Wow - one of the best games and unbelievable endings I've seen

Can't believe the Carolina guy made that three and then the buzzer beater was unreal!!

That shot by Marcus Paige will go down in history, along with that great catch by the Seahawks WR in the Super Bowl as a couple of the greatest plays in history that didn't matter.

I feel like UNCs bigs kind of choked down the stretch. They missed easy shots.

Feel kinda awful listening to Roy Williams right now. Dude is gonna break down.

Also if you like basketball, watch this:

what. a. game.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I don't feel bad for Williams and UNC at all.

Amid all the Academic Fraud Accusations and nothing happening to them this year (a year when they're geared up for a National Title), I kind of feel like UNC got what they deserved

UConn was suspended for a low APR rating, the NCAA suspended us for a postseason. Nothing has happened to UNC yet

I've already forgotten both. smirk

Did anyone else find the explosions, streamers, and confetti kind of cheesy immediately following the shot going in? I was a little distracted. What I mean, that was one of the greatest shots in college basketball history, it doesn't need all that fluff to make it a special moment, the shot+the reaction was the moment. Also, what if the shot was a tad late and had to be called off, do you just sweep it all up and act like nothing happened?

As for UNC and Roy Williams, meh. They won it all a few years back and are one of the most popular and successful college basketball programs. In fact, during the game I was thinking it wouldn't be good to have UNC win it. Think about it, Duke, Kentucky, UCONN, and UNC win it almost every freaking year. Had UNC have won last night, it would have been 9 out of the last 13 years and 13 out of the last 21 years that one of those four teams won the title. The NBA gets crushed for having essentially the same teams win the title every year. College basketball is very close to a monopoly too.

I'm glad Nova won. It's even better how they won it too.

What makes the NCAA Tournament so much fun is the first 2 rounds.. that's when the upsets happen, that's when the real fun is... after that it usually settles in with most of the usual suspects playing for a championship. Like this year, Michigan State got bumped but, oh well.. If this tournament was 16 teams (or even 32) it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

UConn is a 25pt favorite over Syracuse in the women's NC game. That's insane.

ESPN is trying as hard as possible to get people to watch this too.

I'd still take UConn... the difference between them and the rest of the field is staggering. They have an average margin of victory in the tournament of 41.6 points with the closest game being 21...

I did like what their coach had to say after they won their sweet 16 game by 60.... when asked if he thought that was good for the sport or interesting to watch..

Oh yeah, the whole event is good for college basketball and the sporting landscape in the country, but the winner isn't usually good for all. Everyone talks about Cinderella's and the way the country embraces them, but they don't win, rarely ever.

I'd argue the opening 4-day weekend of the NCAA tournament is the greatest sports weekend of the year (runners up: Masters weekend, NFL opening weekend, NFL wildcard weekend as is, the previous NFL draft schedule, etc.).

I think the NFL is going to challenge the NCAA opening weekend when they expand the playoffs to have 6 wildcard games. They could have a Friday night, two Saturday games, two Sunday games, and then one on Monday night. Talk about an insane "wildcard weekend" for watching playoff football. I'm in!

Were any 1vs16 match-ups in the mens bracket that bad?

I don't tune into any 1vs16 game unless it's close.

The difference in talent between men in the same league is never really that massive. For women there is a GIGANTIC notable difference.

Yeah the women's game is basically the haves vs the have nots ... and there is a HUGE gap between. There is almost zero chance of an upset in women's

The average margin of victory in the 16/1 and 15/2 games in the mens bracket was 21.25 points. That includes the 9 point LOSS by Michigan State. Of the 7 teams that won, the average margin of victory was 25.57 points.

Based on my track record with the teams I cheer for, I've decided to make UConn women's basketball my favorite team. One of two things will happen:

1. I will either finally get to root for a dominant championship team...

or...

2. The DC curse will kick in and UConn will come back to the pack and never win another championship but women's college basketball will be more fun to watch.

It's a win/win for me.

I think Syracuse is my faivorite to win it all next year. They're going to be HUGE:

PG- Tyus Battle 6'5
SG- Malachi Richardson 6'6
SF- Tyler Lydon 6'9
PF- Tyler Roberson 6'8
C- Paschal Chukwu 7'2
