What he says isn't false.... it's true that no matter what, it gets attributed to him.

Note what he didn't say: he didn't say anything to deny that it was Haslam; he merely stated that as the GM he is the guy that has to own it.

And he was 100 percent correct. The GM gets the credit or the blame for every draft pick by most people. I just goes goes to show you that most people are dumber than the GM's

Yep. I am really disappointed to see Haden at a Justin Beiber concert. I thought he had better taste than that.

As far as Manziel, it was reported that they had become pretty close friends over the past 2 seasons, and I don't think that I would just ditch a friend of mine, even if they were acting like a grade A jackass. Maybe Joe is hoping that he can be a steadying influence on Manziel? Maybe he hopes that he can get him to accept some help. Who knows?

While I di worry about the appearance of it, I am not going to completely freak out over a guy not ditching a friend, even though that friend got himself in a lot of trouble.

While I wouldn't necessarily dump a friend acting like an ass, you can bet your ass I would dump a friend that hit his GF so hard her eardrum was ruptured. That's not acting like an ass. That's acting like a guy that needs his ass kicked. Badly. It's unfortunate she didn't have any brothers willing to do so....

Hangin out with a piece of filth like Johnny drops Haden greatly to me. That he did so at a Bieber concert? Wow. Those concussions must have really scrambled his dome.

I admit that I would have real difficulty being friends with anyone who hit his girlfriend or wife. That type of abuse is an issue that I feel real strongly about, and I feel that this kind of violence has no place in our world whatsoever.

However, it is possible that Haden has bought whatever excuses Manziel has thrown his way. Heck, it seems likely that both Joe Haden and his wife have. It is also possible that they knew the girl, and had formed some kind of opinion about her that they feel somehow excuses what Manziel did. I don't know. I can't answer for them. It is also possible that Haden is his friend, and that Joe is trying to help him change, and get help, even though Manziel did something that is truly repugnant.

I can't answer for Haden.

The night for being indicted for striking a girl, Joe and has wife out there having a jolly ole time with him. What a joke, I wouldn't be caught dead with that woman beating druggie.

It's just me, but I'm quite disappointed in Haden. I wish we'd ban Manziel from entering Ohio.

According to Twitter, Manziel was watching the NFL draft in an Ohio bar by himself last night... I wonder if the reality of how far he has fallen has sunk in with him yet...

It was just 2 short years ago that he walked across that stage and quickly had the hottest selling jersey in the NFL... Now he can't buy a friend.

With people like Von, his spokesmen and probably many others - he probably still doesn't have a care in the world and likely don't believe he's done much wrong.

He probably still thinks he's going to play in 2016.

He tried buying 300 friends last night with the gift of Fireball shots! Earlier, he was alone in he bar.

Johnny Manziel's NFL career is on hold indefinitely, but the Browns' 2014 first-round pick faces issues much bigger than football. He spent 10 weeks in a treatment facility following his rookie campaign, but struggled with off-field issues for much of last season. Hours before the Browns' regular-season finale, Manziel was reportedly spotted in Las Vegas wearing a disguise, and by March he was out of a job.

Then last week, Manziel was indicted by a Dallas grand jury on Tuesday in the domestic assault case involving former girlfriend Colleen Crowley.

On Monday, Ryan Leaf, who was drafted second overall in 1998 -- one pick after Peyton Manning -- and subsequently struggled with substance abuse and did jail time, spoke with CBS Sports Radio's Marc Malusis and Maggie Gray about Manziel.

"I've reached out to Johnny and that's all we can do," Leaf said. "We can be supportive and unconditionally love somebody for who they truly are. I mean, his identity is tied up in this Johnny Football caricature. I don't know if he really knows who he is, or if he gets to express who he really is to people.

"I went through that for a long time. It's like looking in a mirror sometimes," Leaf continued. ... [B]ecause I didn't listen to anybody before because I thought I could deal with everything on my own because if you were vulnerable or asked for help that was weak. You didn't ever see the star quarterback stand in front of the team and look at them and say, 'Guys I need some help.' ...

"I always had to be the guy people came to for help. Teammates wanted to know what a play was or they were struggling with something -- I had to be the strong one. But asking for help is one of the strongest things I've ever done, and it's a powerful way to change your life. So might Manziel learn a lesson from Leaf's struggles before it's too late?

"Let me be clear, it had to be my [rock] bottom. So it's going to have to be [Manziel's] bottom, or anybody who's struggling with this disease. It has to be their bottom, they have to surrender and accept the help. In my case, I just had to be humbled enough that I woke up on a prison floor. A lot of times in my private moments when I was asking for help to God or whoever, I just didn't realize that He sent the Cascade County Sheriff's in Montana as my help. That's the way it worked."

Manziel's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, dropped him last month after Manziel refused to get help. And earlier this year Manziel's father said he didn't expect his son to see his next birthday unless he changed his ways.

For now, Manziel has until May 5 to turn himself into authorities following his grand jury indictment. Whether Manziel's case ends up in front of a jury could be up to him. Dallas-area attorney David Finn, a former family violence judge, says the district attorney's office could be willing to avoid taking the case to trial.

"My guess, and it's an informed guess, is they'll offer a conditional dismissal," Finn told NewsFixCW33.com last week. "'Hey Mr. Manziel you go to alcohol rehab, we do random drug testing and you do the batterer's intervention counseling or anger management or both, we'll agree to dismiss this.'"

If Manziel decides against rehab and drug testing, Finn expects the district attorney's office to push for a trial.

"If you don't want to help yourself, we're not going to help you and we'll see what six jurors in Dallas County think about the case," Finn said.

Johnny looks a bit like Jesse from Breaking Bad at this point.

Wow. That would make for a really funny "you know you've hit rock bottom when...." if it weren't true.

I feel very confident when I say the only way for JF to turns things around is to hit crash bottom. I don't see anything along the way to drive him into a different direction.

He'll need a very bad wake up call, as in likely a near death situation, before he gets on track. Losing marketing firms, agents, a job that man dream of, being indicted and just so on hasnt seem to deter him at all.

Looked like he was just frigidity but I wouldn't put it past him to do just that. Bit of a media stretch from what I saw in the video.

When I get frigidity I get up and get some snacks.

It seems to me that in almost every Browns game there is what I like to call an omen play. That is, something that happens during the game that sets the tone - usually negative - for the whole game. It's a play you just can't come back from and win the game.

Sometimes an omen sets the tone for a player's whole career: Case in point, Brandon Weeden getting stuck under the flag, pre-game. Remember that? (Yes, it wasn't actually during the game, but still.) I said to myself, "Oh, hell no! Omen! OMEN!!!!"

Johnny Manziel had one of those plays happen. Remember when he "took a nap" on the field? That was definitely an OMEN PLAY.



It really freaked me out when he did that. I just knew there was something seriously wrong here. (But still, we held onto hope, did we not?)

Like I like to always say (and Vers too!), don't blame me - I wanted Teddy Bridgewater!

Since Manziel is such a party-hound I think he should learn to play bass or guitar and join a punk rock group. For some reason I think this would be the perfect post-NFL career choice for him. And he could continue to use, all he wants. No one would even blink an eye.

I may be a boring humdrum middle class suburbanite with a few too many hobbies but thank goodness I'm not paparazzi scum chasing insignificantly famous people asking inane questions like are you going to take Michael Strahan's spot on tv to a moron who wears jewels on his teeth like the glow in the dark fangs we wore on halloween as kids.
