Thank you for the welcome, and we agree on this somewhat but
IF decent QB play is all they want then were several QBs available to provide that level of QB play. And there is the question Fisher's staff ability to develop a QB. It wasn't long ago that they drafted their "franchise" QB in Sam Braford. (who imho is a much more accurate comp to Goff then the Matt Ryan comp the media pushes)
I think its more then that, it's seems clear to me it's about buying time, buying a grace period...pushing the reset button on their hot seat.

Not disagreeing with you in general but fisher did not draft Bradford - he was there two years before fisher. Bradford had his best year under fisher in 2012 and started well in 2013 Until he tore his acl and hasn't been the same since I agree with your points though that I think them trading up is a combination of them thinking they are a QB away from being a contender, fisher needs to make a splash, and Goff makes sense to get butts in the seats in LA

I think Fisher is trying to make this team in the image of his 1999 Titans team that went to the Superbowl. Gurley is his Eddie George, and I think he thinks Wentz can be his Steve McNair. It's kind of morbid, but the way Fisher talked about McNair after his death and the qualities that made him a great QB sound a lot like Wentz to me. Teams usually only carry two QBs into the season, and, with Pryor at WR, we'll probably do likewise. You do realize we go 3 deep into our QB depth every season. Only having 2 NFL ready QB's is dumb for the Brown's! We need 3 QB's that can actually play the position at a NFL level and we absolutely need Pryor to concentrate on being just a WR. When have we EVER had 3 NFL-ready QB's? Most years we haven't even had One... at best we've had two. Usually, we have a bunch of guys that should be on the bench.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Well, here recently, they ALL make it to the bench at some point in the season.

But one of the reasons Fisher chose the Rams was b/c in Bradford he had a "Franchise" QB in place. I only bring up Bradford to show that -"Franchise QB" doesn't make a team a contender -Fisher's ability to support/develop a FQB is dubious. To me moving up for these prospects is a desperation move not a move spurned by the talent of the QBs available.

Their only chance at saving their jobs is to hit a home run in the draft.

But that's the thing, drafting a QB gives buys them a grace period. They're not going to get fired a year after drafting their QB.

Makes a new plan that says he will take multiple years to implement, which in turn, pacifies the masses.
