Going to be a tough situation for a rookie QB come in to. Even if they start McCown, he'll be pulverized in a game or two.

More proof as to how many players absolutely hate Shanny! Well, that's just a ridiculously absurd take on things - emphasis on ridiculous and absurd. Is Shanny both cutting the signing bonus checks and working as the OL coach now? Mack is all about maxing out his guaranteed money... I doubt Mack cares too much who he is blocking for, and looks more at simply what the blocking scheme is.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Atlanta's OL has been bad for years. It's one of the major reasons they have supposedly underachieved. Their D has been bad, as well.
Quinn and Shanny helped last year, but they need more talent on the OL and on defense.

Yeah I agree with that. I wanted us to re-sign these two because they're good players but also so we wouldn't have to pour more draft picks into the OL.

More absurd than people saying players hate playing for Shanny after Roddy White's comments?????

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

That the Browns are clueless???? I was thinking that they might have yanked the offer because they are close with someone else. Going off of the history of the team, you are probably correct.

Oh well............. The optimistic me thinks they have a deal in place with Mack and they don't want to pay a premium price for both. The pessimistic me thinks they are botching everything.

smith is twice the run blocker as Schwartz and while he isnt the pass blocker Schwartz has become, he is still pretty damn good.

Didn't Beachum tear his ACL or something like that last year?
Smith? He's okay. I think he gets penalized a lot.

according to PEter King, Mack will avg $9.5 Million / year in atlanta, could have gotten $10 million per in CLE, but left TO PLAY WITH SHANAHAN.
*edit -- playing with Shanahan "was a factor."

I am just going to leave this here and then bounce: Ex-Cle center Alex Mack will average @$9.5m in Atlanta deal. Could have made 500k more on ave in Cleve. Atl OC KShanahan a factor for Mack. https://twitter.com/SI_PeterKing/status/707630984750043137

If the Browns don't retain these FA, this could be a sign of some vets getting cut too. Just purge the roster and start ALL over.
