Right now it's Denver's 2nd vs our 3rd.

I'd make the offer to the Broncos that we would bow out if the Broncos gave us a 6th.

That might just be enough for me, if they do it. If we give up the 32nd pick in the draft for Kaepernick ..... oh man ..... that might just push me all the way out the door.

I can honestly say... if our second pick is burned on trading for Kap, I'm taking a season off from Cleveland Browns football. That includes not even paying attention to them, in any fashion, which means I'll just visit here to post in the Cavs thread and the Everything Else section.

No, if that happens, I'm really, seriously, going to take the year off from the Browns. This previous season I found me drifting further away from being as engaged as I was. I stopped watching full games, stopped listening to all the pressers and etc.

The potential trade for Colin would be it. Go Browns, but if they did, "we'll need some time apart" lol.

I think most of us had a notion, coming out of last year, of 2 or 3 places where we needed to improve in order to be better next year... NOT GREAT, but better.. in the first day of FA, we lost 4 pretty decent players and signed nobody... people feel like we went backwards.

If the plan was to take a step backwards to put us in a position to move forward, I can live with that.. but that's not the feeling I got.


I don't think anybody knows how this will work out in the long run... and I'm not interested in starting over, not even close.


Me too but damn yesterday was depressing. Watching some of our good players bolt, watching other teams make a splash and sign some quality guys... while the only information coming about the Browns was:

1. Another player leaves the Browns
2. They haven't cut Manziel yet
3. Rumors are agents and other teams are frustrated with the Browns

I think you should save your rah rah post on your PC. Then in a couple of years all you'll have to do is edit the names in it rather than type the whole thing out yet again.

Kap took over 1/2 way through the year and then did lead them to the SB .. then the next year UNDER Harbs he STUNK!!!!! he just don't have it bro ...

I watched a lot of Niners games ... he had a GREAT 1/2 a season and a GREAT playoff run ... and in the 2 years since has STUNK UP THE JOINT ... and one of those years was under Harbs ...

If we go after him and its Jackson's idea ... then Jackson is making a MAJOR MISTAKE and will be a BIG OLE RED CHECK MARK in the CON column near Hue ..

That's a difference of 2 picks. Denver's second round pick is #63, our third round pick is #65.

Regardless, IMHO this is way too much to give up when we have to account for his salary as well.

This is an utter disaster if we sign Kap. Not just because he isn't very good, or because he has a big deal, but because it would just put a huge exclamation mark on the idiocy of the past two days.

When yesterday happened I am thinking OK this sucks because we have basically undertaken a complete rebuild. That sucks, but at least I think maybe they think in 4 years when we are competing for the playoffs these guys weren't part of the equation at that point. Again, I am pissed we are going complete reboot, but if we are I see the thought process.

Signing (let alone trading) for Kap flies in the face of the above or any logic. If you are bringing in a big $$$ qb you don't let your FA's go uncontested.....your going for it. You don't sign Kap as a bridge QB because of the $$ involved
and you already have that in McCown.

Even if they hate all the QBs in this draft you just roll with McCown and get one next year (they have to know a complete rebuild all but guarantees a top 3 pick).

It is a bad move if we get him for nothing. Kap isn't a long term solution at qb, has a bad contract, and won't be here when this team is ready to compete. Literally the only way this kind of move makes any sense is if you are trying to win now....and we are not. I would argue McCown is a better player right now than Kap. McCown is also much cheaper and open to mentoring whatever qb they bring in this year or the next.

Unless they think Kap can be the guy for the next 5-10 years then it's dumb......and if they think that we are screwed anyway..lol
