Whitesides knocked the HELL out of Curry on a screen. and if teams grow a set of Cajones , I thin that may show tobe the way to slow Steph down. Rough him up, bang him around. Make him hit FTS, but make him hit FTs with a knot on his forehead.

Make him hit FTS, but make him hit FTs with a knot on his forehead. By make him hit free throws, you mean let him hit free throws? Free points for everyone! If this was a valid strategy don't you think a team would have tried it by now?

Not really, todays NBA is soft. It is soft by design. It turns out the league is more entertaining when its best players aren't getting clotheslined at the rim.

That was the intent, but they let it swing too far in the soft direction. There is nothing wrong with a good, hard, clean, foul.

Basketball is not about fouling guys to "teach them a lesson" it is about athletic ability and skill. Also, Curry got crushed on a hard screen last night. He then proceeded to drop buckets on the heads of the Heat for the rest of the night.

it is about athletic ability and skill. It is way more than that. Most bb players are physically and mentally tough. It's not a game for the timid.

I didn't list all the attributes of a basketball player. My point was that basketball is not about fouling guys hard because they are better than you.

I wasn't really disagreeing w/you. I wanted to clarify that because people read things on here and then automatically believe them. I will say that hard fouls have been part of the game for as long as I can remember. And I'm really old.

And then Curry torched the Heat.

Nice moving screen by Draymond last night.

It's the way the Warriors play. When you're known for it, you get away with it more. Similar to the Seahawks and DPI. They are perceived as a physical defense so they get away with more contact. No different with the Warriors and their illegal screens. I vividly remember Draymond cheating against the Jazz (twice) on a jump ball where he was going for the tip, too. He's just one of those guys; he takes advantage wherever can and however he can get away with.

It's not just the Warriors. Chris Paul gets away with a ton of fouls for the same reason.

If they called basketball correctly it would be unwatchable until the players adjusted.. many of those ankle breaking moves you see involve a carry.. most screens are moving.. there would be travelling every other possession.. all of those times they get a guy in the air and jump into him to shoot would be offensive fouls..

yeah looks like he's already been waived. I hope we can land him, he'd be a nice boost to our bench

One of the biggest issues this team has is its lack of playmaking in the second group coming off the bench. I think Joe Johnson would give that second unit a go to guy in the case some creativity play needs made.
Is he old? Yes. Is he slowing down? sure. But tell me one person in our second unit who strikes fear in to the eyes of our opponent? I think trading Andy was a two part move. One by getting a 3 point knock down guy that can play in any lineup, and the other was making salary cap room/dumping luxury tax money to get Joe Johnson.

The cap space would be for something else. If he signs with us it would be for a minimum contract since he was bought out.

How does Joe Johnson really help the Cavs?
Will he help the ball movement or will he be yet another guy who likes to dribble and then shoot the ball?
Are y'all familiar w/his game? I am.

What I meant was the only way the Cavs are going to get better at moving the ball is if LeBron and Kyrie start playing completely different.

Joe Johnson would be a pretty good fit on OKC.
I would never want to go to OKC though.

Lebron paying point is a thing of beauty though.
maybe we should make him and delly primary ball handlers from here on out.

They could play Kyrie at SG. It's about 50/50 between Lebron and Kyrie bringing it down anyway.
Lebron at point would be interesting against the Warriors.
