Ex-Cle center Alex Mack will average @$9.5m in Atlanta deal. Could have made 500k more on ave in Cleve. Atl OC KShanahan a factor for Mack.

A couple of things:

(1) You know nothing, Jason Pinkston.
(2) Mack could have had more money here. I think that lends itself more to getting out of Cleveland that everyone thought was going to happen.
(3) Good luck, Mack.

I fully expect a purge. Whitner, Kruger etc.. come to mind.

Didn't want to play here. At least we made an effort to keep him with a generous offer.

Offering more than they accepted will somehow mean we didnt try to keep them at all..

well, nobody can say we didn't try.

sometimes i wonder, our FO since...well forever says they aren't gonna make a splash in FA.

to me that translates to "nobody we want is interested in coming here".

And with Mack taking less money to bounce...well....

So Mack is taking less money to leave the Browns...so much for the BS we heard that he wanted to be a Brown. Can't blame these guys...they made the good offer. Wonder if we withdrew the offer to Schwartz cause we are being played again by Agents and he has no intentions of staying.

Nothing you can do with that. They don't want in and we know why it has nothing to do with Shanny...just a comfortable landing spot. But to get away from the instability of the Browns past.

We better get this instability monkey off our back and commit to this Regime to 5 years!

Look from the history of football that I can remember the FA winners don't really fair that well.

Sure if this next 2-3 years is our best chance to win a Championship or possibly more than Once...spend all you can possibly spend to do it!

Outside of that if we add one or two guys to help out Ok...

I do dislike losing our own guys. But it appears that having his 5th HC and 6th OC since 2009 Mack chose to opt out And Same with Schwartz I guess (we don't know why yet).

Gipson - haven't heard much on that.

But a building team like us you don't wish to build a lot in FA. Yes, we must have success in the draft and we still can get a FA or two that can start???

the problem bro is that we seem to always have to over turn the roster.

we end up going into the draft/season with way more holes than the previous year.

I'm scared about the idea of Irving starting at center. who knows though. but now we absolutely need a RT.

Benji....ill miss him, but we already have burners on the roster.

OK, now for plan B...

Two options that I see for Center
1) Stefen Wisniewski
2) Pick up another guard and play Greco at Center.

Still lots of options at RT if we can't sign Schwartz.

Top of my list would be Ryan Schraeder or Rissell Okung.

Not much out there for WR talent

Reuben Randall maybe?

Haven't heard of any Gipson rumors at all. Still some FS talent out there as well.

Erving was going to start on the o-line eventually rather you wanted him to or not. You don't draft a utility guy with a first rounder.

Issue w/browns isn't not spending $$ - free agency is fool's gold - it's more the tenor of talks and how they're being perceived by agents..

And pulling an offer with a player who had played out his rookie deal doesn't help with their perceptions problems. Lot of grumbling....

If the Browns turn corner and win - huge if with them - it won't really matter. But plenty of grumbling going on now from players/agents...

I agree...we got to stop this insanity and stick with these guys through Heck and High Water!

So as it is turning out I was correct about the Schwartz thing...we had the highest contract on the table and he was just using it for leverage...so we pulled our offer.

Make it 3 years from now they will be shaking their heads on not signing with us.

Again can't blame the new guys. Our history with instability is doing us in. Highest out there for Mack...sure some stuff about guarantee money but if he wanted to stay here we would have been able to make it right...he just didn't. Now Schwartz again our guys had the highest dollars out and when we knew we were getting played we pulled our contract offer. Either sign or get outta here!

Erving btw don't buy into all the WOE IS WE crap.

He is not that bad at all. He will have the entire off season to prepare as well as training camp playing one position. Center or RG not sure...we have Paztor who I think is a RT or who knows about that kid from Seattle - can't trust him...I know all went amok on me when I stated if we don't take QB and Tunsil is there we got a good chance of having him at #2...it could be the case.

We could still sign Wiznewski and possibly Erving can play RT.

We will survive just fine. Screw these guys if they don't want to be here...let them join the Jordan Cameron club.

We got to hit nothing but solid Extra base hits in round 1 n 2 and then continue to bring in solid kids!

We have to keep this regime here for 5 years to turn this instability crap around.

speaking of FA, how come Manziel isn't one already?

Snacks signed 5 years, $46.5 million. The one contract I wish we had gotten. I "offered" 5/$50 million in the mock offseason I did in the other thread.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/03/09/texans-add-brock-osweiler/
The Houston Texans have their starting quarterback. The Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos do not.

Brock Osweiler has agreed to a deal with the Texans, according to reports on ESPN, NFL Network and 9 News in Denver.

The Texans have wanted to bolster their quarterback position after last year’s primary starter, Brian Hoyer, laid an egg in their playoff loss to the Chiefs. They now think Osweiler is the man to lead them not just to the playoffs, but deep into the playoffs.

But as big a story as the Texans getting their quarterback is, the bigger story may be the Broncos’ search for a quarterback. With Peyton Manning retiring, the defending champs now have neither of their quarterbacks from last season. They’ll have to start over from scratch on offense, and hope their defense can keep them on top.
