This is my breakdown of the Browns roster. We have gone through phase one of free agency, and have the draft coming up. This is now I see it right now.

QB: RG3, McCown, Davis, Shaw; I think that we have 2 capable QBs in RG3 and McCown. I question whether or not we have a playoff level QB. There is reason for hope, yet also reason for concern.

RB: Crowell, Duke, Mosert, Winston, Watson; Duke is an exceptional receiver out of the backfield. The rest are questionable, at best. A lot of people like Crowell, but he has been up and down, looking dominant at times, and uninterested at others.

FB: M. Johnson; Umm … he’s a FB. I think. I mean, he's listed there ..... but is he capable of doing that job?

TE: Barnidge, Bibbs, Telfar, Hamlett; Barnidge is a quality TE, and is also 30. The rest are untested, at best.

OL: Joe, Bitonio, Greco, Erving, Bowie, K. Johnson, Gerhart, Pasztur, Bofelli, Bailey, France; What was a position of strength has become questionable in just a few days. Will Joe, or Greco, be here when the season starts?

WR: Gabriel, Hartline, Hawkins, Pryor, Moore, Jennings, Hall; Who’s the #1 Will Hawkins be here when the season starts? Is anyone surprised that he, not Hartline, is our oldest WR? Do we have 2 starters out of this group?

DL: Shelton, D. Bryant, Meder, Hughes, Campbell, Meder, Wynn, Cam Johnson; We have a couple of quality pieces here. However, will we pay an injury prone and medically challenged Desmond Bryant $8 million this season? Do we have starters, or mainly just quality depth? I think that Bryant, and Hughes are quality starters, and Shelton might be. The rest? Depth, at best.

LB: Orchard, Davis, Kirksey, Carder, Kruger, Mingo, Solomon, Tuggle, A Bryant (Voted most likely to be suspended); There is some talent here, with Orchard, Kirksey, and Kruger, but I question whether we have much in the way of impact here. Davis was essentially benched in many situations by the Jets last year, and his lack of speed was exposed. He is expected to start here. Ugh. Kruger was not an impact pass rusher last year. Was that scheme, or was it decline?

DB: Haden, Moore, Campbell, Gaines, Baker, Desir, Gilbert, D. Jones, Poyer, Scott, K Williams, T Williams; Haden is recovering from injury, and Williams is not getting any younger. I think that Campbell has a bright future, but we have a lot of depth type players here. K. Williams had at least 2 concussions last year. I am not really enthusiastic about this group as far as starters.

K: Koons; He had a decent rookie season, but needs to work on getting more height on his place kicks. He was not helped by his OL being blown up on occasion.

P: Lee; Top flight punted, but will he beat the analytics as far as age?

LS: Hughlett; We have a great Long Snapper! Yea us!

Honestly, we do have some average level NFL talent at some positions, but man, we are lagging behind at most. We have some young players who may come, but they are really untested. It is bizarre that we have to guys who could be capable starters at QB, and will probably add a rookie. (which I agree with)

All said, though, I look at this roster, and see a 1-15 or 2-14 team. I just don’t see talent that will be able to address our biggest problems last year ….. being able to run the ball when we want and need to ….. and defense. We have some decent pieces, but little in the way of impact players. With 10 draft picks, we need a monster draft, and we need to hit on a large number of those picks .... something that has not been a real strength of the team over the past 6 or so regimes and 16 years.

What say you?

Depending on the O we run ... I mean lets face it Y-Town .. McCown and RG3 and not going to run even remotely close to the same O ...

does RG3 have any guaranteed money or can we cut him??? .. no idea why he'd sign this contract but if he stays then McCown needs to go .. whats his purpose going to be? ...

Him and RG3 have skill sets that couldn't be further apart unless they played different positions ... *L* ..

I think McCown is capable .. depending on the O .. he needs to be put into a very specific O for him to be average ... that's his uphe has a side ... PITIFUL that's our upside is average ...

RG3 is a very bad QB IMO .. if we put him in the right system theres some upside if he proves me wrong ... but again ... its a certain system and is not remotely close to the O McCown can run ..

I don't expect to see both these guys on the final roster ... MAKES NO SENSE ...

IMO we don't have a viable option at QB on our roster right now ...

the rest of the O is to depressing to reply to ... we have a few positions that may be the WORSED IN THE LEAGUE ...

to be honest ... we don't have a viable option at a lot of positions ...

Good God Y-Town ... the D is not much better .. I didn't know just how bad it really was ... thanks for depressing the hell out of me .. *L* ...

I agree .. 1 - 15 or 2 - 14 ...

maybe our plan is to take a position player at #2 cause we know we'll be at 1 or 2 next year ... this is BRUTAL ... we have DIDDLY as far as TALENT goes ..

superconfused .. WE STINK!!!!

If telfer can come back from injury, we may have something there. Over all it looks like Buckner and then trade back up in the first for Elliott and then go CB/LB for the next couple of rounds. Looks like were short more on the DL and DB than anything else.

Well Tennessee drafted a very good QB last year and they are still picking first this year, so......

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

My big worry positions
RT dont have one, Paz sucks at tackle, Bailey sucks at tackle, right now I would probably swing Erving into the position and just let Grecco play center Bailey at RG.

I like RG3 in this offense. Dont know why so many are against it. The kid is a great deep ball passer and this is a vertical offense.

Duke in this system right now is our only real weapon. Horrible draft for O which sucks for us. Treadwell would do wonders for us.

TE Barndige and Bibbs could be a really good combo. Pet didnt want to play bibbs but I think we could see a lot of 2 TE sets just to get these guys on the field.

Secondary is scary. sighs

Just a hunch. I think we need about 3 corners. Don't see it happening for last season's starters any better this year, and don't see a full season out of them if they are startable.
This is a reach area because everybody wants them, but I don't think you are seeing the dire need I suspect will develop. Hope that I am wrong.

I don't see McCown here after the draft, to be honest with you. However, he is here now, so I put him on the list.

I fully expect McCown to be traded on Draft Day, probably for a 6th or 7th pick. (or a swap of McCown and a 6th for a 5th, or similar deal)

I do have some hope for RG3. I think that Hue can design an offense that will take advantage of what he does best, and he should be 100% healthy after sitting out all of last year.

Maybe cause of cash. I just don't see Conor Shaw or Austin Davis as decent backups. McCown is so much better than them

jesus we suck. there are glaring holes at: WR, RT, CB, FS, ILB, OLB, DE

not to mention QB

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Who said anything about QB? Denver has Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, T.J. Ward, Aqib Talib, Derek Wolfe, and Chris Harris.

We have Joe Thomas.

They have no one to get the snap balls on the ground every play? No one to give the ball to the RB...no need for RB.

No one to pass the ball the the WR's? no need for them.

No QB no offense.

If he gets 3 wins out of this mess, he deserves coach of the year.

As it is, he'll probably be fired. crazy

The team will go as far as Griffin (assuming he starts*) takes it..

If he is average to above average, and we add a solid WR in the draft, we can win some games.

If he sucks. We will suck.

If you add 3-4 impact players to the roster, it covers up the occasional glaring hole.. It helps if one of those impactful players is the QB as well..

* - I assume RG3 will start, because there was no reason to sign him if he doesn't, however the pipedream of a Wilson/Flynn Rookie/FA is always in the back of my head..

The team, right now, is one that I'm guessing after we see how piss poor after the opener it is will result in me questioning if I'd rather be doing something else on Sundays.

This might be the least talented team I have ever seen in the NFL. I am not kidding when I say this team is less talented than the 0-16 Lions.

I think the 1976 Buc's were a lot worst than the 0-16 Lions.

Who are Bennett and Edwards? They don't show up on the roster right now.

Or are they guys you want us to draft? (I am not up on this draft much at all)

He's 32 years old.

While there is rarely a 0% chance of anything happening in the NFL, I would put the odds of us signing him at somewhere around .00001%.
