And if anyone thinks Trump cares more about his business than he does about America, check this out...

UAE-based developer Khalaf Al-Habtoor initially supported Donald Trump but now thinks Trump "damaged all his brand in all the Muslim countries."

What we are witnessing in America today is either the end of a Political Party or the Rebirth of a new Republican Party.

How all the involved parties handle it will decide it's fate.

Do you really believe that??

I think it will end up being business as usual weather he gets in or not...I hope I'm wrong because I'm sick of the politics in this country.

Its scary crap isnt it?? We citizens are giving up way to much control to the government and there are so many people dependant on income in one form or another from them that no one is going to do crap to disrupt it.

Man I was just talking about this very thing with as friend of mine.

i've always said, even though i hate the guy, if that's what the conservative voter wants, then give them trump.

the fact that the RNC is going against the will of the people is disgusting.

For those who are undecided on various issues, here are a few highlights from presidential candidate Bernie Sanders: 🇺🇸

Healthcare available for everyone as a right, so neither you or your employer will have to pay health insurance directly, it’s just provided for everyone as a human right through a small tax that will replace your current health insurance payments. His plan will end up saving the US $5 trillion in the next decade compared to what we currently spend on health care and will actually SAVE the average household about 5,000 every year and the average business about $10,000 a year. We are the ONLY major country in the world that doesn't provide health care for their people as a right.

He wants to make sure all women get at least 12-weeks of medical leave. This plan will only cost Americans $1.61 a week.

He wants to raise the minimum wage to $15 gradually within 4 years, a plan which top economists agree will strengthen our economy because the more money people make, the more they spend on products and services. When companies sell more products and services, they make more money and hire more people to meet those demands. This plan improves the quality of life and income for individuals as well as businesses.

He wants to cap credit card interest rates at 15%, he wants to cap ATM fees at $2 because people shouldn’t have to pay up to $4.50 ($2 from the ATM and $2 or $2.50 for using a different bank than your own) to take out THEIR OWN money especially since ATM’s save the banks money. He wants to equip the postal service with minor banking abilities so people in poor neighborhoods don’t have to go to paycheck advance places and get ripped off.

He wants to keep the police accountable when someone dies while in custody. He wants to end private prisons (the US has the highest incarceration rate in the world and has more people currently in prison than China - a COMMUNIST country with 4.3 times as many people as the US. WHAT?

He wants to give students the ability to refinance their student loans at a lower percentage rate and he acknowledges that a college degree is the same as a high school diploma in today's world and he feels that nobody should be deprived of an education because of their income or inability to pay off loans so he wants to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, this will be paid for through a tax on wall street speculation (high-risk investments). He wants to break up "too big to fail" banks to prevent another financial collapse. He also wants to put those that caused the financial collapse in jail. A kid can go to jail for years and have their life and record ruined for smoking marijuana but the crooks on wall street that destroyed the lives of billions of people all over the world with their reckless behavior and greed just got a $700 billion bailout and a slap on the wrist.

He wants to end loopholes that save companies like wal-mart billions ($6 billion last year) while they push their employees to sign up for government assistance and he wants to end loopholes that allow companies to keep their money stashed in the cayman islands and other “tax havens”.

He wants to close loopholes that allow people to buy guns online and at gun shows without background checks.

He is anti-war on all accounts.

He wants to expand social security so that when you retire, you have a decent income to keep you alive and happy, not just barely getting by.

He’s only 5 years older than Donald Trump, 6 years older than Hillary Clinton and 5 years YOUNGER than John McCain whose age became an issue 8 years ago when he ran against Obama and he’s still alive and well.

Today, 62 people own HALF of the world’s wealth...5 years ago that number was 388... Bernie cares about people like you and I...and he’s funded by people like you and I...he’s literally received more individual contributions ($27 average) than ANY presidential candidate EVER at this point in the race. We have a chance to change the course of history for ourselves, our children and our children's children.

Someone who is for us, don't miss your chance to make a difference you'll be sorry later for sure..JMHO

I would never vote for Bernie. His tax plan is insane and would seriously hurt the average american. He is delusional if he thinks congress will pass any of his ideas. A vote for him is a wasted vote. The guy is so extreme he isnt even vaguely electible.

What Bernie actually is, is to good to be true, only it is true. Imagine a political type who does things to better the life's of the citizenry unheard of I understand your apprehension.

Actually everything he has asked for is doable. And you deserve it even if you think you don't.

Nope he is an extreme left politician who wants to tax us to death and force us to suckle at the teat of the government.

No thanks I rather keep my money and make my own decisions on how to spend it. If you enjoy being a sucker for mr too good to be true, be my guest.

Eve, I have a small challenge for you:

I want you to read BTTB's post just above yours, and tell us- point by point, which platform items you directly disagree with. I mean, FLAT OUT OPPOSE. Then, tell us why.

I understand that you think he's unelectable, but that isn't the point of my challenge. When I get your answer, I'll follow up with WHY I wrote my challenge.

Good for you thumbsup I' in the class the guy wants to tax to death..so that is a no go for me...and if the stars align for the guy and he gets elected I will no longer donate the amount of money I do to all the various charities...and sorry to the poor waiters and waitress's no more giant tips for good service it will be 20% or way less depending on how bad or good the service is.

I'm not going to lie..I donate to charities to help with taxable income and I get some joy from it...but if this clown raises my taxes to a rate that he says he wants to do I'll just adjust it to what I give and be done with it.

No no no. It is not right to suck, I mean take other peoples hard earned money for your own wants and needs!

You should go out and work to pay for your own education.

It is the American thing to do after all.

Sounds good. But just what is this "small" tax? 2.2% of your income, and 6% of your income for the business to pay. That's technically an 8.2% tax increase. But, health care will be free, right?
Quote:

His plan will end up saving the US $5 trillion in the next decade compared to what we currently spend on health care

So, and 8.2% tax increase will save us 5 trillion over 10 years?
Quote:

and will actually SAVE the average household about 5,000 every year
I've heard this song and dance before. Remember how Obama care was going to save each household $2500 a year???
Quote:
and the average business about $10,000 a year.
I'm assuming you mean a savings of 10 grand per employee?
Quote:

He wants to make sure all women get at least 12-weeks of medical leave. This plan will only cost Americans $1.61 a week.
12 weeks of maternity leave? Or 12 weeks of medical leave for only women? Regardless, it's just another tax, right?
Quote:

Sounds great. Top economists agree that when people have more money, they spend more. Apparently the top economists forgot to mention, or Bernie neglected to include, that when the cost of business goes up, the cost of the goods or services go up as well. That, or the number of employees goes down, or some mix of the 2. And when the guy who's been at his job for 5 years finds out he's making the same as the person they just hired, he's going to want a raise. Don't you think?

Quote:

He wants to cap credit card interest rates at 15%, he wants to cap ATM fees at $2 because people shouldn’t have to pay up to $4.50 ($2 from the ATM and $2 or $2.50 for using a different bank than your own) to take out THEIR OWN money especially since ATM’s save the banks money. He wants to equip the postal service with minor banking abilities so people in poor neighborhoods don’t have to go to paycheck advance places and get ripped off.

That's all well and good. Sounds great that he wants to control what businesses can charge. Until it's YOUR business that he starts to control

I would love for officers to be held accountable. I didn't know they currently weren't. End private prisons. Great. We replace them with gov't. prisons. Dang, the cost of incarceration just went up.

I have no problem with students being able to refinance at a lower rate. How does that happen though? Gov't. mandates. Ok.

I'm not sure, but I don't think a kid smoking a joint goes to prison for years.

Free college for everyone? Sounds great. How's that free high school working out? We've got kids graduating h.s. that can't read, or do simple math. But, everyone deserves free college, right? Hey, who pays for that free college? Oh, another tax increase? Heck, even our school district tries to raise taxes almost every year.
Quote:

He wants to end loopholes that save companies like wal-mart billions ($6 billion last year)

I'm not familiar with these loopholes.

But if they're there, you can bet your bottom dollar new loopholes will show up.
Quote:

He wants to close loopholes that allow people to buy guns online and at gun shows without background checks.
Good. And good luck. Great thought, but how does it affect law abiding citizens? Minor inconveniences? If so, fantastic.

However, I think it was Swish that cited 80% of mass shootings are committed by people that legally owned guns and had had the background check. And further, mass murders don't account for many murders, relatively speaking, here in this country. In fact, homicides comprise only 31% total. Mass murders account for a fraction of those. Drugs, and gang shootings - let's stop those. Suicides account for 31% of shootings.

Quote:

He is anti-war on all accounts.
Fantastic!!
Quote:

He wants to expand social security so that when you retire, you have a decent income to keep you alive and happy, not just barely getting by.
How does he propose to do this? Raise taxes. Why is retirement for those that don't save enough for themselves considered a "right", anyway?

I don't know where you got the numbers in this last paragraph, and actually, you don't make it overly clear. 62 people in the world control/own half of the worlds wealth? How? Cash, stocks, business ventures? Quit buying the products they make. That'll teach them.

Anyway, on paper, he's got some great ideas. In reality, he needs more money to make any of them happen. Tax increases. Increased taxes. Pay more for all the free stuff.

When everyone gets paid more, we all pay more for things we buy. I'd love for their to be a plethora of good paying jobs right here in the states. Know why jobs left, and continue? Cheaper cost to make products over seas, and tax policy. (2 of the major reasons, anyway.)

This feel good crap about Bernie drives me up the wall. I'll say he has some good ideas, sure - it is how he wants to pay for them that is senseless.

This nonsense that it doesn't affect "people like you and me" that BTTB keeps spewing is ludicrous.

I find it interesting that the people that I keep seeing harping on his tax plan are myself, Eve, FB, and arch - all business owners. It is unbelievable that people will turn a blind eye on his horrendous tax plan "for the greater good". We'll see how that greater good works out if he somehow manages to get elected and get his tax plan approved.

edit
And I'm pretty sure OCD is a business owner as well and he is the boards official Bernie pimp so I'm not saying all business owners are anti-Bernie.

but honestly i expect nothing less nowadays from this board. you guys go ahead and combine power rings like you're working with captain planet. makes no difference to me. the elite group on this board? i never met eye to eye with you guys anyway.
