And you know what? the NFL is rapidly becoming what nascar has become. A money whore. Paying ungodly sums of money to people that don't deserve it, all due to the salary cap.
The money is there so where should it go, the owner's pockets?
Players are getting more money in part because of the new rookie scale. Was a time a rookie, without ever playing a snap, would get $40-50 Million using up a big chunk of players salary.
Now with limits put on rookie contracts there's more money and that is directed towards veteran players.
The cap keeps rising because the money keeps rolling in. The veteran players are getting more because the rookie contracts aren't sucking teams dry.
It's all good to me.
