Lynch is worth #32 overall if he is there. Denver could pick Cook over him.
I think the Bills may be the team that grabs him though. They could sit him for a year and have a fallback plan when Tyrod Taylor leaves. I think Denver and Arizona are real threats. I think talk of the Jets, Bills and Saints interest/efforts to trade up are fabrications. Why would the Bills draft a QB when they stumbled onto to Tyrod by sheer luck?

From what I understand we may trade up ahead of SF to get lynch. That would be a huge reach...good grief! Hopefully the analytics say that would not be a good move...

Because Tyrod wants out and they'll need a replacement. He is a Free Agent next year. I don't think anyone will trade up. (Maybe the Jets) But I could see someone picking him before 32.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/04/28/late-word-emerges-of-a-paxton-lynch-free-fall/Late word emerges of a Paxton Lynch free fall Posted by Mike Florio on April 28, 2016, 11:22 AM EDT Zz0zMTRkZWZkM2NiOTA2ZjE4MjkyNjBkMjE5YjQ2OTNjMQ== AP Some have quarterback Paxton Lynch going in the top 10 of the draft. As the draft approaches, some have him not going in round one at all. (Maybe Lynch wasn’t able to whip up a sufficiently impressive soufflé.) Adam Schefter of ESPN says this: “Someone may be laying in ambush, but unless Dallas trades back into first round, hard to find a landing spot for [Lynch].” Some have suggested that the Saints could target Lynch. (That’s not happening.) Others have linked Lynch to the Jets. Rich Cimini of ESPN.com says that’s not happening, either. “Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch is the player most commonly linked to the Jets in mock drafts (including by me in the televised NFL Nation mock draft on Tuesday night), but I no longer believe that will happen,” Cimini writes. “I received late information on Lynch, and the sense I get is the organization has concerns about his maturity and ability to adjust to a pro-style offense. There’s a lot of smoke leading up to the draft, and sometimes it takes a while to see through it.” Then again, this may still be part of the smoke. As the process approaches, it become more, not less, important to keep people guessing. And there’s nothing like floating fake information to help a team keep its true intentions concealed. Besides, who ever goes back and dissects what was and wasn’t true in the days and weeks before the draft? Fans want to look ahead to the next thing; after the draft, the next thing to which to look forward is training camp, where all the rookies get thrown into a blender with all the veterans and we thereafter only pay attention to the rookies who get a chance to play — and who play well. For now, the objective of every team is doing anything they can to keep their real plans hidden.

jc Damn it. Draft day and reading through the board got to me, so I watched some P.Lynch I'll keep this short: Not a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round QB. Longshot size/athleticism project. Doesnt look like he has the brains to play the position. Reminds me of Kaep, who I didn't like as a prospect and still don't. After having seen Wentz and Goff....if the new Browns FO selects him ind the first OR second, it's all I need to know. I might fall into a similar depression when Manziel and Winslow were picked over Bridgewater and Ben. Just pass, please....

Well according to Sashi he is not going to trade back up into the first round. He thinks they are good where they're at. That was from an interview the other day that was on ESPN website I think. I copied and pasted it in another thread.

Well, Sashi said they would have no reason to trade back up from 32 for a QB.

I really like this kid. I can't imagine a better place for him to land than Denver. Good luck young man, good luck.

Jon's QB camp series really could be something good. He spends a whole day with them and all we get is ~22 minutes of fluff. Too bad they waste all the good stuff on the cutting room floor. The show drives me nuts but I still watch. I couldn't care less about 78% of the nonsense they show, more interested in the on the board work that they only show for 2-3 minutes.
I think Trevone Boykin, is a closer comp to Russell Wilson then Vernon Adams but still isn't a close comp. Neither here nor there but Trev is better QB then people think and I would bring him in the 7th/UDFA. I dunno, Boykin's lack of accuracy is part of the reason I like Doctson as much as I do. I think he's more an athlete playing QB, while Adams is a QB who is athletic. I do wish Adams was bigger (height and hands), but as far as making the right decisions I like him a lot better than Boykin. Boykin will bail out of the pocket turning his back on his receivers, while Adams does a better job keeping his eyes down the field while working the pocket/scrambling. Adams accuracy on the run is nice. On a side note, that Eastern Washington field is awful. Looks like the Seahawks have done it again. They're taking a look at both of them...they signed Boykin and are bring in Adams for a try out. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_...fted-free-agentSeahawks to add TCU QB Trevone Boykin as an undrafted free agent

We could have got Lynch on the cheap. Good move by Denver. Cleveland at least got Kessler (what are they teaching at Harvard?)

We gave our coach the guy he wanted to develop ..... and there are 2 other things to think about:
Reports were that our coach and front office liked exactly one guy at the top of the class at QB, and that guy came off the board at #1 overall. They reportedly did not like the other 2 who went in the 1st, nor did they like Prescott or Cook. I am not going to freak out over using the lowest of 3 third rounders on the QB our head coach liked as a developmental guy.
Also, we own 2 1st rounders and 2 2nd round picks next year, and are probably not going to win 4 games this year. If we want to move up for the top QB in next year's draft .... if we aren't already in position to pick him where we are, we'll have tons of ammo with which to do so.

I think any time you use a draft pick higher than needed to draft a player, you weren't smart with the pick. That doesn't mean the player you drafted is a poor player. It means you used a higher resource than necessary to acquire him. I do believe that happened here.
With that being said, the kid has some tools. He has accuracy. But I do believe some are trying to over sell him. He's basically a 4th to 5th round rookie with back up potential. Now that's not a bad way to spend a draft pick. The only difference is we spent a 3rd round pick on him.
An overreach? I believe so. But it's not like that's the end of the world.

I think any time you use a draft pick higher than needed to draft a player, you weren't smart with the pick. Do you KNOW that happened? Or, might it be safe to say this: The Browns had a clue who they wanted, and who else may have wanted that player, and the Browns made sure to get the guy that Hue apparently wanted? The other side to your "any time you use a draft pick higher than needed to draft a player, you weren't smart with the pick" scenario is: Any time a player you wanted got drafted before you were willing to pull the trigger is also a waste.

Odd. Nobody had a grade higher than the 5th round on the kid and you want to uphold it.
That's the funny part. I didn't knock the kid. I didn't knock picking the kid. I just felt they drafted the kid a little early.
See, nobody can question anything around here. It's a wonder people on this board don't uphold their own kids after the rob a 7-11.

Odd. Nobody had a grade higher than the 5th round on the kid and you want to uphold it. I don't know how good these guys are overall but the link is to a video on Kessler that grades him "3rd Round" and "#4 QB" in the draft. I bumped into this the other day trying to make sense of this pick. FootballGameplan See, nobody can question anything around here. I don't disagree with your take on the pick, but I do find playing the victim card is getting old. You can't make a post or pose a question expecting that no one will question you on it. Somebody's going to have a different view. The scenario goes like this: Poster 1 makes a post respectfully disagreeing with the team, then Poster 2 questions him on it, then Poster 1 claims he being unfairly attacked because he disagrees with the team. Maybe it's more this: Poster 1 makes a post respectfully disagreeing with the team and then Poster 2 questions him on it, not because Poster 1 disagreed with the team but because Poster 2 disagreed with Poster 1. It's a bit like being hit with a roundhouse kick when Poster 1 says 'the only reason you question my opinion is because you defend everything the team does right or wrong.' It's a cheapass way of trying to make the other guy's opinion invalid because, well, it's not really his opinion, he's just grasping at straws to defend the team.

I simply presented what may have been the scenario. I don't know if it's true or not. I DO know that just because the consensus appeared to be he was a later round pick doesn't necessarily make it true.

I like that guy. He does a lot of work and his opinions are always his. I don't agree with him on a lot of stuff but I appreciate that he is original in all his stuff. I think his number one or number two QB this year was some FCS guy I haven't heard anywhere else. Does all his promotion as well.

I'm gonna pay a lot more attention next draft. It was really helpful having the different mocks and lists you posted, especially the later one.
I usually stay out of the evaluation talk because I don't know enough about it. Watching video I'm not sure what I'm looking for so I learn nothing. This off season and after the upcoming season I'm going to check out some sites in attempt to learn a little of what to watch for at different positions. I still won't know much but it'll be fun.

You can't make a post or pose a question expecting that no one will question you on it. Somebody's going to have a different view. Oh I don't care about who questions it or that they question it. I've never heard the term "Odd" as meaning you are playing the victim. I always thought it meant unusual. But you are entitled to read that term any way you want. And yes, I guess if you dig long and hard enough, you can find someone who had a 3rd round grade on him. I mean there are exceptions to the rule in almost anything. I guess my point is, that if you wish to get the least amount of resistance around here you should say something like this.... Our draft was perfect! This is the best FO we've ever had here since our return. They never reached on any pick and all 14 of our draft picks will be superstars, starters or contribute for years to come. That's a little too Tabulicious for me and in no way reflects the actual outcome of any draft in the NFL.
