Jack Allen was the highest ranked center that went undrafted. Tyvis Powell was a big play maker in big games at FS. I like both those guys.

Family friends with JP Holtz ... great kid. He's a good worker and has a chance at TE

Hope they sign 6 of the best RB prospects they can find. While we covered pass rush and WR we didn't get a RB and we are terribly thin there. I can't really see Crowell as a 25+ carry a game star. Bring in as many as possible and hope one or two stick.

Mike Matthews, C, Texas A&M

6-2 290

Overview

Matthews is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews and brother of Jake Matthews, who was a first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Pro Day Results
40-yard dash: 5.43 seconds
Vertical: 24 1/2 inches
Broad jump: 7 feet, 11 inches
Short shuttle: 5.06 seconds
3-cone: 8.19 seconds
Bench: 30 reps of 225 pounds

Analysis

Strengths
Athletic center who moves well laterally. Plays with desired footwork to second level and in his short pulls. From renowned offensive line family and his technique is as good as expected. Pass sets with balanced, wide base and plays with good body control. Gets most from his physical tools. Understands how to secure and climb with smoothness. Solid radar for targets in space and plays with necessary change of direction talent.

Weaknesses
Short torso with a lack of arm length. Doesn't have the size to be able to hold to odd fronts. Technique must be nearly flawless against space-eaters. Lacks upper body power to stay glued to single blocks against true 2-gappers.

Draft Projection Undrafted free agent

Bottom Line Matthews is an absolute bulldog who plays with outstanding tenacity, consistency and technique. If he were bigger and stronger, we would be talking about him as one of the top five centers in this draft, but he lacks the size NFL teams need from their centers. Matthews' balance, body control and football IQ should get him a look in camp, but he has to add weight and keep it on to have a legitimate shot at making a team.

From Gil Brandt:

Texas A&M's Matthews could be an NFL center for many years

By Gil Brandt
NFL Media senior analyst
Published: April 6, 2016

Center Mike Matthews -- 6-foot-1 5/8, 297 pounds -- is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews and brother of Jake Matthews, who was a first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2014 NFL Draft. Mike Matthews was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. At Texas A&M's pro day, Matthews ran the 40-yard dash in 5.43 and 5.5 seconds. He had a 24 1/2-inch vertical and 7-foot-11 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 5.06 seconds and the three-cone drill in 8.19 seconds. He performed 30 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Matthews won't wow anybody with his pro-day workout numbers, but when you put on the game tape, he's a completely different player. His man rarely makes a play, and Matthews does a great job because of his competitiveness. Some team will sign Matthews as a priority free-agent following the 2016 NFL Draft, and he could be that team's center for many years.

Tracy, when at Miami, reminded me a lot of early Skrine. The WR would get a little bit of separation then Tracy would be on the kid, ball is still in the air, and then Tracy would run into the WR and get a pass interference. Their recovery time when beat is amazing. But they just can't get beat.

Really surprised we weren't able to lure a top RB (Barber, Green, Pressley, even the BG guy).

Glad to get Howard.

NEPatriotsDraft is saying Dominique Alexander. I'm surprised, I think he's a bit light to play in a 3-4.

Texans signed UCLA K Ka'imi Fairbairn.

Fairbairn (6'0/183) won 2015's Lou Groza Award as the nation's top kicker, finishing his career as the Pac 12's all-time leader in points scored (413). He went a middling 68-of-89 (76.4%) on field goals across four college seasons, but finished with 41 straight makes from 35 yards in. Fairbairn offers NFL-level leg strength for kickoffs and kept getting better as a field-goal kicker in college. He should have a future in the league.

No, Caleb went to iggles, and Travis to cincy.
