are constantly sold out. look how much they are going for on ebay.
but nobody is buying that trash he calls cloths.
let's not even get into that disaster streaming app Tidal, that jay-z drug kanye into. people started selling off shares, and now they aren't even on the stock exchange anymore, if i believe.
then, one thing people aren't taking into consideration is that people aren't buying kanye's stuff simply because kanye's name is attached to it. as a public figure, he's hated. the only people buying his merchandise is the loyalist.

Well, in reading your reply to vers, I must say: Don't know where you grew up, or how you grew up. Don't care that at your school schools, jay z vs. eminem was the hot topic.
If that's how it was for you, great. If that's how it is for most kids? Country is screwed.

no, because it's always been like that.
kids go to school and pass, some are really smart and excel.
if you was different, fine. but are you gonna sit there and really tell the board that when you was in high school, people weren't trying to have the latest fashion, tech, and talking about the latest celebrity gossip?
even when i got put into a private school, it was the same thing, except the fashion trends was even worse because we had to wear uniforms. man, them chicks use to be like superman as soon as school was over. change clothes so fast and then hit the mall.
so if the country is screwed, it's been screwed since fashion trends and gossip was a thing.
so pretty much since 1776.

I don't know about all that.
I will say I wasn't fashion conscious in school. 3 years playing in summer basketball camp - a shirt for each year, plus a shirt for the year we won. That gave me 4 shirts to wear. And I did.
Last years basketball shoes became "this" years go to school shoes.
Until I got a job. Then, last years basketball shoes got painted. Like Jordans, but not quite so good.
The cleats I wore for games in 8th grade? Yeah, mom and dad bought them big. I wore them for practice til I graduated. Scouts honor.
I've never been a "fashion" guy - never will be. Judge me by what I wear? Your loss.
My son is/was different. Not when he lived with me though. My daughter? Eh....we're working with her. There's a group of kids that are all about "what you wear is what you are". And there's a good group of kids that don't give a rip about what you wear.

You know that stuff is like 1k a shirt, right? Probably why you don't see too many people wearing it... It's high fashion, it doesn't apply to the rules of normal fashion. You ain't see anyone wear Rick Owens, but you see the aesthetic in every HBA, Adidas Y-3, Been Trill garb. That said, I don't doubt Ye doesn't have money. High Fashion isn't a money maker. He's just dumb with his money trying to live his kid fantasy's. Who cares?

and that's his problem.
he doesn't have the name yet to think he can get people to buy his high end fashion.
people buy Armani, Versace, Vutton, etc because they have been around forever and they have the backing.
Rockawear was urban clothing, it was affordable, anybody could wear it.
kanye tried to go big instead of taking steps first.
and i care because it's one of my interest. i'm sure you care about something that nobody else could care less about.

I meant, "Who cares that Kanye doesn't have money" not "Who cares about Kanye?" Because I love Kanye. I love Kanye so much I even think his new album is a solid 8.5

the people who buy kanye's stuff cares. the hip hop community probably does, too. i know Ebro and Rosenburg were talking about that, and how it might have an effect on other artist trying to create a global brand.

Not to be rude, but again, who cares? Fans will be fans regardless. If Kanye's personal success falters, than his art will only make him better. Also, The Hip Hop Community, especially Rosenburg, have always been one of the most detrimental things to hip hop.

i don't agree with that. it has huge implications to the market if this guy is in debt this bad and possibly goes bankrupt.

When I was in HS, faded Levi's, Unbuttoned flannel shirt with a Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd or Tok-Rite bongs tee, workboots and an Army surplus jacket were all you needed.

Some more news to this story.............. Kanye is on twitter begging Mark Zuckerberg to invest in him....... I love this line from Kanye to Zuckerberg in a tweet "You love hip hop, you love my art… I am your favorite artist but you watch me barely breathe and still play my album in your house …" The Newark Public Schools were a better investment for Zuckerberger than Yeezy would be http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/35...mark-zuckerberg

I don't understand how some arrogant black man is getting such attention. The more attention he gets, the more he'll crave it.
I wish we could deport him to Mexico.

Now it's "racial driven comment". Nothing deeper than the general comment that he's a black guy. Sorry to dissapoint ya.

they provide a product, the people buy the product. I'm pretty sure that what the Kardashians are famous for would be considered providing a service, not a product.

I found a good deal (30% off) on one of Kanye's sweatshirts. It's a fashionable dark gray sweatshirt (pre-torn for convenience) for the low price of $1,820.00. There's one more available in case anybody's interested. http://www.thecorner.com/item/index?cod1...CFQIOaQodd-cPdA

Those tweets alone make me sick.
Who does this guy think he is?
He wants to "help the world" by being a so called "artist"?
Please, the guy needs to just take care of his family, with his ability to buy furs and homes, yet he's $53 million in debt?
The guy is delusional.

Looks like the sweater I got at my regimental college if it was left out in the middle lane of the Cross Bronx Expressway for a few hours. Cant say I understand "high fashion". Without a label on the back, most folks would think you were homeless wearing something like that........ But I don't spend much on clothes, so I dunno. I'm a swetpants and jeans guy, and I've found that 10$ jeans at Walmart last as long as Levis, and with my butt shifting forward lately, I'm just not that concerned with fit anymore

I don't get this fashion either. To me 'high fashion' for a guy would be more like a dark, tailored suit with appropriately shined shoes and matching accessories. Don't get me wrong-- I'm not really a suit wearing guy, I wear one a handful of times per year at most, I'm just saying that it's a look that will command my respect.
Sometimes there are social media posts from NFL/NBA players and they're often wearing all these weird skin tight clothes with all kinds of goofy, mismatched colors. I don't get that either... I must be getting old.

yo 3rd, i found the kanye west of the medical field. ‘I’m the hero!’: Surgeon allegedly rams car into cop after ‘assault’ http://nypost.com/2016/02/19/surgeon-who-rammed-cop-with-car-said-she-was-the-real-hero-prosecutor/A cancer surgeon with a God complex boasted that her job saving lives made her far superior to the lowly NYPD officers who hauled her away in cuffs for hitting a cop with her car in Midtown, prosecutors said Friday. “I am a doctor. I have patients who are dying. I’m the hero; the cops are not!” Dr. Rachel Wellner, 40, told police when she was arrested for striking an officer’s leg with her Volvo on Thursday to avoid a parking ticket, prosecutors said at her arraignment. Modal Trigger Rachel Wellner appears in court on Feb. 19.Photo: Steven Hirsch “I don’t accept a summons. The police assaulted me,” she allegedly said. –– ADVERTISEMENT –– Police sources said Wellner — who was released without bail on charges including resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident — was “a hot mess” when she was busted. “She was saying, ‘I don’t have time for this. I have to get to the hospital,’ ” the police source said. “Officers were trying to reason with her about the summonses, but she wasn’t having it. So she jumped in her car as the officer was trying to cuff her, and she sped off hitting the officer.” After she was arrested in her green scrubs, Wellner burst into tears and threw a fit about being handcuffed, punctuating her griping with medical jargon, the police source said. “She started complaining that they were too tight. She wanted to sound smart, like she was above us all, and she made some comment that ‘It’s hurting the such-and-such nerve in my hand,’ ” the source said. “And everyone was like, ‘Just shut up and sit down!'” Wellner, a breast-cancer specialist at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, claimed cops manhandled her before she rammed Officer Niguel Vega’s leg on West 55th Street and Eighth Avenue. Watch video of the confrontation: 0:00 / 0:08 “Help, the police are assaulting me!” she allegedly yelled when she was stopped by the cops at around 11 a.m. Vega tried to cuff the doctor, but she flailed her arms and jumped up and down on her car while screaming and cursing, a police source told The Post. She then jumped into the car and kicked at the cops before peeling off with her door open and striking Vega in the leg, the source said. Video obtained by The Post shows her speed off and the cop’s ticket book go flying. She was collared moments later on West 53rd Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues. Dr. Rachel Wellner outside the Midtown North Police PrecinctPhoto: Christopher Sadowski On Friday, Wellner appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court, teary-eyed and wearing wrinkled brown slacks and a black blazer. Wellner and her attorney, Alan Futerfas, declined to comment outside the courthouse. Witnesses said her claims of police brutality were fabricated. “She was screaming like she was being killed, and that wasn’t the case,” said David Kenefick, 55, of Caldwell, NJ, who works construction. “They weren’t being overly aggressive. She got crazy. “She didn’t act like a doctor. She acted like a moron. She’s an idiot.” Another witness, George Williams, 50, of The Bronx, said: “All [the cops] were doing is giving her a ticket. And she’s yelling, ‘Help me, please! God, help me! I’m being harassed.’ And she was not being harassed.” Wellner, who received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth in 1997, begged The Post on Thursday to withhold her name for fear she would lose her job. Montefiore officials have declined to comment. Additional reporting by Rebecca Rosenberg, Khristina Narizhnayaand Natalie O’Neill

Kanye West Is Reportedly Threatening A Lawsuit Against The Pirate Bay Over 'The Life Of Pablo'https://news.yahoo.com/kanye-west-reportedly-threatening-lawsuit-162813660.htmlBy Phoenix 7 hours ago Kanye West is apparently considering a lawsuit against elusive torrent giant The Pirate Bay after The Life of Pablo leaks appeared on the download site. West released the album exclusively for streaming on Tidal, yet the album quickly appeared on The Pirate Bay and other torrent sites, resulting in hundreds of thousands of downloads. According to Torrent Freak, West is mad at the potential loss in millions of dollars due to these downloads. He’s reportedly meeting with his legal team to discuss the possibility of legal action against The Pirate Bay. Pirate Bay officials are not afraid of West. Staff member Spud17 said as much to Torrent Freak: “Kanye West is a blithering twat who has an incredible sense of self-importance…as for Mr. West suing TPB, good luck Kanye!”Even Pirate Bay co-founder Peter Sunde threw shade at Tidal: “The album was only released on Tidal, so I’m impressed it got leaked anyhow since fewer people pass by there than at Fort Knox. He should be happy someone cares enough to listen to it, so that they signed up for an account to stream the low quality music you get at Tidal.”Newsy also points out how difficult it is to shut down sites like The Pirate Bay. Since the website can easily switch addresses and torrenting is so decentralized in the first place, it’s hard to shut them down at the source. Kanye West is hardly the first, after tons of legal action against Pirate Bay officials over the years. So good luck to Kanye on this one. Even if he doesn’t succeed, the battle is sure to be entertaining in the public sphere.
