Granted none of us get to set the actual Browns draft board, I'm curious who your top 3 guys are at the top of the draft? Also, if you want to delve into later rounds, who are your 5-10 guys that you're looking to grab in later rounds.
Round 1: 1) Carsen Wentz - I'm not sure he's the best guy in the draft, but I think he has the most potential for a critical position. At worst, he's compared to Joe Flacco, except he's got some mobility. I can live with Joe Flacco as our QB. At best, he's compared to Andrew Luck. Goff is the better QB right now, but I think Wentz has the better ceiling. Since we have RG3 to start for a while and a QB Whisperer as a coach, I think Wentz would have a great situation to work under for awhile to help reach his potential.
2) Jalen Ramsey - A San Diego sports talk radio guy brought up this stat yesterday: Out of the last 20 Super Bowls, there were more Pro-Bowl/All-Pro Safeties playing than there were QBs. Granted there are two safety positions and one QB position, but generally teams don't carry two Pro-Bowl level safeties. But the point to be made is that of the teams playing, Safety was the position that featured the most top-level players than any other position. Having had to go up against Troy Palomalu and Ed Reed for years, it would be nice to put the shoe on the other foot for once. I think Ramsey would really set the tone for our Defense.
3) Joey Bosa - While I'd be fine with Goff, Tunsil or Goff as well, I think Bosa is the guy I'd prefer over them. The Broncos just showed us you can win a Super Bowl with an elite pass rush. If we don't get Ramsey to lock down the secondary, I'd be fine with getting Bosa to ease the pressure off the secondary anyway.
2nd Round: 1) Josh Docston 2) Will Fuller 3) Corey Coleman 4) Derrick Henry 5) Michael Thomas
Of the top three, any or all of them could go in the first round. I get the feeling one of them will drop anyway. We should get that guy. Thomas could be the consolation prize of the group, because we absolutely need WRs, but I'd be just fine with Derrick Henry too. It would give RG3 or Wentz/Goff (If we get one of them) at least one weapon to work with. I like what the Raiders did last year. They got Cooper and then drafted Carr. They got their QB a top level guy to work with throughout his career. Since there's no Amari Cooper in this year's draft, I'm fine with grabbing a WR after the QB.

These are 3 i would be thrilled with.
1. Bucker the more i watch the kid the more I am convinced he is the best player in this draft period. What he lacks is just refined technique.
2. Laquin Treadwell big bodied physical receiver that will attack the football play after play. He is the redzone beast we need.
3. Paxton Lynch, I think he is the best QB by far 3 years from now. This is a huge kid, with big hands, excellent accuracy and ELITE arm strength. He needs coached up on how to be a drop back nfl QB. 2 years of RG3 infront of him would be a good thing.
2nd round
1. Vernon Butler if he falls here its a major steal. Kid similar to Buckner is a beast pass rusher and hasnt even scratched the surface of his talent.
2. Noah Spence. Has the history and didnt test well at the combines but this is a kid thats gonna get u a dozen sacks every year.
3. Big Henry I like Crow but Henry would be an upgrade and fits the punisher than Hue wants in his back. Henry and Duke would be a lot like Fast Willy and the Bus.

You would want Treadwell or Lynch at #2?

If we end up going through with the Philadelphia deal, I'd take Doctson at 8.

What does your Browns draft board look like?
Have you ever heard of the Trail of Tears? From what I've seen the past several years, it really doesn't matter who we pick.

Realistically after the trade, for the first round, assuming bot Goff and Wentz are taken as well as Bosa, Ramsey and Tunsil, I'd put 1st round as:
Buckner Jack Lawson Hargreaves Staley
If both Buckner and Jack were still available at #8, I'd be calling TB immediately and asking for #9 - #32, Philly's 2017 1st rounder, and Philly's 2016 4th rounder as a starting point. Maybe add in a conditional 2018 pick as well. Not sure TB would drop that far, but I'd be pushing hard for it.

Put this together this morning... probably higher level of detail than is warranted.
Guys that are not on the list are
A) guys I haven't watched enough to rank B) guys who I don't think are scheme fits C) guys I'm certain will be gone before our first pick D) guys who I would have rated so much lower than they will go that there's no point in listing them

Your whole list is discredited because you do not have Thomas Duarte listed at tight end.

Thanks for doing this, I'll use it as a point of reference since this is my first true "homer" draft, going in completely clueless. Not sure how any fan can enjoy this and I probably won't watch. What's the point of watching, if you have no clue? Anyway, just couldn't risk another draft day depression, lol
I'll watch the new Brownies after they've been picked and throw in my couple cents then. Enjoy the draft and remember: it can't get worse, it really can't

Awesome Job Steve!
As just about every year at a day before the draft my big brained list is not quite ready for prime-time, but I hope to finish it tonight.

My Browns big board:
Round 1 - Someone who might start by game 5 but will be a disappointment to all players/fans by 2018 and be released early 2019.
Round 2 - A so-so lineman who could've been taken in the 6th round.
Round 3 - A small school prospect that never pans out.
Round 4 - Leftovers at some position we should've drafted in the 2nd round. Probably a small WR with 4.9 speed.
Round 5 - A kicker. Arguable, the best pick in the draft.
Round 6 - A QB who is just good enough to get people talking about him in camp, who will eventually get to play by week 14 and then get injured during a skiing trip in January.
Round 7 - Backup fullback.

My top would look more like:
Doctson Ramsey Treadwell Zeke Lawson
Like you've had in a few mocks, I'd love to get Doctson and Treadwell. I put more emphasis on Doctson, though.
I'd probably have Robinson, Butler, Spriggs between this group and the 2nd rounders.
I'd have OSU Michael Thomas near the top of my second round list with Ogbah, and would have Spence/Nkemdiche around that same area. Why no love for @Can'tGuardMike?
Then Vonn Bell, Billings, and Apple in that 2-3 range.
Beyond that depends on who we got earlier.

Damn Steve, that's a lot of work. Well, appreciated. I'll print this out and reference it during the draft. Yeah, I'll probably get comfortably numb and watch the whole thing.
Thanks!

Pick 32:
Designated pass rusher 1 (RDE/ROLB) = Emmanuel Ogbah, Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd
Left cornerback = Rumors have Mac Alexander falling even though I don't believe it. If pass rushers above are gone I hope some staffer sprints to the podium to turn in the card that say Mackenzie Alexander CB Clemson
Wide receiver 1 = Hope 1 of the top 3 fall or Will Fuller, Sterling Shephard, Michael Thomas, Tyler Boyd
Defensive tackle = Jonathan Bullard one of the last of the 5-tech DE/3-tech DL that can provide interior pressure, Kenny Clark, Chris Jones
Tight End = Hunter Henry
Right tackle = Jason Spriggs, German Ifedi

The Browns had Ifedi, Alexander, Thomas, Fuller, and Jones in for team visits...
The Cleveland Browns - WE KNOW QUARTERBACKS ( Look at how many we've had ... )

Round 7 - Backup fullback.
this just might be the most accurate mock, like.... ever.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Damn Steve, that's a lot of work. Well, depends how you look at it. Actually making this list only took an hour maybe an hour and a half, but all the background churning of watching games, reading stuff, doing mocks, looking at needs throughout the year... I don't want to think about how much time I buried in that, lol.

#8
1)Jalen Ramsey CB - Most talented player in entire draft. 2)Laremy Tunsil LT - Most dominant Offensive Lineman in draft 3) If these 2 are not available trade down.
If picking mid 1st after trade down.
1)Laquon Treadwell WR - Best Wide Receiver in draft. 2)Josh Doctson WR - Right there with Treadwell. Like splitting hairs. 3)Paxton Lynch QB - Good spot to draft a talented but developmental QB.
2nd round
1)Usually have a player or 2 drop out of the 1st unexpectedly. Would have to do some serious evaluation of who drops and how much of an impact player they potentially could be. There are different mock drafts that have any of the 3 players I listed as mid first targets. Would have to seriously consider any of them at 32 if they fall. Could be other players like Taylor Decker falling.
2)Pass Rushers like Kevin Dodd, Noah Spence, and Jonathan Bullard.
3)Wide Receivers like Michael Thomas and Tyler Boyd.
4)QB - If Browns do not select Lynch in 1st then players like Cook and Hackenburg would have to be considered here.
3rd round
Good spot to look for offensive line talent like Shon Coleman of Auburn. Many experts say had he returned to school another year he would have been a 1st round prospect next year. Or Kyle Murphy OT from Stanford.
Also for Defensive Lineman like Sheldon Day of Notre Dame. A very good 1 gap penetration player or Adolphus Washington of Ohio.
4th round
If Browns have not selected a QB up to this point they could look to take Stanford QB Kevin Hogan. Who by the way is the only QB in this draft that checks all of the boxes by the Bill Parcells criteria in what to look for in QB.

4)QB - If Browns do not select Lynch in 1st then players like Cook and Hackenburg would have to be considered here. I generally agree except for this. Cook and Hackenburg are both guys who have the tools but lack character. I would consider Prescott, Jones, or Hogan before either of these guys.

Yeah, I'll probably get comfortably numb and watch the whole thing.
That's what I do....every single pick, rounds 1-7. Just. Can't. Look. Away. Friends, family, significant others (on occasion) know not to bother.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Bless you Clevesteve...that is a lot of work. I might not always agree with some of your picks, never the less that is something I don't think I ever could accomplish
Me - for years I have been printing up Great Blue North Draft rankings. They do entire and positional.
But I print the entire and clipboard it and take out picks as they are made. They are pretty accurate, after 15 it goes different but usually the first page is 28 players cause of the HEADINGS and stuff. By the end of the first round all but ONE around 23 or so are taken (somebody usually drops back) Then you never know. I hated 2009 when we took Vekiune and he wasn't on the list of 300 Patriots many times take somebody early that I have to get to the 3rd page for the first time on my list to check off then they seem to always turn out to be studs. I respect their decision process.
Us in the past always seem to be within 2-3 slots of the guy we are taking in the 1st. Anyway for the lazy (or not Clevesteve) its a good one to print and use if you do that kind of thing. I usually have 2 different colored hilighters One for the NFL teams...and the other for our Browns!

Well, I guess I'll redo this since I started the thread when we were still at #2.
For #8, my board looks something like this (and changed by the minute): 1) Ramsey 2) Wentz 3) Tunsil 4) Buckner 5) Goff 6) Bosa 7) Jack
If one of those guys slips to #8, I'd probably take them. If all 7 is gone, and I'm forced to pick someone, then I'd probably to with Zeke, even though I hate taking running backs that high.
If we get a good trade offer to the middle of the first, then my board is probably something like:
1) Treadwell 2) Lynch 3) Doctson 4) Shaq Lawson
One of those 4 should be available
For the second round, it remains the same as my original post. Take the top WR that fell out of the first round, or Derrick Henry if all of them happened to go.
1) Treadwell 2) Doctson 3) Coleman 4) Fuller 5) Henry 6) Boyd/Thomas
Third round: Take the top linemen available or grab someone who happened to fall. WR's like Boyd, Thomas or Brax might be an option too. Just go for the value pick.

Okay I'm hoping this doesn't look horrible when formatted. The row on the right is the Brown's order. The row on the left is where I expect them to get drafted. Ignore the positions listed as it is just copied from the CBS database and will be off.
There are guys listed after pick 253. Don't confuse their weight with a ranking.
Mr irrelevant if the Browns had the last pick would be:
252 Steven Daniels ILB Boston College Sr 5-11 243 253
If you copy it to a spreadsheet, it will look much better.

I think the Browns will pic a QB but not before the 3rd rd. ... here are who I think they are looking at:
1. Christian Hackenberg 2. Cardale Jones 3. Kevin Hogan
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Round 7 - Backup fullback.
this just might be the most accurate mock, like.... ever. We've all seen this movie before, haven't we? Doesn't seem to matter where we pick or who the FO personnel are at the time. We are always CONVINCED that the newest FO guys are finally gonna get it right. And they never do. Yet here we are...all hopeful...just waiting to be let down again.

A few may be CONVINCED, but I think most of us are simply hopeful. Yes, this regime could be as bad as past regimes. But there is always to POSSIBILITY that they do well. Logic says that at some point in time, someone has to break that pattern.

My Brown's draft board is the Ray Farmer Limited Edition,it's round, has the numbers 1-20 around the outside, and a small red circle in the middle.
Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem

Can it really be worse than what the football guys got for us the last two drafts?

Can it really be worse than what the football guys got for us the last two drafts? A lot of people on here say that. I don't get it. If I go to a doctor about my back pain and he can't fix the problem, I do not go to a plumber to fix my back. I try another doctor.

Possibly... how about 12 picks all in round 7... Seriously though.. based on how we have done draftwise since Haslam bought the team.. could the new guys do much worse ?

If I go to a doctor about my back pain and he can't fix the problem, I do not go to a plumber to fix my back. I try another doctor. Or a chiropractor or physical therapist. Different professions that try and do some of the same things. Any FO is trying to build the best team...some may have different education or experience and means to build it. We've only tried out the doctors--maybe the chiropractor will fix the problem.
