Kyrie and Love suck

Kyrie's body language is terrible. Love gave way too much space to Horford on the P&R and he walked down the court disinterested, hunched over watching. No thought or interest in moving whatsoever.

And he misses it.

He threw up a couple of those at crucial times in this game. I wouldn't let him shoot another 3 the rest of the season.

That's just depressing as hell. They should have gone under the screen, but there is ZERO defense for that.

Got to see most of the second half.

Strong play by LeBron, TT, and Shump down the stretch. Good foul shooting by Kyrie in the clutch. Poor perimeter defense.

It was a good win, but I get the feeling [while watching the Cavs at times] that they would be a better team w/out Kyrie on the floor.

curry finished the half with 6 points.

that allowed boston in the second half to go ahead and get into a shootout COMFORTABLY with GS. they stayed in Curry's face the moment the ball was inbounded.

the way the celtics were playing defense....we need Kyrie to play to that level.

If we're going to have a chance against Golden State our bigs can't get be dominated by Barnes and Green. Last night Barnes was huge for them down the stretch.

No, I didnt see it. Thats why I was asking what you saw. I have advocated playing GS, especially Curry very physically. I would run a zone combo. Maybe a box and 1 or a triangle 2, I am not sure our guys play with the effort on the defensive end to pull these defenses off though.

There's a video on the ESPN site of Daugherty talking about the Celtics defending Curry, and also of how the Warriors might be getting burnt out. I couldn't link it for some reason.

It was more than just a feeling last night. The Cavs were -15 with Kyrie on the floor. Just about everyone else was in the positive. Only Mozgov and Shumpert were in the minus as well.

That's pretty much a microcosm of the season too. Mosgov, Irving and Shumpert all seem to have regressed terribly. Moz looks completely lost at times and can't seem to catch a cold. Any time Shump puts the ball on the court it turns into "Adventures in Dribbling". The poor guy can't convert a layup to save his life. And Kyrie has just turned into a black hole of dribbling. It seems most of his assists come on bail-out passes, not from any sort of designed offensive play.

Love has been hot and cold, but at least he seems to have found "some" chemistry with the starters. Although, at this point, Channing Frye isn't much of a downgrade when he's in. Our best lineup currently is probably: Delly, JR (when he's not cold), Bron, Love/Frye and TT. You can plug Shump in there too, so long as he promises never to put the ball on the court. Love or Frye is a pick-em, depending on whoever his hot or cold at the time. Lately, Frye has been pretty hot from deep.

Game 1 and 2 in GS I would play Curry as tight as possible, double teams, make everyone else beat you..

Game 3.. in Cleveland.. Physically destroy them, to the point that they complain about not getting calls afterwards..

The tighter you play early, if the refs let it go, the tighter you can play at home..

Short of going all Kelly Olynk on someone, I would physically punish them..

Shump can be pesky and annoy you.

LeBron can physically dominate almost anyone.

Part of it is "want" you have to want to play defense. Want to be physical.

However JR should probably not be involved, if he looks at the guy with the ball the refs call a foul on him.

JR and Della get zero benefit of the doubt from officials.

Toronto plays at San Antonio. So that will give us a 3 game lead with 6 games left.

Mozgov too. He gets called for some of the softest touch fouls.

Lebron "should" be able to physically dominate anybody, but he doesn't want to. That's part of the reason he left Miami. he didn't like playing PF and banging inside with the big guys. He plays tough defense, but I don't see him really banging up other guys. He wants to save his body for offensive heroics.

Mozgov is pretty Charmin soft for his size. It doesn't help that the refs call him for everything. So he doesn't really impose his will on anyone.

Shump has quick hands, and is probably the best bet to play "physical", but he's so injury prone, I think he's a bit afraid to do it. He was playing tight D in last years finals and ended up messing up his shoulder again.

JR could play tough, but the second he would come anywhere close, he'll get a Flagrant 2 and ejected.

Frye, we don't know about. He took a hard foul a few games ago and got right in the face of the guy that did it. Maybe he's got it in him? Will that equate to physical defense? For a PF, he's still pretty thin. Can you see him banging down low against Draymond Green?

Irving, not a chance. Love, not really. Anyone on the bench? Not that I'm seeing.

Off topic, but Steph Currys brother Seth can shoot the 3 pretty good too. He's been impressive at times for Sacramento. If he was 6'5 he'd be a decent starter, but his height limits him. He shoots more like his dad than he does Steph.
