What do you NOT want us to do?
What would in your opinion, be one of the worst (realistic) names we could call at #2?

Worst (realistic) case scenario:
2) Carson Wentz, QB NDSU 32) Le'Raven Clark, OT Texas Tech 65) Kentrell Borthers, ILB Missouri 99) Rashard Higgins, WR Colorado State 138) T.J. Green, FS Clemson 141) Joe Schobert, OLB Wisconsin 172) Deiondre Hall, CB Northern Iowa 173) Kelvin Taylor, RB Florida 176) Ben Braunecker, TE Harvard 224) Lloyd Carrington, CB Arizona State

Trading our first rd draft pick has never worked....ever.
Even worse...A team moves up to #1 and takes Goff or Wentz...Then we pass on the QB they didn't take by trading down to take lessor talent later.

I do not want us to take a QB with the 2nd overall pick.
Wentz, Goff or Lynch are all fine young men who've had good College careers. Nothing against any of them really, but honestly, I don't know if any of them are worthy of that high a pick.
Hey, when it comes right down to it, it's up to the Browns brain trust to decide but if I were in charge, I'd probably take the BPA at 2 or trade down for a boat load (if you can get them) of picks. We need so much.

What do you NOT want us to do?
Take a WR at #2 and #32 in this draft of one of the weakest WR classes in several years.
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

I would hate if we took a WR or Laremy Tunsil @ #2, Bosa, Elliott, Ramsey, Jack, Goff or Wentz I could handle although I hope we trade down and stockpile more picks, any of these scenarios would be better than Tunsil or a WR ... JMHO

Taking a WR at 2, then taking the 4th best QB at 32. Hey we might be lucky to get the 4th best QB at 32.. I'm not sure who that is btw.. Rankings shmankings.. I see there's a legitimate chance this year that the most successful QB could be someone picked late who has time to sit and learn, or gets picked by a better team, etc..

Who ever we take as QB better be ready to start day one because McCussion and RGIII may not be an option.

Trade back into the 1st rnd for a QB. Either get the guy you want at #2 if your sold on the guy or else wait until the mid to late rnds to get a guy you think you can develop.
What would in your opinion, be one of the worst (realistic) names we could call at #2?
Myles Jack, to me he is strictly a 4-3 OLB.
"With the 2nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, The Cleveland Browns select.."
I'm gonna say that we take Wentz but I would also be happy with Ramsey or Bosa and I could live with Tunsil or Buckner.

What we lack and have always lacked are impact players. I'm not opposed to trading down, but we can't trade down too far.
Drafting a bunch of mediocre players just to plug a lot of holes won't help build this team.
That's my biggest fear in this draft. I'm simply afraid that the money ball crowd may think that filling holes means acquiring talent. It's not the same thing.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

My worst case scenario is that we take another kid who doesn't absolutely love football. (like Manziel and Gilbert, thus far)

The 49ers trade up for Goff at 1 after finally getting the Kaep to Denver deal done, the Browns try to trade out of number 2 but the clock expires and the Chargers take Wentz. No one is willing to trade up once the QBs are gone. We then settle on a player with red flags and they bite us.
If we take a QB in the first two rounds, I think it has to be Wentz. If we don't, I wouldn't draft any one in this class before the 5th with the possible exception of Jones in the 3rd. It would depend on the classroom and work ethic findings.
I've wanted Wentz for awhile, but I think if we want RG3 to succeed, he will need most of the reps. If Hue thinks RG3's chance of making it is equal or greater than Wentz', we should go in a different direction. If there is a good offer for #2, I'd consider the trade down (but I'd make sure to get it finalized in plenty of time). If not, I'd go Ramsey assuming the Titans didn't.
I think the best receivers will go mid first to mid second and an extra pick in there could allow us to fill that void while getting max value with our draft capital. Depending where we dropped to, there are some players projected in the first round I like. If we didn't drop too far, maybe Jack. More towards the mid-1st, maybe Robinson or Treadwell.

I really, really don't want us to draft OT Tunsil ... that seems so BLAH to me ... even if he'll be a premier OL, it hasn't proven to give us any success since 99 The only O-Linemen we took that early since 99 that I can think of was Faine and Mack (Mid-First) and Joe Thomas at 3. While I wouldn't say any have taken us to the promise land, they are hardly our worst picks decision wise........ Jeff Faine had a 10 year career. And he started for the Saints and Bucs. We haven't had many successful 1st round picks since 99, period ya know........... lol. What position that we've drafted has shown to be helpful since 99? By that logic, would you prefer a D-Linemen? Well Courtney Brown, Gerard Warren have really helped. So has Phil Taylor. How about RB. William Green and Trent Richardson were great....... Maybe an OLB, Kamerion Wimbley and Barkevious Mingo have really made a difference. As far as I'm concerned, the only guys who've been good that we've really drafted would be Joe Haden and Joe Thomas. I'm trying to find a high ranked guy name Joe at any position and I'm having trouble unfortunately. But yeah, gotta say, by that logic, I don't see it. My top choice, if we don't choose a QB, would be Tunsil though. Start him at RT and he can replace Joe Thomas when the time comes (who is 31 years old and has played for 9 years, never missing a game................) Football is a team game. One position is worth more than any other of course, that's QB. But after that, a tackle is pretty high up there

If we take Aaron Donald and Derek Carr instead of Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel and then took someone other than Cam Erving, then people would be lauding the most recent trade down. (Although I feel like Jim O'Neil would have used Aaron Donald completely wrong.) The trades have been great, the picks have been among the worst ever.

Just ask the Denver Broncos. Sure, if you have Von Miller, Demarcus Ware (at the top of his game), or JJ Watt. But beyond that, I dunno...... Julius Peppers? I mean, these are Hall of Fame guys And heck, we should have beaten the Broncos this year. I forgot why we didn't, but I know that game was a mega disappointment for me

For the trade down advocates, I propose the following: Assuming that we had the same picks ..... we could have drafted Julio Jones, (who I hoped we would pick) and Sammy Watkins. (who I was less interested in drafting as our #1) Maybe we would not be concerned about scrambling for receivers right now.

I don't always agree with cfrs, but on this I do. The problem hasn't been the trades, the problem has been the choices made with the acquired picks. If trading down from #2 to somewhere in the 4-8 range gains 2-3 more picks in the top 100 players available in the draft, and good picks are made, then the team will be better for it. There are very good players to be had in the 4-8 range, and 5 of the top 100 would help the rebuild...if they are good picks.

Nine times out of ten you end up with lessor talent when you trade down. That's the main reason trading down has failed this franchise. The elite talent wasn't there and we settled with the next best thing. Hence bad trades and bad picks.

We are arguing hindsight obviously.
But Sammy Watkins vs. Aaron Donald & Derek Carr seems like a no brainer to me.
Julio Jones vs. Muhammed Wilkerson, Randall Cobb, & Julius Thomas is an interesting discussion..

When we traded down from #4 to #9 in '14, Beckham, Donald, Shazier, and Mosley were still on the board at #9. We chose instead to trade up to #8 and picked Gilbert. It's not that there wasn't talent to be picked, it's that we picked poorly.

I have 3 WCS's.
1) We give Wentz to Philly for squat. They don't even have a 2 this year.
2) We take Ramsey at 2. This guy is nowhere near Deion Sanders who he was compared to recently. I'm with Louis Riddick. Overrated. And he's a damn FS.
3) Bosa at 2. I see problem child all over this guy. And he's nowhere near a JJ Watt.
So what to do?
Take Wentz at 2 and if we want more picks start moving down from 32. We'll have all night to discuss trades.

My worst case, or anybody's I would think, would be to trade down to a 12-15 pick, with a certain player as a target and to have someone jump you and take your guy, leaving you with a "what do we do now?" situation. I could see something like that happening with guys like Lynch or Treadwell. Even if you have a Plan B it would still be deflating as hell.

But I wouldn't agree with it ... a lot of risk

We can all have our favorite picks. Then there are guys that each of do not like.
What matters is that the Browns get it right. The history since 1999 and before is getting it wrong. Savage was supposed to be the draft guru. We all know the the draft score.
I may like Wentz; they may like Goff or Lynch. I could be wrong. I just hope they are right.
Maybe Bosa turns out to be the stud.
All I know is if the Browns don't it right in the draft the team will continue to lose.
To me it is inexcusable to miss in the first round. The Browns need to hit all through the draft.
They have many needs. They need to score in all rounds.
We know that teams miss. The Browns can not afford to miss much.
