Andre (Worldchumps) is the biggest lying hypocrite on this board. Look at his post above and how he rewrites history on the move and blames everyone and doesn't actually know what happened. It's nothing new and then he'll know post saying that he is right, even though EVERYONE involved including Modell stated publicly at the time statements that prove Andre is lying. An example would be Modell AGREED to wait until the Gund and the Jake was built and then get his new stadium.....all the while he was planning a move. That's not the city officials fault or anyone else's except the man that lied and stabbed the city in the back. That man is Art Modell. He is fully responsible for what happened. He lied. That's why Andre defends him so much. They are birds of a feather.

Hey Coach! Do you remember an old Browns/Ravens player by the name of Rob Burnett? He also stated the same thing on an interview conducted with him about two / three years ago on a Baltimore radio station. In that interview, Burnett talked about the deplorable conditions of Municipal Stadium in Cleveland, and how Modell and even players voiced their concerns that if they can't get a new stadium, at least could the current stadium be renovated. Of course the renovations ane new stadium never happened.

Bottom line is Browns fans and their city, want to do nothing more than point fingers and use anything under the sun to scapegoat and blame others for the Browns move. When the bottom line is the city officials in Cleveland are the real cause of the move. Everyone wants to talk about Modell's GREED. Why was it greed? Because the man saw through the city of Cleveland's "dog and pony show" and knew that the city of Baltimore already had a concrete plan in place to get him a state of the art facility? Since 1974 Art Modell ran Municipal Stadium. Making all the money off of the Browns fans as well as raking the Indians over the coals. Modell would have gotten his stadium but Cleveland decided to take care of Modell's tenants first.

Modell REFUSED to have the Jake be a facility for football and baseball, wanting a seperate facility that was football only. We have our tradition which is important to the fans, and we have our memories which are priceless. So while that does nothing to help us win games this year, it is more important in the long run, because 10, 20, 30 years from now we will still have our good memories, while people will not remember if we won or lost last week, or this week.
