I really don't think we will be picking at #8 ... JMHO

Eagles get our #2 pick and a conditional 2017 4th round pick

We get their #8 pick this year as well as their 3rd round pick (#77, fourth round pick (100) and 2017 1st round pick and a 2018 2nd round pick

If this turns out to be accurate, we fleeced them.

I agree, I see another trade coming on draft day.

I like the trade, not as much as initially reported yesterday, but I would do it every day.
(Providing we didn't think either quarterbacks were franchise or obtainable)

Cleveland acquires Philadelphia's 2017 first-rounder

The Browns and Eagles agreed Wednesday to a trade of first-round picks and other selections in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 drafts.

Cleveland will trade Philadelphia its 2016 first-round selection (No. 2 overall) and a conditional 2017 fourth-round selection for Philadelphia’s 2016 first-round selection (No. 8), third-round selection (No. 77), fourth-round selection (No. 100) along with the Eagles’ 2017 first-round pick and a 2018 second-round pick.

The Browns now have 12 selections in the 2016 NFL Draft, tied for most of any team, including six of the top 100 picks.

Kudos to the new guys. If nothing else, it tells me that they don't think much at all of any of the top QB's.... in which case, this is the perfect move.

Wow, that's a lot. The 2018 2nd rounder is really big (I figured we'd get their first rounder in 2017, but I wanted that extra 2nd rounder).

Well, I assume this proves we weren't taking a QB #2 no matter who owns the #1 overall pick.

Now that it appears Goff/Wentz are all but gone, it's time to go all in and trade Joe Thomas to the highest bidder.

Counterpoint: Or, they are all in on RGIII.

This roster needs completely rebuild, so this is the right move.

I would hold onto Thomas going into the season. At least give RG3 a chance. If he doesn't get it done, Thomas' value won't drop by the deadline, to the contrary. If a contender needs a LT and far away from the draft, picks are less valued than now in offseason mode.

Man, I chose a bad year to not scout this draft class as I usually do, but it will be even more fun to watch and evaluate this regimes new picks after the draft.

After this trade I think we should stay at 8 and take the best player available no more trade downs. We can still take a young qb at 31 if we like someone. I personally would take other position players and worry about QB in the future.

We fleeced them? Not if that QB they take turns out to be a franchise player. Then they fleeced US. If Wentz is the guy and he turns out to be a top five QB every year while we never find one? How great is the deal then? If we blow the picks we got how great is the trade? Time will tell who fleeced who.

I like this trade.

I'd have stuck for Goff but it appears that wasn't going to be the case once the Rams jumped. Just satisfied to see we didn't give it away. Philly is a top 15 team next year in the draft. (maybe even top 10?). 2017 draft should be interesting for us.

I really like this trade. We are full of holes, and drafting a QB now will do nothing but potentially break him. Lets build the roster, then go get that potential franchise guy. RGIII and McCown are a decent set of QB's to hold us over until we find that guy.

Really like what we got for the pick, now we just need to pray that this regime can find some talent and not let the picks go to waste!

I don't think you can be in this business and worry too much about these things. I get it but it is what it will be and we live with it.

I figured Wentz was the QB we were targeting.

I will say this, there is no chance that the Eagles traded up without knowing, or having good reliable source that they know who LA is taking. All of the speculation was that the Browns (rightfully so IMO) wanted Goff and that the Rams are taking him.

I am very glad they saw what I saw in Wentz, a project. This team is not equipped to sustain a project at QB right now.

Maybe Zeke at 8? or Lynch?

The other side of that is, with an O line that is at best questionable as of now, a lacking running game, and receivers that are iffy, what qb would come in and be good? What qb would be able to withstand a possible constant beating this coming year?

It's a TEAM game.

As someone else mentioned somewhere, let's build a team first, then we can get a qb.

I guess that's how we have to look at it at this point. It won't be a 1 year turnaround, or a 2 year turn. JMO.

Absolutely. No reason to keep a left tackle when you don't have a QB anyway. Dump JT and get another pick. Trade down out of 8 so we don't have a top ten player and we are set. Take a guy at 8 and eventually you'll have to pay him. Trade down and you're more likely to get an average guy. A good solid role player. Those guys are a lot cheaper. And cheaper is better in analytics.

Come on guys take Ezekiel Elliott. At least we could run the ball. We sure as hell won't be throwing it.

I hope that's not the case. I just don't see Bosa being all that great at the next level...
