with less than a week to go - and with 2 QB's out of the picture for sure, what is your call for the draft? I'm interested to hear now who people want (or don't want) rather than after the draft.
As for as QB's go - I think the only guy I'd be interested in is Cook. And I think I am at the point of saying I would take him at #32. . .
At #8 - I'd like to trade back to no lower than 15 and take one of the OT's - If that doesn't happen my preference is for Tunsil, Duckner Jack ... in that order. Chances of getting Tunsil slim to none.... but he's on my list. If they are all gone ... I am wrestling with Elliot. I think he will be a stud - but I don't know that we should draft him that high.
Only other guy I'd really like to see if Braxton Miller in the 3rd round. I think with as creative as Hue has shown himself to be on offense, BM could be very productive.
Guys I don't want: Lynch, Derrick Henry.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Mine doesn't change at all from what I posted in Excl's "What does your Browns draft board look like? " thread. And as I said in that thread, if Buckner and Jack were to both be available at 8, I'd be on the phone with TB immediately.
Buckner Jack Lawson Hargreaves Stanley

I agree with your thoughts ... but which players? ... in your opinion ??? The purpose of the thread is to get people to commit to who they would draft before the draft happens. That way, there is no revisionist history! And no rearranging the players based on knowing who falls and who doesn't.

If Jack's knee checked out fine with our doctors, I think he can be a star. If it did not and Bosa, Elliot are both off the board, I am looking to move down again.
I would take Hackenberg before I took Cook.

The top 7 of my "draft board" would go something like:
Wentz Ramsey Bosa Buckner Jack Tunsil Goff
I'm hoping one of those 7 drops to #8.
After that, it's Stanley or Zeke, and I'm not sure how thrilled I'd be taking an OT or a Running Back there. It's also way too early to be taking a WR or Paxton Lynch, so I'm not sure what I'd do at that point. Maybe a team desperate for a Running Back trades up with us and we take that WR in the middle of the first round? Or maybe Lynch?
Lynch is kind of funny. He was neck and neck with Goff at the end of the season as being a late First Round type of talent. Then the Senior Bowl and Off-season stuff came and suddenly Lynch fell off the map and Wentz became an overnight sensation with Goff moving up as well. I'd be fine with taking him in the middle of the first.

I don't really have a "you gotta get him" guy. Perhaps Bosa if I was forced to categorize one.
Bottom line is, we have holes to fill and depth and etc to add, so I really could care less of position chosen, as long as that kid is an impact player and not a Gilbert/Manziel/Weeden and etc.
If we select kids that can play and contribute, we're already light years above previous drafts.

Ideally I'd like to trade back with Miami or Tennessee (they'd be after Elliot or an OT) ... and then draft Treadwell, Lynch, or anyone who fell
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Buckner, Treadwell, Jack....in no order.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I don't want anything to do with Bosa, Lynch, Elliot.
If we stay at #8: Buckner, Jack, Lawson. Tunsil, should he fall that far, is a no-brainer.
If we trade down: Treadwell or Doctson. Depending on how far we drop, Darron Lee, LB, could be in play.

My exposure to Buckner is very minor ... but I did see him suck ass on a big stage. I'd be weary to draft him

Who do I think will be available ? Referencing my mock draft ... Goff, Wentz, Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack, Bosa and Buckner are off my board. So @ the top of my board and I'am not trading back or haven't had a suitable offer ... I would have the two top rated OT's ... Conklin and Stanley, and then there's CB Vernon Hargreaves.
(IF) we move back again, then I would think it would be for one of the top 3 WR's ... All of them bring alittle something differnt to the table. Coleman brings a ST's skill set (what we lost with bj), but any would be a welcome addition.
For all any of us know, they might have one on their board @ 8.

I certainly would not rule out either one. I wouldn't rule out that we traded a chance to draft a QB @ 2, for one that rushes one like a Shaq Lawson @ 8.

If we go Saftey in the second round, I'm sort of hoping BSU safety Darian Thompson falls to us.

I'm really high on this year's class of Safeties (I'm also high on IC). To bolster a pretty good class already ... is some very intriguing hybrid types. I think Thompson is an option @ FS, but I don't think we will need to trade up for him. His draft range is 70-100 imo.

I'm going to assume that Goff, Wentz, and Ramsey will be gone by the time 8 rolls around. So I won't mention their name.
Jack is the #1 guy I "hope" to the Browns to acquire. After that, I'd like Buckner, Tunsil, or Hargreaves

Ramsey, Joseph, Neal and Bell ... All will probably have higher grades on most draft boards ... Then teams will have Thompson along with a list of simular grades on Killebrew, Green, Cash and Kevin Byard who's been one of the biggest risers of all of this years prospects, scince his pro-day. Thus my wide speculation on his draft range ... It will come down to who fits who's bpa. Almost forgot to add Sean Davis. Who some teams will ptoject to Safety and others, will see him as a CB. Deion Jones is another hybrid type of the SS/LB variety. To summarise: Ramsey is in a tier of his own. Joseph, Neal and Bell are your 2nd tier. The other afore mentioned Safety prospects are your 3rd tier and I think one with good value in rounds 3&4.

Well I am 99% sure that Goff/Wentz are the first two picks.
Ramsey should be the next pick...Jack medical concerns which are not that drastic have the draftnicks dropping him.
I do find it odd the guy DJ had us taking Jack at #2 even with the injury stuff and now in his revised mock have us taking Jack at #8. So I guess he thinks only the Browns take Injured players high? If its not that bad...I just don't see Jack getting past the Ravens
He is my guy (Jack) as long as the injury does not have him miss any games.
Jack, Tunsil, Buckner, Bosa, Elliot or Hargreaves...I will be happy with anyone of those. Right now in that order. The only one outside of the 2 QBs I consider impossible to drop is Ramsey.

I want Doctson. I'd prefer lower, but I could live with doing it at 8.

jmho EO, you should what the video about "Leading up to the Browns draft", it was really good. In the video Sashi and Berry talked about checking medicals at the combine and before the draft. Sashi also talked a little bit about the trade with Philly. Good stuff.

I'm not sure. I assume the first 2 picks will be Goff & Wentz. 5 more players will be off the board. I see them as some order of Ramsay, Tunsil, Jack, Bosa, and Buckner. If any are still there, I would either take (Ramsey, Buckner, Jack) or strongly consider (Bosa, Tunsil.) Bosa worries me with his off field questions, and I'm not crazy about investing another high round pick in OL yet. If they are all gone, I think it's between (in order of preference), Treadwell (I know 8 is high, but I really like him), Lawson, Stanley, Hargreaves, and Conklin. Again, Stanley and Conklin are OL and I would rather go after playmakers. Just can't ignore their value here.

Best impactful player available.
Which means not Tunsil or Stanley. Probably Jack if healthy. If not, I am good with Lawson, Treadwell, Doctson, or Bosa, if he falls.
I would prefer a trade down again.

I forgot to include Zeke. I know you shouldn't take a RB that high, but dang is he tempting. I would place him between Treadwell and Lawson in my list above. I would not be sad or angry if he was our pick at 8.

http://nfltraderumors.co/several-teams-expect-trades-top-draft-dolphins-titans-possibility/Jason La Canfora reports that “several teams” are convinced that there will be more trades at the top of the 2016 NFL Draft, while mentioning the Dolphins and Titans as two teams that could possibly trade up.
Canfora adds that the Dolphins would likely be trading up to select Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott, while the Titans could look to target either Michigan State OT Jack Conklin or Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley.
The Titans now hold the No. 15 pick after trading the No. 1 overall pick to the Rams in exchange for a package of selections. The Dolphins currently have the No. 13 pick.
La Canfora was told by numerous NFL executives earlier this week that Titans GM Jon Robinson is “far from done” in regards to moving around in this year’s draft.
“He’s moving back up,” an executive told La Canfora. “He has the ammo to do it and it’s heading in that direction.”
According to La Canfora, any trade with the Titans will not be completed until the day of the draft and that moving up may cost Tennessee a second-round pick to do so.
As for the Dolphins, it is worth mentioning that the Cowboys have been a team that has been linked to Elliott, so Miami may have to trade ahead of Dallas at No. 4 in order to acquire him.
The Chargers at No. 3 have confirmed that they are open to trading their pick, so that could be a situation to keep an eye on.
We’ll provide more information regarding any possible trades as the news becomes available.

My preference is to trade back if we can and grab Doctson. If we have to stay at 8, I'd want them in this order if they're there. Jack, Buckner, Ramsey, either of the remaining Tackles (Conklin or Stanley).

N2U, but the Miami trade makes no since whatsoever to me. If they wanted to draft Elliott @ 8 they already had that option. They I think are hopeing and perhaps even gambling that he will fall to them @ pick 13. Do ppl think we will take less, than they received to move back in the 1st trade

I would stay at 8 for either Tunsil or Stanley. If neither of them are available then I trade down to the teens for an extra 2nd round pick and take Conklin or Decker.

It depends on who would be available...
Ramsey Jack Ragland Buckner Hargraves Lawson Alexander Lee Treadwell
I don't want to take OL in the first round, but outside of that it really is a Best Player Available situation. I do not know how their board is set up but I would be happy with any of the ones I listed.

My dream.
Rams - QB Eagles - QB Dolphins - Elliott Cowboys - Bosa Jaguars - Jack Ravens - Tunsil 49ers - Ramsey Browns - Buckner
Or any alternate scenario that ends up with us getting Buckner at 8. Especially seeing as I was happy to take him at #2.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

No brainer to me.
TRADE DOWN.
Tenn at 15 and I want 15, a 2nd this year and one of their 2017 1st rounders. NO LESS.
Jets? How bad you want Lynch? 20, 2nd rounder THIS year and your 2017 1st rounder. NO LESS.
We target Doctson or Ragland.
Just do it and get as many top 75 guys in here as possible because in 2017 we're STILL gonna need a damn QB.

I started a similar thread, but it was deleted. I got tired of posters saying that some of us would complain no matter what the FO does. So, I wanted to put things out there before they happened so those accusations would be eliminated. I also reasoned that it would help stop people from being accused of homerism. I didn't think that a lot of the people who make those accusations would post their thoughts, but I thought it might help stop the accusations. I put it in the Pure Football forum so it would be there for easy reference throughout the year.
One of things I said that I hoped the Browns would do is trade down. They have already done so. So, I give them props from trading out of the second overall pick and acquiring more picks.
I have already posted my thoughts on what they should do at 8, but I'll post them again. Besides, I have ammended some of my thoughts since the day of the trade.
Okay.
What I would be good with:
--Ramsey: best player in the draft
--Bosa: Impact player
--Tunsil: I previously said I would be ticked if we drafted an o-lineman after allowing two to walk, but at 8, he would be a good value.
--Jack: I previously said I didn't want him, but really, I think anywhere from 8 to 15 is where he should go. The only issue is that they have to make sure the knee is okay.
--Hargreaves: Very good corner and the Browns need corners.
--Zeke: I don't like taking RBs this high, but he is a 3-down player.
--Trading down a few picks: I previously said no more trade downs, but if all of those guys are gone except for either Jack or Zeke, I would be okay w/a small trade down that would help us get guys like Spence, Doctson, Treadwell, Coleman, Apple, Nkemdiche, Rankins, Floyd, or Lawson.
What I would not like:
--Trading down significantly
--Trading down more than one more time
--Buckner. I think he has bust potential
--Lynch. Way too early.
--Stanley, or any other offensive lineman
What I would be disappointed with:
Drafting one of the guys I said I would be okay with if we traded down a few spots. I think those guys are good, but not quite worth the 8th pick, but I probably would not complain too much.
Now, I have a question for you. I know you made this post to stop guys from complaining about the FO after the draft, but will you hold guys accountable who later say they absolutely "love" the pick, as well?
You see, I don't think those guys will post on this thread. They are going to love it no matter what and hurl accusations that "some posters will complain no matter what the FO does." So, will you call them out.......or are you only targeting "negative" posters?

Long video right...40something minutes?
I did see it and really liked it and the guys running it. I loved how Paul feasted on every word Hue was saying...soaking up the info.
Don't know if I posted what I did before or after watching the video. Did so on the same day. yesterday

Vers, what is the red flag for you with Buckner? I have not seen him play, but I had the impression he was a fairly safe choice. Perhaps he is just too workmanlike without the big play potential that Bosa has? Too stiff? I like linemen, because I think they last longer and are generally safer, and since we're starting over pretty much, it seems to make sense. I like Jack, but the knee makes me think of Clowney - a super talent with a known health risk that you take anyway and then regret.

I think Buckner has a couple of issues. He lets guys get into his pads too much. Saw this when he faced better competition. Not a real good tackler. Doesn't change direction well enough. I think he beat guys because he was physically superior in college. He won't have that edge in the NFL. Similar to what happened w/Erving and Shelton this year.
