What is it with SVG teams and their unconscious 3pt shooting in the playoffs?

Also, why is Jeff Van Gundy covering this game? We have to listen to him whine about calls like he doesn't have an obvious bias.

To be honest, yes a one seed should blow out an 8th seed, esp in the east

I'm not too worried but it does seem like Stan Van Gundy just has our number.

we will be fine, especially throughout the series.

Detroit most likely isn't gonna keep this level of shooting up.

right now they have no answer for love in the paint, and lebron and kyrie are having excellent games as far as offense.

we need to get more effort on D, but you can't do much when even contested shots are falling for the pistons.

just keep making sure they are contested, and their FG percentage will eventually drop.

one thing i'm wondering why we haven't seen Frye yet. i would've put him in over RJ, at least initially

SVG must have a horseshoe up his ass. Just like his Orlando team, his guys just can't miss from three-point range. Half of the shots even had decent defense. Drummond will probably shoot 80% from the free throw line too.

well so far playoff cavs look alot like regular season cavs under Lue and thats not a good thing. First our bench just sucks, you can't have the whole team outside of big 3 having 9 points in 24 minutes. RJ over Frye is criminal and makes no sense, RJ hasn't done anything in about 60 games. Frye can defend the 4 better than what we have. Looks like playoff JR has showed up as well. Took all of 6 minutes into the game before we were back to ISO ball. Hopefully detroit cools off but with the looks we are giving them i don't see why they would. Ball needs to move and we need more people to start playing like they want it. So far, i'm not seeing any effort outside of the big 3, but they are eventually going to go cold, like love did towards the end and we need someone else to pick it up. You can't lose home court against the 8 seed and say your goal is a championship. GS left no doubts who the 1 seed was in the west, they destroyed houston. We need to set the same tone against a raw detroit team. Confidence is the worst thing you can give a team.

so JR and TT need to show up. straight up.

we'll win this game by 8-12 points, but Detroit has looked good. they have some good young players

give jr a open look 3, he can't hit.

Delly's jumper is broken. He's just pushing it like he's throwing a shotput and it looks really flat. He needs to channel what he did earler this season.

I said during season our bench would prevent us from winning anything. It's even worse when you trade for a guy to bolster bench and don't even play him. Lue getting outcoached horribly by SVG. Playoffs is where coaching can have an impact. TT is not a 5 no matter how much people want him to be. Mosgov falling off the earth has really set us back

Love was huge this game down the stretch. He did the best of anyone on Drummond and really hit some big shots

i think as a team we need this series to be hard as hell.

i'm glad we won, and i'm also glad this game was rough.

it showed our big 3 will show up in these games. irving with 31, love with 28 and lebron with 22.

we need to work on D, but with offensive production like that, it's gonna be hard for teams to stop us.

but man, we need TT and Smith to show up, especially TT. i know it's a tall task with guarding Drummond, but TT needs to figure it out, cause if we have to see Miami in the ECF, whiteside is gonna put straight work on him.

K-Love was awesome today. Lebron was a beast too, but we sort of expect it from him at this point. Kyrie got buckets too. Just need guys on the bench to step up a bit.

Yes, Detroit played an impressive game. Great game to watch. I wish our Brownies were as good as our Cavs.

One thing I've noticed with Love is that while he may not be a good defender it's not for a lack of trying. He tries but just doesn't have that lateral quickness. Irving barely tries on D.

Great win today. I think if they try and follow a similar script...let Love carry the offense early and save James and Irving for late they could have an easy march through the east.

isn't that kinda the point of playoffs? highs and lows...Loved what I saw the whole game from the big 3, everyone else, they just showed how replaceable they are. it's a good thing when you win and lebron is outscored by two players. We just need to figure out the defense...its all about intensity, it took them 3 quarters to find it, and when they did, detroit crumbled

It's mostly the Pick and Roll that teams have to worry about. Same goes with DeAndre Jordan.

And no, the Cavs don't really have anyone to stop it.

The fact that the Cavs still won despite that has to be pretty demoralizing.

Stan Van is an absolute beauty. Really love how he's able to get guys up to play at a high level. Not always easy in the NBA. He got the most out of a lot of guys today.

Yeah, I get the feeling that this might of been Detroit's best shot at us. Their shooting was ridiculous, everything was falling for them, and we still pulled away at the end.

I can't count how many times I'd see us get a wide-open three look, clank it, Detroit would get the rebound and hit a 3 with a hand in their face on the other side. Just like in the 4th quarter, I can't see them keeping that up for 4 games straight. Sort of like how I can't see most of our 3-ball guys go as cold as they did tonight.
