I wanna take the Titans trade just so Spiritbro's keyboard explodes.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

It's not one of the options above, but I like the idea of trading with Tenn for #15 and #33. That would give us back-to-back picks to start day 2.
The trade value chart says that's a value of 1630 for #8 worth 1400. They will try to get us to take their #43 instead of the #33 for 110 points less, but if there is demand for the pick, it might work.

The Browns are on the clock. We have 3 trade offers.
Miami offering #13, #73, and #107
Colts offering #18, #48 and #82
Titans offering #33, #43 and #45
Players taken
1) Goff 2) Wentz 3) Tunsil 4) Ramsey 5) Jack 6) Bosa 7) Stanley
Name your trade or pick. How about adding in some options for trading back with the Jets or Bills? Possible AFC East arms race shaping up … Normally NFL G.M.s don’t say much of anything at their pre-draft pressers, but New York Jets G.M. Mike Maccagnan somewhat surprisingly admitted at his that he called Tennessee about moving all the way from the 20th pick to the first overall before the titans traded the pick to Los Angeles. In the end, Maccagnan didn’t say which player the Jets would have been targeting, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that it was almost assuredly either of QBs Carson Wentz or Jared Goff. What one is left to wonder now that both are out of reach of the Jets might they now try and move up to acquire QB Paxton Lynch. And that could set up a rather interesting dynamic as the other team believed to be interested in moving up to get the former Memphis signal caller is Buffalo, the Jets AFC East rivals, which currently picks one slot ahead of the Jets at #19. One team that might be interested in trading down is believed Cleveland which of course has already traded once already, dropping from #2 to #8 in a deal with Philadelphia. And the Browns new management team has made it pretty clear that they want to accumulate as many picks as possible this year with the goal of building up the team’s base before investing a high pick in a QB. Stay tuned! http://gbnreport.com

Yep. I've been throwing that one around all weekend. Both of those IMO requires their 2017 #1. Chart be damned. They'd pay it for a QB. This is right in our wheelhouse for Ragland/Doctson. Problem is, do either of them think Lynch is worth the 8 pick? Hope they do. Three First Rounders in 2017 would be big. Keep in mind that 1st rounders carry that 5th year contract option versus 4 years. I'll be at the Lake Thursday with the peeps, but I guarantee you that the Pay as you Go Dish will be fired up for the entire 1st round. Fire, Viddles, Beer, Lakefront view, boat and the Draft! Now we're hearing rumblings of the Browns possibly moving up from 32? That 5th year option plays a role. This will be interesting.

As of right now with NO trade down at 8, I'm leaning a combo at 8 and 32.
I love Louis Riddick ESPN. What he says about Elliot makes every bit of sense. He affects 3rd down. Running, passing, blocking.
Also seeing multiple outlets indicating we really like OSU's Thomas.
RB Elliot 8 WR Thomas 32
Would be an interesting play.
Not a big fan of RB's in the top 10, but for this offense I kinda like it.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of trading back to mid/late teens and acquiring another 2nd or 1st next year.
For some reason I want us to take Michael Thomas .... I think he's going to be a good pro
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Boston is far to the left as KC settles into the slot. Fannin is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Sampson are split in the backfield as the ball is hiked ... Here we go."

If Elliot goes to Dallas at 4, this would trigger a move down for me.
Go to 15 and take Ragland LB and then Thomas at 32.

I'm no draft guru but I like what I read about Ragland.
I'm thinking that we need to look at drafting a tackle to play on the right side and who could slide to the left if Joe Thomas calls it in.... @ #8.

j/c... If we trade I won't be upset but I really wish us to stand pat now with our 6 top 100 picks and get it right.
At #8...I would like D...Jack, Buckner or a guy I'm feeling much better about...Lawson. In that order.
At #32...there will be several with a BPA moniker so that we would choose.
I am warming up to COOK my original hope for QB...the kid is Good and a steal at 32. Spriggs is a possibility. Henry is a possibility and can be our Banger! 4th quarter put a nail in the coffin RB. Or even a WR if they deserve BPA consideration. Fuller, Doctson, Treadwell???
Then back to building an awesome D!
Oh just to let you know my favorite WR...the BEST in this draft. Canaan Severin is being talked up by the Redskin draft board...(fan stuff) as a 4th or 5th rounder.
We got to get this guy! jmho
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

I will have to look a little deeper but I like the Jets deal.
I would be targeting One of the top receivers (Treadwell, Doctson, Coleman IMO. Not a huge fan of Thomas nor Fuller) or one of the Alabama defensive players. Ragland, Reed, or Robinson)
Before making the deal, I would ask the Jets to toss in Bryce Petty. I think he has potential with some more development and if the y are indeed trading up for a QB then there's no need for then to keep Petty - Rookie, Geno Smith, and resigning Fitz

I don't believe for 1 second that the Bills want to trade up for a QB. Yeah, not sold on that either. Didn't that have some kid Tyrod, Tyrone, or something like that that had a pretty decent year in 2015? Yeah, I don't see the Bills needing a QB right now.

Yeah lets get more mediocre talent and keep trading away top ten picks. May as well trade next year's 1st rd picks for even more questionable talent this year.

The Bills are interested in getting another QB because Taylor is in the last year of his contract and there is already bad blood negotiating an extension.

Let me break down players into 3 basic types. I could do more, but this is for simplicity's sake.
Type A players are the playmakers. On any given play they have the potential to change the course of the game. The opposing team has to account for them in their game plans.
Type B players are the main contributors. They provide the solid framework within which the type A players can operate. They too can make game changing plays but are both less likely to than type As and more likely to when teamed with type A players.
Type C players are the role players. They can contribute within a solid framework but have weaknesses which can be exploited if exposed. Their ability to affect the outcome of the game is limited to their role.
For type A players to be most effective, they need to be surrounded by as many type B players as possible. If you have type A players surrounded by mostly type C players, it is relatively easy for the opposing team to isolate the A players and exploit the Cs.
The Browns current roster is mostly type C players. I would list Thomas as our only established type A player. Haden was and could be again, but hasn't been for the last 2 years. Barnidge was last year, but may be more of a type B if the roster wasn't so bereft of As. Established type B players would include Bitonio, Kruger, Bryant, Kirksey, K Williams, Hawkins, and Duke. There are a few young guys who may yet prove out and I might have missed 1 or 2, but at this point, the rest of the team are type C players.
This team needs both type A and type B players badly. If we had more type B players, where the acquisition of a top 5 vs. a top 10 player would make a big difference, then I would be in complete agreement with your position that we shouldn't have traded down from the #2 spot. But without more type B players, acquiring the most elite player possible does little to improve the team because they can be too easily isolated. We can improve the Browns roster more quickly and effectively by adding more B's than we can by taking the 2nd best overall pick over the 8th overall pick.
We can still add type A players with #8 and #32, if we choose wisely. The trade increased our total number of picks in the top 100 from 4 to 6, so we essentially doubled our chances to adding type B players. All of the picks we acquired in the trade were in the top 100. If we were to trade back again (not too far), and acquire another pick or 2 in the top 100, that will further increase the possibility of acquiring enough Bs that next year we will be in a better position for the quality of a top 5 player vs. a top 10 player to be more important than the quantity of type B's we can accumulate.
AND, as I have also pointed out before, #2 overall vs. #8 overall doesn't ensure the better overall player. Players bloom, teams reach, and evaluators miss. It is possible that we could end up with a better player at #8 than the player picked at #2.

Whatever... it hasn't work for us to trade down ever and now we've done it again. I'm expecting pretty much the same results as always. Mediocre additions to an already lack luster roster as usual.

I agree.
I will say that it is a bit worrisome if whomever is left between Goff/Wentz studs out and the Browns keep trading down and end up w/a bunch of "guys."
I mean...........that is entirely possible.
It got me to thinking about something mac said. He said something like the Brown's FO was afraid to choose one of the qbs due to their lack of experience.
I've been thinking about that and I think it is just the opposite. They gotta have pretty big stones to make that trade. Grabbing Wentz/Goff would have made most fans happy. Critics would not bash them for taking a qb that had such good reviews that high. It was a safe pick in regards to public perception.
But man.........if that qb studs out and the Browns end up w/a bunch of guys like Phil Taylor, Robo, MoMass, Gilber, Erving, Hardesty, Weeden, Manziel............
Oh boy.........the crap will hit the fan!!!

It's something that could end in either direction. They don't have any real track record in running a draft, so we have no way of knowing how it will turn out.
Of course I've been lambasted for pointing that out. lmao But I don't really care.
I certainly hope they get it right for all of our sakes. But I have no way of knowing, no track record to base an opinion on and know that it can go in only one of two directions.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Why not take the next stud player at #2 if they didn't like the QB's? Now we'll most likely miss on Ramsey, Tunsil, Bosa, Jack, and Buckner. And taking a RB in the 1st rd ...Zeke...???
Pretty much leaves your favorite pick or another trade down.
For the #8 pick in the 2016 NFL draft the Browns take an Olinman, Jack Conklin.

The Browns have a lot of holes. Getting a lot of picks is good. I am not an apologist for the FO, but I like the move.
I'm not saying it will turn out well, but I get why they did it.

I had not really thought of it that way but I tend to agree with you. I am hoping that this signals a change from the "2 years and done approach" and that the FO and staff feel (or have been promised) that they will get more than 2 years. So they are content to drop back, gather picks, try to improve the overall talent level.. then move forward in a year or two for the QB they really want.

Yeah, my biggest worry is what will the Haslams do when it gets real ugly???? I get that and it's a huge concern. He certainly hasn't shown any patience yet. In fact, just the opposite to the tune of laughing stock. What encourages me is something DePodesta said in one of the articles using a roller coaster analogy, that he laid out he needed an owner who is willing to stick with it when it get scary, and that it's going to get scary before it gets fun. He's said that a couple of times which leads me to believe it was a prerequisite to Depo taking the job. That this FO gets the needed time to show real improvement. Another point of encouragement was in his presser Haslem said building through the draft will take several years. To me one is one, two is a couple and three is several. It's like he's resigned to the fact that it's going to take three years to build the roster to the point of competitive. In addition, he looked like a repentant guy in that presser if I can be so bold as to judge that. He just looked like he was apologetic in need of forgiveness. I'm really hoping that Haslem gets it this time. He has to know by now that you can waste so much time changing regimes every two years looking for instant success. Maybe he realizes if you give a regime 5 years you end up with the success you desire. Hell, I don't know. I just can't believe anyone could be so hard-headed, especially consider his results so far doing it his way.

I was listening to the "Move the Sticks Podcast" with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks. They are both convinced that the Chargers are taking Buckner with the third pick. http://hwcdn.libsyn.com/p/9/f/9/9f93e481...51be36dd0836557

He has spent a lot of money that doesn't count against the cap to hire the front office to set the strategy and make the calls. I don't see him going around that.
