So tomorrow is when we get rid of the cancer that is JM? Anyone have any celebrations planned? I see no reason to celebrate us paying the price, yet again, for 2 wasted years of trying to groom a QB..

So tomorrow is when we get rid of the cancer that is JM? Anyone have any celebrations planned? I'm actually going to take a shot of Crown Royal, just for that purpose. Already got the shot glass on the table. My tiny lil "celebration and good riddance" ordeal. Tomorrow just right around the corner. Finally when we rip this kid, we won't technically be ripping a current member of the team. It's a day I've been ever so patiently (not really patient lol) on!

I am hearing we are not going to cut him, but keep him in the hopes he will get suspended and we can recoup some money.

So have we cut this turd yet? This is the Gordon thread, not the Manziel thread. (To clarify both are turds, but Gordon is one of those nice clean turds that you have after you eat a nice healthy meal. Manziel is one of those Chipotle turds that hurt for days after the meal.)

Let the record show that I am far more better looking and much more hydrated than cfrs15 could ever be.
Also, that I do not view Josh Gordon as a turd, but could be convinced he's clear colored pee in a urinal, not exactly pleasant, but not exactly flushable.

Doesn't alcohol get out of pee in a relatively short time? Ugh. Look, I'm the biggest Gordon fan on the forums. I honestly usually can't support him as much as I want to, because I don't want to come across crazy to most people. But this situation is slimy. I'm talking best case scenario it looks like this:
JG: "Hey Manziel, how you been?" JM: "Been better. Want to have a couple of beers?" JG: "Umm you sure." JM: "Sweet. No weed though, right." JG: "Hahahaha. Just try not to deafen a chick at the club later."
That's the best possible situation I, as the biggest Josh Gordon supporter outside his personal family and twitter, can imagine. Take that as you will.

Next season is going to be awful. Might as well ride it out with Gordon. See what he does with an offseason of being needed to be trusted. If he screws up he'll be out of the league soon.

I will welcome him back with open arms. He has had to stay clean for what now, 1 year 2 months. Pretty sure he has been tested A LOT since his last alcohol positive test, and he has been clean. I know that time period is a small sample size but shows me he can do it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but under the new drug and alcohol policy if he passes every test for 2 years he is considered back to zero, right?

Browns not counting on Josh Gordon in 2016; NFL can rule on reinstatement 'when appropriate'http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2016/03/browns_josh_gordon_2016.html#incart_2boxBy Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com on March 21, 2016 at 12:18 PM, updated March 21, 2016 at 1:27 PM BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The NFL is now clarifying that it can rule on Josh Gordon's reinstatement "when appropriate,'' and the Browns aren't counting on him for 2016. First, he has to be reinstated, which is no sure thing. Then, they have to see where his head is at. They know where his body has been -- in the same vicinity as Johnny Manziel's a lot lately, but they're claiming that's not an issue at this point. And now, the NFL is making it clear that the 60-day timeframe to rule on Gordon's reinstatement from his indefinite drug ban is a guideline and not written in stone. He applied for reinstatement around 60 days ago, and the policy states that "all individuals involved in the process will take steps to enable the commissioner to render a decision within 60 days of the receipt of the application.'' But an NFL spokesman, answering in general terms, said, "there is no requirement that a reinstatement decision be made in 60 days. We endeavor to develop the necessary information to make a decision in that timeframe, but the actual decisions are made when appropriate.'' One thing is clear: The Browns don't even like talking about Gordon. During a breakfast meeting here at the NFL Annual Meeting with Executive Vice President Sashi Brown, Chief Strategy Officer Paul DePodesta, coach Hue Jackson and four members of the Browns media covering the meetings, Brown grew weary of answering Gordon questions. "I would just say probably enough Josh chatter,'' Brown said. "I know he's intriguing but really for us, we're focused on the guys that are on our roster and if Josh comes back, great, and if he doesn't, we're ready.'' Coach Hue Jackson admitted that he's proceeding as though he won't have Gordon, who could be reinstated any day now -- or not. "I always learned something a long time ago -- you never worry about something you never had,'' Jackson said. "I've never had any contact with him, so I'm going to plan on what's in our building now and go from there.'' Asked how they'd know they could trust Gordon after he's been suspended 27 of his last 32 games, Brown said: "I don't think it will be about words with Josh. It will be about action.'' The Browns haven't been given any indication when they'll hear something, but Brown said "you would think it would be fairly soon, but the process is not something that we have a lot of insight into. ...So we're holding tight and if something positive comes out great; if not we'll prepare for that too.'' Brown seems to have backed off some from his stance at the NFL Combine last month, when he was optimistic Gordon would be reinstated and welcomed back into the fold. "Everything that we knew at that point, things were moving forward,'' he said. "We don't have a lot of communication back and forth. There's no, 'This is how it's going,' or regular updates. We don't have a lot of information on it.'' Brown was asked about Gordon's sometimes cryptic Twitter account, which contains mixed messages about whether or not he wants to be back here. "I'm not going to comment on Josh's Twitter,'' Brown said. "But Ron Brewer (player engagement manager) has been in touch with Josh. He's working out in L.A.. Beyond that, I'm not going to comment.'' Kidded Jackson, "I've got to get on Twitter more. I'm learning things.'' If Gordon is reinstated, he'll resume his grievance against the Browns for suspending him for the final game of 2014, which cost him an accrued season and postponed his unrestricted free agency by a year. That could translate into millions of dollars, and it could be a prolonged battle with the Browns. "Josh is under contract with us for another couple years,'' Brown said. "Any time we've got a player that's been suspended for that amount of time and had some of the challenges Josh has had thus far in his career, you need to sit down with him and understand where his head is before you bring him back into your locker room. From everything I've heard, Josh is eager to get back and start playing.'' Brown added that his remarks shouldn't be interpreted one way or the other. "We had some discussions with his representatives at the combine, so we would sit down with him and see where his head is and go from there,'' he said. "The first step, though, obviously is he's got to be reinstated.'' Brown said it's premature to discuss Gordon's friendship with Manziel because Gordon's not back on the team yet. The two were together recently in Las Vegas and again in Santa Monica, Calif., as chronicled on Twitter and Instagram. Jackson also declined to comment. "I don't follow it and I'm not going to comment on Johnny,'' he said. "Johnny's not part of our organization.'' Question is, will Gordon be?

jeez, so basically the "rules" in the nfl are so vague that they pretty much can rule on stuff whenever, and however they want?
no wonder why they have such a massive image problem.

From the article and an example of why I don't like Mary Kay... "They know where his body has been -- in the same vicinity as Johnny Manziel's a lot lately, but they're claiming that's not an issue at this point." The underlined words are a link within the article to an article on the picture of Josh and Johnny the ONE TIME they are known to have met up. That article is also written by her and nowhere in it does it mention the two of them hanging out any more often than the ONE time for a pic. But she says, "a lot lately", in this newest article. Why? Even she only knows only the ONE time. If she knew of more times she would damn sure jump on that with facts. I hate the way she makes false statements to back her point. Gordon's body has been here a lot more often than he's been around Johnny

Lost in the typical bashing of MKC was this: Brown was asked about Gordon's sometimes cryptic Twitter account, which contains mixed messages about whether or not he wants to be back here.
"I'm not going to comment on Josh's Twitter,'' Brown said. "But Ron Brewer (player engagement manager) has been in touch with Josh. He's working out in L.A.. Beyond that, I'm not going to comment.'' What's that about? Have any of you Twitter geeks followed his account? Also: Reading all the comments from Sashi, Hue, and even the NFL........I am beginning to wonder if Josh will ever play for the Browns again????

I heard of it before but haven't seen the tweets. I don't have an account and don't know how to access specific people. Maybe one of the youngsters here will do it. I follow Josh Gordon on Twitter. When he does post, it's usually about beautiful mornings, him working out, or going back to work out. Seriously...that's all he talks about. And religious stuff every now and again. I'm sure there are some other things peppered in there but, by in large, that's what I remember seeing. There was one picture of him and Manziel taking a picture together when they were at an arena for a boxing/MMA fight or something. Then there is some stuff floating around about removing tweets that talk about/to/supporting Manziel, I think. That's where the big hoopla is coming from. But I could be wrong. Anyone else got more info on that?

I wonder what the NFL Players Union thinks about this? While we use the word "suspension" a lot regarding Gordon, it is my understanding that he has been banned from the NFL. He is able to apply for reinstatement, but that is no guarantee. I am unsure if the NFL even has to take up his request within any specific time frame. This is not a guy who has a 4 game suspension. This is a guy who had a year long suspension shortened to a 10 game suspension ..... and then blew that and was, essentially, banished from the NFL. If he is able to come back, we would be foolish to ever count on him. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. What would "fool me 4 times" be?

As long as he keeps his act together, I think that we'll see him in a Browns uniform this season.
They've all been burned by him multiple times now. I'm betting that he's being tested to see how he handles the adversity. Does he implode again, or does he have the things about him and in his life now to deal with it?
Browns is the Browns

IMO he will be back. I'm not sure how much he'll help our offense (when he returned after 10 games in 2014 our offense was WORSE somehow).
But he could be a big member of the team for our rookie QB
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I don't have an opinion on if he'll be back or not but I do hope he comes back and keeps himself straight. ... he returned after 10 games in 2014 our offense was WORSE somehow). He was away from the team for the first 10 games. And then, in his first week back he was immediately thrown into to the mix featured as the #1 WR in an offense he'd never practiced until that week.
