Sorry you're wrong, we aren't defending any worse than we were to start, we just aren't running our offense and hitting shots. Turning the ball over and letting a backup pg destroy our guards. Dribble penetration. Same thing all year. Atlanta has been in passing lanes and forcing everything outside Yeah, we got lazy on offense as well. As soon as we turned the screws late in the 4th, we pulled away again. The Cavs are their own worst enemy. If they played focused the whole game, they'd probably win by 40.... but, playing that focused the whole time when it's coming easy is kinda difficult. It takes more mental energy to keep yourself in it when you aren't being challenged. LeBron James had 5 steals tonight
Kyrie Irving had two blocks...
I like the way this team has responded so far when other teams make a run.
If Kyrie's going to start playing defense, this team is about to get s i c k
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

TT was definitely a difference maker tonight.
Of course Atlanta is going to make their runs.
They are an NBA playoff team too
It is unrealistic to think you are going to win every playoff game in a blowout fashion

Another good game for the Cavs. Man, this roster is loaded w/talent! When they play together, they are so fun to watch.
A few comments:
--BB is a game of runs. It's always been that way. Can't get too high when things are going well and can't worry too much when the other team makes their runs.
--Cavs played the passing lanes very well last night.
--TT is so valuable to this team. Does all the dirty work.
--We might be the only team that Schroeder can score on. Kyrie might have had a couple of blocks, but man, his perimeter defense is poor. Delly's issue is his lateral movement is pretty bad.
--I don't recall seeing Moz play at all. Did he? TT had to play a lot of minutes. I didn't look it up, but it seems like he played most of the game. I think they took him out at the start of the second, but ATL started hitting the boards and penetrating more, and he came right back in. This could be a concern.
--LeBron was very focused last night. Outstanding.
--I enjoyed watching this game. Man, we have some guys who can light it up. Some of Kyrie's shots were incredible.

No lies, I was sweating bullets there once they mounted that comeback, but we were able to gather ourselves. LBJ got no calls by the ref, which is just a continuance of the normal.
All and all, just wow. Intense.

What's up with the NBA scheduling game 3 of the Spurs/Thunder series for Friday? Why do they need three days of travel/rest after game 2? Momentum killer (not for any specific team, but just that it slows down the flow of the series).

Kyrie played really solid tonight. even though he had a rough night shooting, he came through in crunch time and played a pretty decent floor game...when he came out, and i can't believe i'm saying this, the defense was much much worse with delly in there...kyrie when motivated is lethal. The refs were absolute garbage, its like they are trying to target us for calls we got last year..

Yeah, I'm gonna refrain from stating how I felt about officiating last night. "Bought and paid for" is the thing that came to mind for me. It looked like the officials "used the force" to decide whether or not a foul was actually committed.

Yeah, I'm gonna refrain from stating how I felt about officiating last night. Yeah, I don't want anyone from Atlanta crying that Lebron gets all the calls. He went to the free throw line, what, once? Meanwhile, JR's elbow slides up the shoulder of Milsap and he gets a Flagrant 1 (though, I wouldn't of been completely shocked if they tried to give him a Flagrant 2 with the way they've treated JR this year). Shump gets a 2 minute flagrant review for what could of been a moving screen against him. And to top it off, they gave Korver a 3 shot shooting foul for an off the ball foul. Lebron got hit in the head on a drive, and no call ... Then again, did you see the whistle-swallow job at the end of the Spurs/Thunder?

It's weird watching a Cleveland team with 3 bonafide stars/closers. I never had any doubt at any time last night that the Cavs would win. I would hate to be a fan of a team like the Hawks. Who is going to win you games?
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

The Hawks are the Indians. Their only real star is about to bolt town (horford)
I don't take a second of what we have for granted. I'm enjoying every second of this. I didn't read all the posts during the game last night but I'm sure the freak out level was at an all time high in the 4th. This guy sucks, lue can't coach, etc. Just enjoy it.

Good read that spells it out a little more about how we're not getting the calls this year so far http://www.fearthesword.com/2016/5/3/115...free-throw-line and if anyone doubts that NBA refs are the worst in sports merely needs to watch the end of the OKC/SA game

All refs are bad in every sport. Their jobs are incredibly hard. They are also people who are driven by human emotion and that often gets in the way of the proper call.

There is an article I came across, which I didn't bother reading, but the title was something like "NBA admits there were 5 missed calls on the final play of the game".
How is there this level of ineptness in officiating? It's not like the NBA is struggling for money.

they are trying to swallow the whistle in crunch time.
right now they are in a lose/lose situation. no matter what, people are gonna complain.
at the end of the day, the refs don't want to be the reason a game is won/loss. the players are gonna dictate that.
there's flaws no matter which perspective is used, unfortunately.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

While I agree I don't understand how you can't call a foul when a guy out of bounds pushes a guy in bounds so he can pass the ball
I think it's idiotic that they send out the missed call list for the last couple of minutes... Don't send it to the public or nba teams - go to the refs and tell them what calls they missed and if they don't improve send them home

If Miami doesn't get Bosh back, we will beat them comfortably. They're not anywhere near as good as they're hyped to be. They have a horrible offense and they have meltdowns late in games that the Cavs would punish them for.

A few points after reading the new posts since last time I was on here:
--Officiating basketball is extremely difficult I think NBA officials do a great job.
--The Cavs are not being screwed by the refs. LOL
--Bosh is not Miami's best player. Whiteside and Wade are better at this point and Dragic is becoming a star right before our eyes.
--jay...........I think you meant Raptors/Heat game.

I was watching James harden's "defensive" effort on YouTube last night.
I know we still have the right to complain about kyrie's defense....but man...harden doesn't even try. It's embarrassing.

A crack on the floor plays better defense than James Harden. If the Rockets were smart, they should just keep him within the offensive half court the entire game.

Yeah, Harden is a horrible defender.
A lot of the top scorers give up big numbers on the defensive end. Some guys, especially centers, who are known for their defense, are actually guys who give up the biggest numbers.
I think it is because they go for blocks all the time and they are then out of position and give up rebounds and put-backs. The same can be said of a lot of guys who go for steals all the time.

I know we like to have sources and everything, but I believe I heard it on Mike and Mike yesterday that Bosh wants to come back, but the Heat won't let him. Their doctors are worried about the propensity of him developing more blood clots that could prove to be fatal. Bosh has contacted the league's union.

I have seen way too many times where Lebron has been outright hit by another player. If a guy like JR did these things to another player, he would be called for a flagrant.
In the last game, our 2 main penetrators, Lebron and Kyrie, combined to go to the line 3 times. 3 times, in the whole game. I mean, honestly, if you watched the game, did you see these 2 players get fouled only twice? I saw all kinds of over the top physical play, that was blatantly illegal. It is a continuation of the series of games against Detroit. In that series, Lebron was almost decapitated on more than one occasion, and yet there wasn't even a foul called.
I get that these guys have a difficult job, but it seems like they are son worried about showing favoritism to the stars that they ignore even blatant fouls committed against these star players. However, if they cannot do their job .... because they cannot keep up with the action, or because they are afraid of public perception, or any other reason, then they should not have these jobs.
